For me yes, he would cover a few different positions

I’m sure we’ll have looked at him, don’t want to disappoint the champions of mediocrity on here but we seem to have a thing for getting players from our managements previous clubs.
The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity!

Why are you always looking for someone to bite?

Someone like Ryan McGowan would be a fantastic player for us. Big, strong, good leader, bags of experience. Australian international, great professional. Can play anywhere along the back line, he would be a great player to have especially if we are going with a smaller squad
Anyone that can`t see that he would help the squad doesn`t understand football

Did Ngwenya ever play as a trialist for Dundee or St Johnstone? Genuinely confused about him signing.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

He`s apparently a big fan of The Broons so that`ll probably be the connection.

Loans to Cove, Kelty, wee team and Partick
Went to Stewart’s Melville - bet he’s got a plummy Morningside accent too :-D

A footballer that went to Stewart`s Melville? Unbelievable. Did he earn his contract with Aberdeen or did his daddy arrange and subsidise it for him?

McGowan only joined SJ in 2022 so won`t have come across Dave Mackay there although he had a short loan spell at Dundee in 2019 when James McPake was there. Earlier in his career he had loan spells from Hearts to Ayr and Partick. He`s 34 now.

“Went to Stewart’s Melville”.
I’m not at all sure that this is true. Are we perhaps mixing him up with Craig Gowans, the poor lad who was tragically electrocuted when with Falkirk? He certainly was an erstwhile Stewart’s Melville pupil.

According to Wikipedia Ngwenya was educated at Stewarts Melville. His father is a professor at Edinburgh University.

At the risk of sounding a bit “What have the Romans ever done for us?”, in addition to Ngwenya. the wee team’s captain Ross Matthews, Euan Henderson (Hamilton, ex-Hearts), Finlay Pollock (Hearts), Callum Pitt (Edinburgh City), Cieran Dunne (Peterhead, ex-Bairns, Sunderland and Cove), Archie Wylie (Spartans), Sam Newman (Cowdenbeath, ex-Edinburgh City and Spartans) and Jonny Court (ex-Rovers and East Fife) have all played SPFL football since attending there within the last decade or so.
So probably not that unbelievable…
