So am I. Gutted I missed it last night. No doubt when I watch on Friday it will be DAFC style 0-0 and Airdrie will win with a dubious penalty where Todarov will fall ar** over t*t and it trundles in the opposite corner. I really hope thistle go up this year, but they arguably have a weaker squad than they did last year.

Personally, I rather hope they stay down. I would never hear the end of it from my Thistle supporting chum and due to its proximity, Firhill is a very convenient away day for me. No, far better for them to stay down with us. Even if they get past Airdrie, I suspect Raith will see them out.
I might go with my pal on Friday to secretly support Airdrie. Haven`t read the cheery notes of partickthistlelad for some time. Wonder where he`s got to. Maybe he`ll get back in touch to wave us goodbye if Thistle do make the higher grade.

I know forecasting football matches is a mug`s game, but I agree.
I hope Thistle get promoted as I think they would cause more problems for DAFC next season than Raith.

Surely the real question is, would they cause more problems than st. Johnston our Ross county?

I sort of hope Airdrie go up. Just to freshen things up in the top league
If Airdrie go up it`ll create a hole in the space time continuum as their fans won`t know whether to support Airdrie or Rangers.

Raith is a strange team even when they aren`t at their best you can`t rule them out of it. When you have a trait like that in a 2 leg scenario isn`t a bad trait to have.

It isn`t practical unless you move venues. You need 42 cameras installed for VAR and it costs over £10000 to install.

Partick win by an offside goal. You don`t need VAR for something as obvious as that.
Agree with the Todorov comment. Useless with the ball at his feet.

I think Airdrie were a wee bit unfortunate to lose that. They move the ball about really sweetly but just lacked a wee bit sharpness in the box and of course the opening goal was a bit dubious to say the least.

if he is out of contract, Hancock a possible replacement for Edwards if he does go?
might be an option even if he doesnt and if McPake sticks with 3 at the back, can play on the left of the 3.

They had no final ball but that seemed as much because the front men weren`t great at getting into positions where they could be found - very much like ourselves.

Both teams look streets ahead of us to be honest.
I have backed McPake all season, tough time with injuries, but the football this year, and even last year when we won the league, has been awful. Slow, ponderous, tedious. When you see the pace and urgency, aggression, experience, cutting edge of the teams tonight, everything we don`t have

What happened to Michael Stewart`s voice tonight? When we played at Firhill a few weeks ago and scored that questionably offside first goal he was all over it like a dog with a bone after seeing only one camera angle, repeating incessantly for the rest of the first half about how undeserved our lead was. Tonight Graham`s goal looked a far better example for being offside and he gives a mealy mouthed comment about sometimes close decisions go that way and never brought it up again. Is he a closet Thistle fan or does he not like us that much.
Impressed by the way Airdrie play and how Rhys McCabe conducts himself.

Our first goal at Firhill was an equaliser and was scored at the end of the first half wasn`t it? MFW had a tap-in after the keeper fumbled. I don't remember it being suggested he was offside. We weren`t in the lead until Todd scored early in the second half.
They had a goal disallowed for offside in the build-up early in the game but the whistle had gone before the ball went in the net and some of our players had stopped playing in response to that. The contentious decision that went in our favour was when a Brian Graham goal in the second half which seemed to have been allowed was then disallowed after a discussion between the ref and his assistant. No one was sure why it was chalked off. What goes around comes around I suppose.

The one in the first half of the game at Firhill was a tight decision and the angle was inconclusive. Didn`t stop the BBC pundits making out it was a clanger though. The one in the second half was a big mistake though.

Thanks wee eck for putting me right about the memory fart I had last night about our game at Firhill at the end of February. It was of course the ruling out of the Thistle goal in the first half for offside that upset the bold Michael so much that he couldn`t stop chuntering on about it right up until the second goal they had ruled offside when they had a genuine grievance. My point really was that his reaction to two contentious decisions was so noticeable, in our game he couldn`t stop talking about it whereas last night he saw what we all saw and gave it a wide berth afterwards.
Full marks to R McCabe, when invited to comment on the incident he swerved it by saying he hadn`t seen it again but didn`t believe it affected the outcome of the game. Wouldn`t be surprised if he has moved on to a bigger club by the end of next season.

What a job McCabe has done at Airdrie. Got them playing great football and were all over Partick last 20 mins. Just lacked the physicality and the striker. Todrov showed why we got rid of him - little presence up front, anonymous most of the game.
Airdrie had 3 young lads in midfield if I am correct - 19, 20 and 21 year olds! These guys can only get better. If McCabe stays at Airdrie can see them being stronger next year.
Great to see Rhys McCabe having such great success as a young manager. We need more Managers like him in the Championship, those who are trying to play football and change tactics so well when required.

I can`t remember why, but I wasn`t a big fan of McCabe as a player. However, he`s been a superb manager for Airdrie. I hope he moves on to bigger and better things. Mainly because it`s good to see a young manager do well, but also because I think Airdrie are [not a very nice word]
