I`m sitting here wetting my pants. Bob the clubhouse leader with only a couple of holes left. He`s now 1 behind as I type but the course is pure golf sadism, so Bob has a chance. 100 years since a Scot last won it, so is it written in the stars?

Aaaaachhhhh. Gutted. 2nd place for Bob due to a fabulous putt by the American. Pure gutted.

Terrific drama and a fitting winner in JJ Spaun. He showed tremendous resolution to come back from a horrible front nine where he had some really bad breaks.

Bob never lost it, Spaun won it.

Can’t say the same for Burns and Scott, though. They must be sick?

Spaun got a wee of luck with his whoever he was playing with (Burns?) shot landing about a centimeter in front of his on the green. It gave him a great view to see what he needed to do with his own putt.

He still had to putt it though, so all credit to him. I was convinced they were all going to drop behind Bob when there were only 2 holes left. All the players kept getting bogeys and going behind Bob. I just kept ticking them off until it was JJ and Hovland that still had a chance if they didn`t keep dropping shots.

Bob must have had one of the best weekend scores at 5 under for the 2 rounds. I`ve thought for a couple of years that he had the potential to win a Major when he was about 50 in the rankings. I just hope he isn`t another Monty (legend). A lovely reaction when Spaun won too. Class act, not like a certain whiny northern Irish golfer 😀 .

Sadistic course too, brilliant. I get a bit bored watching players winning at 20 under. Refreshing to see a hard-core challenge.
