Just had a quote from a joiner to fit laminated floor ….£800. The room in question is approx 17m2. Seems a bit steep considering it could be done quite easily in a few hours.
Anyone got recommendations as I ain’t agreeing to this price.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

That`s 3 times what I paid recently. It`s 300 more than what I paid for the laminate and the fitting.

The wife was dealing with this. Someone trying to take advantage of her good nature.
Think I will take red-star-pars advice and do it myself and save a few Bob.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

It`s quite easy to do yourself, hire an electric mitre saw, it`ll save you time.
The only problem for us oldies is trying to stand up after the job, my knees just can`t take it!😮💨

Roughly roughly, Labour costs on fitting a laminate floor these days is £12ish pm2. Depends on the what you’re putting down and the shape of the room. Bay windows, wall recesses etc will put the price up. (Extra cutting and potentially extra material) Also depends on how it’s to be finished at the wall.
That £800 tells me he’s probably quoting a price including supplying a laminate floor for you. If it isn’t, he doesn’t want the job… boys probably got sore knees 🤷🏻♂️
