It’s quite common to not take guys carrying niggles/knocks on long journeys midweek. Every chance he’s just been rested, to ensure he’s fully fit for the weekend. Worth remembering we’re playing Tue/Sat/Tue/Sat. No point in risking someone tonight and having them miss the next 3, if they could miss tonight and be available for the next 3.

He looked out of gas by the end of his first game and really shouldn’t have played 90 mins vs Partick. I get how important that game was but it shouldn’t be at the cost of having him miss more games due to any pulled hamstring or whatever.

There could be, thats why I stated earlier that if its an injury its just our luck….and I hope, its a niggle and he is back for Saturday, and its not a case of being rested because he cant manage 3 games in a week. Thats all 🤷🏻♂️ I am perfectly calm btw 👍🏻

I see the manager said after the game that, if Kane had been fit, he would have rested McCann. I think he`s trying to make sure players aren`t overtaxed in this period where we have so many games one after the other and some have played more games than others. He didn`t think McCann`s injury was too serious so hopefully both are available on Saturday.

Wouldn`t it be great if McPake could magic up a player who has never been injured in his career and averages a goal every 2 or even 3 games? Of course there might be a problem getting his club to agree to loan him out but that`s irrelevant if you`re a keyboard manager.

However, i`ll happily come back on here and say i was wrong if he starts banging in the goals.

Well we scored 4 in two games with him and the sum total of zero goals in the last 4 without him. Not that it absolutely proves anything right enough but we did create more.

Gambled with the closing down, forcing the error and a proper strikers finish as well.

Found myself getting quite irate in the first half at the fact we weren`t closing them down as Kane finally did.
Ayr looked totally uncomfortable playing out from the back and I felt all it needed was some pressure to force an error.
Kane has been a great addition.

A joke that we are relying so heavily on a loan player up front but here we are. If we stay up, a clear out is needed and we have to improve certain areas, up front for one.

Can someone define `injury prone`? Is KRH injury prone having suffered three different impact injuries already this season? Unless he`s playing recklessly surely that`s just bad luck?
In the January transfer window experienced players who are available are likely to be recovering from injury, out of form or out of favour with their manager so they are an even bigger gamble than usual.

We will have team news soon. From what I’ve seen of Kane there can be no doubt he has made a significant contribution to our forward play and has increased goal scoring opportunities. If he is not fit we will have to get on with it without him. It just sums up our season and back luck with injuries.

When it comes to loans its normal to be looking at players from a higher level that need to get back to full fitness hence it`s probably more of a gamble than most signings. He`s shown that he`s more than capable so the manager`s judgement in that respect can`t be faulted. Its just a shame that he doesn`t seem to be able to play as many games as we need.
As Swifty says. It sums up our season.

Team announced and Kane not listed in the pool. This is going to cause a meltdown on DAFC.net! We will have to go with what fit players we have. But, I’m mystified as to why we start with Summers. He has underachieved in every game he has played this season. Maybe he will prove me wrong!! But I would play Moffat before Summers every game. COYP

C’mon da no1 I thought we were assured that the goal against Partick ended any debate about whether Todd can play in the centre of the park at this level?
Are you saying he can`t play in the centre of the park at this level?

Everyone needs to calm down about Kane.
He has played 3 games and scored one goal which he did take well but the ball was gifted to him on the edge of the box for a one on one.
He hasn’t really even looked like scoring the rest of the time.

We`ve looked much more dangerous as a team with him though.

Massive loss. We are unbeaten in all 3 games he’s played in and have to hope this isn’t long term. Squad looks good but our problem as always will be putting the ball in the net. Hopefully Bene can get through the full 90 injury free, along with the rest.

Lucho if you compare his contribution in each game to what we have been getting from the likes of McCann and jak you can see why he’s so important. His awareness and positioning is so much better. The other 2 have no idea what to do with the ball.
Would imagine KRH will be very rusty, at least it gives us an out and might help worry them that we have some pace on the counter.
Hopefully bene sharp enough today, not an easy game to come in after a long absence.

Gifted to him.
Whataladapash.
He ran a distance, closed the man down and took it off him.
Gifted FFS!

If that was looking dangerous then how are we not winning the league?! 🙄😂

The laddie has played 3 games we’ve won 2 and drawn one ffs.
He’s brought a presence to the frontline and took his goal well last week. Wtf are folk expectations.

With Chris Kane: 3 games, 7 points.
Without Chris Kane: 11 games, 4 points.
That`s a wee summary of the last 14 matches - and maybe a hint to why some were not so calm when we heard he was out...

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.
