Can anyone justify why Asda and Tesco can charge more than twice the price for a branded breakfast cereal than Farm Foods? And before you ask, the packs are all exactly the same weight.
Needless to say, I paid the higher price and a relative told me the Farm Food price. I didn`t believe her, was in town today and checked. It`s true. Farm Foods are charging 59% less than the large supermarket chains.

Why would they sell it at such a knockdown price, Bandy? Surely 10 or 20% would do it, but less than half the price sounds crazy. I spotted several other foodstuffs selling at significantly cheaper prices. Are they all loss leaders or is Farm Foods happy to embrace smaller profit margins.
I think I`ll start frequenting Farm Foods a bit more often than 2 or 3 times a year from now on. 🙂

Should see the price differences between Morrisons and Aldi here in Cowden - a good 30% hike from the former for effectively the same goods.

GG, I think the likes of Farmfoods, Home Bargains and B&Ms scour the market and do deals for branded goods from third party suppliers, quite often in other countries.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

I think possibly some of the things on sale for cheaper than normal prices are items that normally have a fairly long shelf life, e.g. Corn Flakes, Sauces, Biscuits but in Farmfoods these don`t seem to have as long on the Best Before Date

Farmfoods is primarily imported frozen food. The deals on branded food are usually down to them being closer to sell by than Tesco or Morrisons would sell. Farmfoods also seems to have far fewer staff and certainly don`t have ones standing about having a chat while a load of self service tills are stuck waiting on one of them to clear the issue.
The Cowdenbeath one has now closed as it was at the end of its lease. The Dunfermline one should have a while on its lease yet but the interior is pretty miserable. I`ve never understood why the park owner has painted the units different colours.

Noticed the same for gravy granules recently
Bisto was £4+ whilst the own brand was less than half of that.
Still, that`s the stock market for you.....
