When I`m in Dunfermline pre- match I tend to stick to the high street area pubs and wander up towards EEP.
Any pubs recommended off that street and onwards , this time I`m staying near St Margaret rail station so after checking in at 2pm I`m on my way..

Very few pubs between Dunfermline QM and East End. The Lizzie is the only one that comes to mind. There might be a bar in the house hotel off Halbeath Road.

Aye I know of the Lizzie, I`ll be munching on my late breakfast (liquid .. maybe solids?!) there till check in.
Looking for more traditional Pars gathering pubs. It doesn`t need to be near the stadium, I`ll have my hiking boots and flask on me! (hic)

I`d recommend the Park Tavern, or Peg Allan`s or the Brig Tavern.
Easy to find, if you can reach 88mph in a certain car.
Failing that The Commercial has a fine selection of cask ales and decent grub.
Alas we like many towns have lost many of our best pubs, the best pub currently in town is a speakeasy being run out of a recently shut establishment.

The old inn, and the creepy wee are just off the High Street. Both decent pubs, the creepy wee is a bit gimmicky but better than most others. The old inn has a blue plaque outside as the location DAFC was formed in.
The East Port is also good.
Going by what it was like for the Hibs game, you`d have more luck with a carry-out on a park bench tho. Pubs were crammed from opening, and folk struggling to get near the bar.

Many thanks, I`ll be taking those in.
Been in the Creepy, it`s.. just OK I suppose, Often walked past the Old Inn (I often go to the Abbey and park area when there to take a few photos) but never been in, was aware of the history so I`ll definitely cross the doorway this time.

Think it`s going to be a case of first pub with room to sit and fairly easy to get served, I`m staying.

If you`re going to QM station walk up towards the hospital and walk along Robertson Rd until you meet Townhill Road. Walk up the hill and you have the Yeoman pub, good for a couple of beers and then easy walk down the hill to East End.

What time will Charlie D`s be opening? Just thinking as it`s a night game but on a Saturday, could it be open from the afternoon?
Also, if venturing into town after the game, would wearing my Pars scarf be an issue getting into bars, again with it being a Saturday night, but also the no colours rule I`ve seen in a few places in Edinburgh, Glasgow etc.

๐ It`ll be a crawl or a run, depending on how busy pubs are when I`m sorted at gaff( hopefully after 2.30pm) and if I`m struggling to get served.

I forgot to come back to this link and thank everyone for suggestions.
In a nutshell, I was camped out in the Old Inn for the afternoon, then had a beer in both the Somewhere Else Bar and the Commercial.
Post celebration was back to the Old Inn.
Had a great time, especially when the rugby was on and someone asked why I wasn`t getting excited.
( In a broad Lancashire accent) I replied.. "have a bloody guess!"
Nope. It`s not an England/ Scottish thing, it`s a rugby league/ union thing for me.
I won`t talk politics beyond this comment, but being someone who`s semi retired and travelling pretty much every month ( hello currently from Poland!), I`ve no massive affliction with anything when it comes to the tribalism of country flag shagging.
I`ve always loved meeting people who love their country whenever I`ve been there and always seen the better prospects of life they have than me.
One day I`ll be hoping to live in the Fife / Perthshire area as the emotional pull keeps tugging.
I`m waffling ( beer is cheap and tasty here!), but my motto for donkeys years has been..
I talk Lancashire, I think European and love the world.
