The Bus Station has been like the wild west for years, obvious to anyone that it needs a permanent security presence, but it doesn`t. Staff and passengers are left to fend for themselves. I`ve passed through a few times on a Friday night after work about 6ish and its not an enjoyable experience.

Fife Council. They already owned that whole site after nabbing from Alfie Stewart with a CPO. He wanted to build a second shopping centre with a cinema and had Warner signed up. They then ran a mile when the council approved the leisure park at Halbeath. The council then took the buildings, demolished them all (including some really nice facades) and left it vacant until the bus station and pointless gap site were built.
The gap site existed because Fife Council were insistent on it being a retail or leisure development. They`ve now spent another £1.6m on the gap site to build a "city square" that is usually dark due to being surrounded by tall buildings. Given the bother at the bus station, you can guarantee the trouble will now spread onto the square.
I`ve noticed people are getting fed up now and just posting pictures of kids regardless of the law. Shop workers and the general public have had enough of a minority of wee fuds causing bother. It`s regularly the same families as well.

The police have sent round a note to all the Dunfermline high schools asking that parents speak to their kids about congregating at the bus station and staying clear of it for their own safety. My understanding is at least two of the main culprits are well known and from Rosyth.

Need to get back to lifting them and sticking them in the cells till Monday morning, or until a parent comes and collects them. Absolute joke these days.

I genuinely think this would stop the problem very quickly. It was a few years ago now but when there was bother up Townhill woods it turned out the parents were buying the booze and dropping them off there. Incredible.

The problem is many have school clubs in evening or work in shops on the weekend.
The solution is above - lock up the trouble makers. You see them standing in other towns and villages on the bus to Dunfermline to cause bother. Must have really sad lives if they get off on annoying pensioners and attacking kids.

The police aren`t going to do anything, it`s going to take someone to take the law into their own hands. Many years ago up the old bus station, an acquaintance of mine bought some fags from the wee kiosk and sat down to have one. He was a body builder, hod carrier and nightclub doorman. Always wore baggy clothes to hide his physique which made him look a bit like he was maybe just a fatty. A couple of neds approached him and asked for some cigarettes. He politely said that was his last one. They went away for a discussion then returned and said they had seen him buy a packet, demanded them and produced an axe. He just grabbed the guys axe-weilding hand, and then knocked him out cold. His accomplice just left him and bolted off. That`s the sort of thing these folk need

There do seem to be some strange people up there. Last time there was a guy shouting down the phone he was going to batter someone for stealing his jacket.
The guy that go on at the Park and Ride and told a woman several times to shut her pus was probably worse though.

Two *adults* charged. The kids are seemingly still causing bother too. What`s the draw of Dunfermline bus station? Maybe someone could turn the waiting area into a crèche and charge the neds £10 an hour to come in? Unlimited fruit shoots and pom bears on offer.

there was fighting at the bus station last week, just about 1pm
group were beating up another young kid, it was disgraceful scenes
running across the concourse causing havoc.
I have some videos and pictures of the culprits, I`m assuming they came from Queen Anne. would be good to show their parents what bullies they are. where can I post these videos, images
they got a bit annoyed at me while I was videoing.
they then ran after the bus across to Tesco Bus stop what appeared to be like coming on the bus. however, I also video`d them doing that and they resisted from jumping on the bus

Let`s admit it, what they are asking for and really needing is a right good kick in. If someone does give them a proper battering and they have a few days in hospital, it`s probably the sort of lesson that will stand them in very good stead for the rest of their lives

What scares me most is this "zero fvcks, no regard" attitude of today.
I`m sure most of us stepped out of line occasionally growing up, and we probably all have stories of our escapades of youth. Never would I ever have acted up on camera, or in a public place. Yet todays youth not only have no regard for consequences, they actively film themselves being naughty and upload it in an effort to gain some sort of point-scoring game on social media.
If they have such little fear of getting caught that they themselves provide the evidence of their crimes, with absolutely zero regard for the potential punishment, then the system is severely broken.

Surely if it’s a “notorious” family from Rosyth you’d think it would have been dealt with?

You`d think so but they`ve beaten up kids, stolen a kids trainers and thrown them in a garden, regularly shoplifted around Dunfermline and Rosyth, trashed a hotel room in Rosyth and caused bother at the bus station.
There are at least three of them. Single mum who can`t control them.

And presumably a criminal justice system that, through decades of a "softly softly" approach to perpetrators, has resulted in there being absolutely no consequences for their actions even if they are caught, while the victims and neighbours have to live in total fear?
There`s far too many of these stories around the city now. There seems to be examples of these families spread across Dunfermline.
Everybody`s hands are tied with red tape and legislation, so they are effectively allowed to run wild and lawless.

This is the issue. There are no repercussions. I go out and call someone a fanny and I potentially end up in court. An under 25 shop lifts and smashes an apple off an old guys head then kicks off at a bus driver and they get a slap on the wrist.
Shops are having to hide stock away now because people are just helping themselves knowing nothing will be done.

Years ago, someone I know of (who really is not someone to be trifled with) had just got a brand new car and was stopped at traffic lights. There was a bunch of young guys maybe aged about 17-18 hanging about. One of them flung an apple and it hit the car. He turned to his wife and said, half jokingly "wee sh 1ts, I should go out and batter them". She said "aye, right, go on then, hard man" which was like a red rag to a bull, so he got out and went up to them, expecting them to scarper, but one of them faced up to him and the others looked up for it. So, he knocked the biggest one out. The rest scarpered. He got in his car. Probably not the recommended way to deal with things but I bet that crowd of lads don`t throw stuff at anyone`s cars any more

The pondlife youth that killed the bus driver in Elgin has been released less than 18 months into his sentence according to media.
Can`t be named for legal reasons - you couldn`t make this up .........except it`s true.

That, in itself.m, is vile from the system. He will now go about his life as normal and easily get a job with zero background checks to it.

This is what I mean by a lack of repercussions. I`m not saying someone can`t change and turn their life around but if you can effectively murder someone and be out in 18 months with no mark on your record, what does that say to people? Obviously I`d hope you shouldn`t need a deterrent not to murder someone but some people need kept in line.
