I live in Kelty, buses to Dunfermline are every half hour. Yesterday I had an appointment at half 3. I get to the bus stop well in advance of the bus. I double check the timetable and I`m correct, there should be a bus at 3pm. It doesn`t show, I check the app and the bus I expected isn`t even on it. So I have to fork out £18 that i can`t afford on a taxi which fortunately got me there in time. Why have timetables when they are absolutely worthless?
Stagecoach are a useless bunch of Scooby snacks that don`t care about their customers. I`d write a letter of complaint but what`s the point. Beans on toast every day until I next get paid, thanks Stagecoach. D*cks.
I`ll be checking the app in the future as timetables aren`t worth the paper they are printed on.

It might be worth a letter to your MP.
It should be possible to get an FOI done if they have made commitments on the quality levels of the service.

Your aware it’s not stagecoach that are responsible for the timetables at the bus stop right that falls solely at the door of fife council and or travelline Scotland the council can’t even fix a pot hole properly so you’ve got no chance of them bothering their bottom with bus timetables

I know you’ve had a bad experience this time but the app is good. Only issue Ive seen is buses not showing on the app despite running. It’s good for buying tickets and keeping an eye on buses running late etc.

The app can be useless too and Stagecoach are a terrible company. They cancelled the X52 service that went through Duloch to Edinburgh and next month replace it with a new service going through Duloch to Edinburgh...but not at peak times on the return..so fantastic for the unemployed and pensioners, but useless for workers. You honestly couldn`t make it up.

I used the app most days.
It`s ok but has a few glitches now and then.
Never use the timetables that are at bus stops cos they don`t get updated regularly so are usually out of date.

As I`ve found many times, you have to be very wary of buses around school drop off and pick up times. Not saying its the case here, but sometimes at those hours there are letters next to it to say something like "School Holiday only"...

The apps improving with some element of information on if running on time but still falls a long way short of Edinburgh buses app where you can see where a bus is on its route

Indeed you can but it is prone to glitches.
Sometimes the bus can just disappear.

I remember waiting on the x55 a few months back, at the west end.
The info at the stop would tell me it’s due in 5 mins, 4 mins, 3 mins, 2 mins, 1 min, due…and then move back to 10 mins and so it repeated. It never showed and I was able to get on the “bus behind it” 30 mins later 🤷
It`s bloody tough being a legend

I remember in Finland, maybe 30 years ago, where they had a bus service schedule. This was really important as people could actually freeze to death waiting on a bus!
I don’t know how they did it in those days but was very reliable information on the bus service.

I believe there is a significant shortage of bus drivers - maybe a factor in no show services ?
