Dundee Utd very comfortable at the moment, majority of the ball, 4 plus corners already, found themselves in a couple of decent positions but in saying that nothing of note for Mehmet to do.
Would’ve taken this first 20mins, just hope we grow into this as the game goes on.

Interesting from an outsider looking in that United aren`t so hot at home compared to away. Similar to us last season in a way but we managed to go unbeaten and won the big one v Falkirk whereas they`ve lost twice including a big game v Raith. Wonder if its expectations, teams sitting deeper, confidence or some combination.

This isn`t a criticism, but it is a ridiculously young back 3. It would bode really well for the future.

I think we deserved a point. Not much of the ball but gave away very few clear chances all game. We played really well without the ball today (probably the best all season), though the more rigid setup at the back and generally being a bit deeper than normal helped in that. Also, it made a difference having Hamilton back in midfield which made the whole thing a bit better balanced.
The problems we had mainly came from trying to play out too much and giving the ball away around our own box. Right decision to take McCann off in the second half given he`s coming back from an injury, but once again we found it harder near the end without him in the team. I`m the only one that ever seems to say it, but as a defensive forward he is very effective. Aside from direct contributions to defensive work, when he`s on the pitch it gives us the option of a ball out, without him we really had nothing at all beyond the halfway line. That meant that the attempts to play out got even tighter and towards the end it became a choice of playing out when it wasn`t on or just kicking it away. I`m quite happy that we did often just hoof it away in the last few minutes.
Good, gutsy effort to see the game out. It would have been sore to lose it after such an effort, so great to see those two great saves at the end from Mehmet and Edwards to get us a point.

A few tired legs but no major injuries apparently. I was a wee bit worried when I saw Fisher stretching his legs late on but he seemed to recover OK.
If you think our squad is stretched, look at Arbroath. They only had two on the bench and one was the goal-scoring keeper, Adams. They had Jacobs sent off after 28 minutes and only used their outfield sub in the 81st minute.

A gutsy performance in which all the players came away with pass marks and dug in together without the ball. For all the possession United had we limited them and matched them on goal opportunities.
Well played to all of the boys on an all important point with special mentions to Fisher who won everything in the air and Otoo for coming out on top. Some save by Mehmet at the death too.

It was an excellent point, gained because of a disciplined defensive display.
The next three games will present an altogether different challenge though.
We are at home, against sides the fans will expect us to beat. The tactics and setup will need to be quite different
Are we currently a team, with the players we have at our disposal, that is suited to playing on the front foot ?

It was an excellent point, gained because of a disciplined defensive display.
The next three games will present an altogether different challenge though.
We are at home, against sides the fans will expect us to beat. The tactics and setup will need to be quite different
Are we currently a team, with the players we have at our disposal, that is suited to playing on the front foot ?
The 3-5-2 or 3-4-1-1 as it looked yesterday needs willing fullbacks coupled with runners from midfield.
O`halloran looks dangerous going forward but he needs more targets in the box,
Summers and moffat need minutes to perfect their timing, they are excellent footballers.
The strikers also need minutes together as a pair, something Will click you can see it in glimpses.
My only fear is McCann turns out like shankland once he has left us because we weren`t patient enough.

Apart from nobody actually saying that of course. Think some people - rightly - think we might finish bottom half and that 9th isn`t outwith the realms of possibility but that doesn`t fit the narrative. And while a point at Tannadice is a good result, we`re not the only team who have managed at least that this season. Wee bit of nuance required I think, not that you ever see that on here.

I don`t need educated on nuance, thanks.
I think there`s a good chance we`ll finish bottom half too, but we`ve just as much chance as anyone else of finishing 4th if we can get out and stay of the injury mire.
My comment was directed at the handful of posters who pollute this place, and on social media, with perpetual negativity and say the same thing over and over and over again.

` And while a point at Tannadice is a good result, we`re not the only team who have managed at least that this season.`
That`s the kind of comment that really annoys me. Why turn a positive into a negative? You could just as easily point out that we`ve now played the top two sides three times each so our remaining fixtures aren`t quite as challenging as our rivals`.

The reality is still 6 games winless and 3 points from last 18.

What happened to `the table doesn`t lie`?
In this league every team will go through relatively barren spells. Look at the Rovers just now. There`s also the little matter of missing virtually half our squad for the past few months.

How is stating a fact negative? A point is a good result - as I said - but it isn`t Liverpool we were playing, it was a Dundee United side who have lost at home to Morton and Raith and drawn with us, drawn with Inverness and drawn with Morton. It`s fine to be pleased with the result but it`s also fine not to think about results in the context of where teams around us in the division have done too. I know we live in an age where every statement has to be "biased" in some way, but sometimes facts are just that - facts.

I think any Pars fan unhappy that we managed a point yesterday or views the point as a negative then that would be harsh.
But let`s not kid ourselves on Utd have been poor at home and teams have gone there and collected 3 point crikey Morton went there and scores 3 goals.
When I was at the game yesterday I thought if we had more going forward then we could have certainly collected all 3 points but for me we don`t have that kind of quality.
So the point was good but not outstanding .

Bigger reality is 6 points clear of bottom and 4 points clear of 9th........

I don`t remember anyone saying before the game that we should expect to get something from it because other teams had managed results there! Most were predicting a gubbing!
It may be a fact that other teams have got results at Tannadice but we still had to go there and perform. I also like the comment that Dundee United aren't Liverpool! I've got news for you - we're not Manchester City!

Plenty of posters have said exactly that and mention regulation regularly. Have a look at the Who’s to blame, Queens Park game and the first Transfer Window threads. Have a wee search - it’s a great tool.

I think what it demonstrates is that there is little between any of the teams I this league. We have suffered more due to injury than the teams above us, but I am sure their time will come in the season when they do. A rovers supporter I know said that they have been winning games despite not playing well.it could be that they are due for a lean spell as well as Utd. My view is that there are no easy wins in this league and hopefully we have turned a corner with injuries and have an opportunity to put in some good performances our next few games and pick up points. Complacency is the enemy. Good point yesterday and solid performance in the end. Something to build on.

Apparently Fisher was advised to wear a mask but it wasn`t mandatory and he chose not to because he found it uncomfortable.
