 Shirley Henderson - actress

Has anybody started watching the excellent "Dept.Q" on Netflix ?

The actress who plays the carer for the lad with special needs was raised in Kincardine and went to Dunfermline High.

She would have been at DHS late 1970s to early 1980s - maybe some folks mind of her ?

I thought she still had a home in the Dunfermline area?

Some scenes for Dept Q were filmed last year near where I live in Edinburgh. A local coffee shop was transformed into a different establishment with a bit of paintwork and change of signage etc.

I`ve been told she was in my year, but I had no recollection of her when I heard this about 30 years ago. She`s been in loads of things.

She`s not a massive feature in it but she has a very strong screen presence IMO.

Great series and already can`t wait for a second series of it. Hoping there`ll be another Rebus series too.

She`s a fantastic actress, and, as listed above has been in some high quality films and TV series, well respected in the industry. I`ve heard her likened to the next Judy Dench, as they expect her talent to mature with age. Bloody nice person too, as are her two sisters, who also live in the toon

Dept Q is excellent TV, really enjoyed it. One of those shows where I`m saying to the wife, `will we just watch one more` despite it being too late.

She’s a gem. My big brother was in her year at DHS.

I’ve worked alongside her wee sisters, too. Awfy nice family.
