Utter scum. Imagine being so worked up at losing a late goal you physically hurt someone? Such fragile egos. Sadly, Greece has also had its share of violence not only in football but in other sports too recently.
Ep.17 of East End Tales is out now with Andrius Skerla

Saw it from a different angle on the news tonight. After the guy in the beige coat kicked him in the head, another guy piled in and kicked him twice more in the head
All three need jailed
It`s bloody tough being a legend

Memories of Louis Thow back in the early 80’s getting attacked by Pars fans. Think it was an away match at Stenny or East Stirling? The police had to escort him off the pitch at the end of the game after a couple of shocking decisions.
Dunfermline 6 Albion Rovers 0. On my birthday as well, thanks very much.

And to be fair it was more than a couple of shocking decisions, we were well into double figures.

I think a well known poster on this site, now based in Europe may have landed a blow on Thow. I`m sure he was a pretty handy boxer at the time as well

Happy times when Pars fans could assault the referee to vent their anger rather than posting on here.
I am fairly sure that Louis Thow was an uncle of the former referee and radio pundit Willie Young. Have to say that Thow was always a disaster when refereeing Pars games.

If you ever saw the movie Midnight Express, you would reckon that Turkish prisons were places best avoided. Let`s hope those involved in this shocking incident get a wee spell inside.

Thanks, couldn’t remember exactly where it happened, I would have been around 14/15 at the time 😆 Did he send off Stevie Morrison that night, I just remember the pars fans absolutely spitting feathers that night. Violence at the games was almost part and parcel back then, thankfully a thing (generally) of the past.

Quite easily the most shambolic refereeing display I’ve witnessed that day.
Jim Bowie had a goal knocked off despite the whole ground seeing it ripple the net. Countless other decisions riled the Pars fans up so much and touchline.
From memory , Stevie Morrison and Jim Leishman were red carded too.
I think we were unbeaten in the league up until that game which heightened the atmosphere.
Louise Thow got a bovril thrown at him when we played down at Threave Rovers the next time he reffed us.
To be fair the bovril was bowfin mind you lol

Thow also gave the shocking penalty to Celtic at EEP in our first season in the premier league. Justice was done though as we won 2-1.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Morrison sent off for retaliation after a shocking tackle
Bowie hit the bar and the ball crossed the line .. Thow disagreed
Bowie through with only the keeper to beat was brought down .. a stonewaller
Thow said no penalty
