Gutted by this news, I still listen to The Stone Roses first album at least once a week, it`s an absolute classic. I was actually listening to it earlier and still in awe of the bass playing of Mani complimenting Reni`s drumming. Mani was a great bass player, I was always a fan of Primal Scream but I felt when he joined them, he moved them up a gear. Met him years back, lovely guy as well

1988 was the year I found The Stone Roses. If i put their debut album on and shut my eyes I`m instantly transported back in time to 89/90 before the Internet and phones. The opening bassline to Adored can`t be topped and sets the tone for that album and the entire Manchester music scene. So simple but sends shivers down my spine.
I hate being an age where all my heroes seem to be passing away.
