It`s always a good discussion point - who comes in if the manager goes. Most were impressed at bringing in McPake after the last two, but who replaces McPake?
It`s unlikely to be someone already signed up and it would need to be someone cheap-ish. Who is available and, more importantly, who is good?

McCabe should be the one we go for but for several obvious reasons, we won’t. He fits the bill in terms of being a young coach, has an attractive style of play and has found a few gems in the transfer market, guys we almost certainly could’ve been in for ourselves.
Looking at the list for the potential Rovers next manager makes for some pretty grim reading and would imagine many of those names would also be linked to us

Is Dick still available? Might be a dinosaur but he`d rip this team to shreds and have them actually putting in 100%

Ian McCall
Give him it until the end of the season to try and keep us up. He`s clearly always wanted to manage us. Won`t be on too high a wage I`d imagine. Dick won`t work under the regime at EEP and McCabe will be a fortune to get.

Of all the 42 managers in Scotland only 8 have been in their job longer than McPake. Shows you how much of a merry-go-round it is.Only 4 have lasted over the 3 year mark-Samuel at Spartans for 12 years, Petrie at Montrose for 7 and then Martindale(Livi) and Farrell (Dumbarton) who are into their 4th.

Knowing us we’d be in for big dunc!
I’m not sure who’s available but there is bound to be a few managers out there who have better contacts, better training methods and would be able to set us up better as a team.
Bored of this turgid dross on the park. Bit of a hospital pass to the next manager tho thanks to mcpake and Dave.
Whole squad needs a lift, to me that only comes from a new manager with a fresh approach and enough budget to bring in 2-3 decent experienced pro’s outside of the usual 2 clubs.
Won’t happen tho, it will be at least another month before mcpake is finally punted.

McCabe every day of the week. Airdrie play attacking football, that’s what I want to watch. Also very good with developing young players.

In this instance I don’t think McCabe would be the man. He was given time to build an Airdrie team to play the way he wants while still being able to influence the game on the pitch at a level that he was more than capable of performing at. He wouldn’t have that time with us.
We really would be better looking for experience this time

Let’s face it, we were better and more attractive to watch under Stevie craw and AJ, we would not be short of managers who could do us a turn when the job becomes available and put a better more cohesive product on the park than the current manager.
How long do we have to limp on hoping for 0-0’s before we decide we can and should be doing better?

That’s the crux of it really isn’t it? No happy watching a defensive let’s hope we hold on and nick one type of game. Thing is, would we be complaining if we were winning 1-0, 2-1 every week? Probably not I’d suggest but that’s irrelevant. We’re getting beat and no even looking like getting something from anywhere.
Would someone like Ian Murray be better?
I seen someone say Jack Ross earlier and I think he’s a good manager but I wonder if he’s the type of guy wanting more money than we can afford?

Murray might not be a bad shout, problem is we won’t be big payers so needs to be a manager who is already relatively local.

If/when we get a new manager regardless who it is I would like to see Joe Cardle as assistant.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.
