So I assume everyone is off work due to the wind... I am anyway.
But what to do on a bonus day off when I can`t go outside... Or I`m not supposed to anyway according to Mr Swinney.
Anyone still having to work?
Oh and did anyone get the mobile phone emergency message twice like I did ?

Working today. My cats were going absolute nuts as the barometer pressure dropped. Instincts we lost long ago.

I’ve been chasing the blue bins ootside on the street since the bin lorry men decided not to put them into the close after they’d emptied them.
My life is just rock n roll, ken

Currently sitting in my current house surrounded by boxes waiting for the wind to die down a bit!

I think you might be a while Hockeyboy. Better to be safe.
The tree in our communal garden has split into two. I was outside trying to wedge the close door shut (it’s been banging all day) and I heard a crash in the back garden. It’s fallen into a car park area which was empty at the time
Please take care everyone.

😂
I’ve been up and doon three flights of stairs in the last two hours trying to wedge a close door shut. It keeps banging loudly and causing so much (more) vibration than normal. Dinnae ask why it doesn’t shut normally. Sigh.

So you got your bins emptied today Buffy ?
My blue one is due to get picked up today but I never even put it out as knew it would get blown over and rubbish would be strewn all over the st.
Have not seen the bin lorry in my st….yet…
A few tiles off some neighbours roofs and a couple of fences blown over.
Roofers and fencers will make a Bob or three out of this…
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

I`m missing 5 or 6 ridge tiles from the roof but I`m council so I`m sure they`ll have that sorted by about 2030 🤣

I didn’t think bin lorries would be out today either desperado. However what I thought was a bin lorry last night turned out to be a large van collecting commercial rubbish - I’m in the centre of town near the pubs etc - and I think our street has been emptied at the same time (albeit my bin and one of the neeburs hasn’t). It’s a busy thoroughfare normally so I wondered if folk have kept the street clear in case of trees and bushes etc. There’s already leaves and wee branches from a nearby carpark blowing up past my window (top floor).
Hope you’ve not got any issues with missing tiles.

Had the joy of getting hit by a tree/huge branch on my way to the WGH earlier. Absolutely shat it. Took the wing mirror clean off my van and damaged the bonnet and door. Thankfully the windscreen didn`t shatter.

Yesterday cancelled jobs and got pile of admin work done before power went out
Had fence with shoogly post stay put bizarrely
Fence the other side of garden was perfectly ok it’s now half down
And we’ve had no power since lunchtime yesterday - bottom lapwing drive and no updates on when it will be back on either
So probably head up town to warm up later

Anybody see the news footage of the Gregg’s lorry blown over ?
The driver was probably told he had to make the journey despite his reservations.
If so, somebody in management needs to justify why an employee’s life was endangered when the police were clearly advising no needless travel.

Baynes had us out both days, not even the slightest bit of concern for drivers or shop staff and will have lost an absolute fortune in wasted food. Got to repair the bakery roof now too 😂

I`ve heard the power may not be restored until at least Monday, relying on screenshots sent from the Blairhall community page on Facebook as I`m not on social media
