Was looking forward to next week - even after Saturday - as it`s now my closest away game before i realised we have no fixture and it`s not untill the 24th August.
Had a wee look at Hamilton website regarding tickets, nothing up yet understandably but still had the info up from their first home game.
Assuming it will be the same.....make sure you are sitting comfortably. £26 for an adult ticket.
Give them their due £8 for Under-16s which is about the going rate and seems reasonable enough but for a team that`s just came up from League one that seems pretty hefty for normal tickets.
Will still go of course so more fool me i guess. Don`t get to many away games, is this the going rate now? What were Dundee Utd charging last season?

Very rarely go to away games since they changed the rules that the home team kept the gate money

I noticed their prices when the fixtures were announced - I was very relieved to find out that the first away fixture against them was 24th August knowing that I would be unable to make it - and I generally go to all away games but I really don`t want to have to pay those prices.

£26 is absolutely scandalous pricing for the level of football on offer. Might be our lowest away crowd of the season after that display on Saturday.

26 quid to watch dreadful football, on a terrible artificial surface, in an empty stadium in the West of Scotland? Aye, I`ll be giving that one a miss. Oh, and we`ll get beat also as well as the weather being keech, no doubt.

In summary, people attending this game are just gullible fools.
Responsible for encouraging these clubs to screw the few fans who attend for as much as they possibly can.

Pah call me a gullible fool then but it’s still a good day out and with the kid prices good is still ok for me albeit on the pricey side.
Given recent news as well be good if we had a big attendance to show that despite the issues off field we’re there for the players.

Exactly. I`m going to go to this now despite the price. After today`s news. Let`s get behind the team.

I don`t think £26 is too much to pay to watch a football match.
It is well documented that all Scottish teams outside the Premier League are struggling.
We expect inspiring signings, but we don`t appear to be willing to pay for them.
Look at concert tickets now. Over £100 mostly.
You can barely get a tradesman for under £50 an hour.
Of course we don`t go to concerts 2 to 4 times a month though.
I see an issue when you take the kids, too, though. That can`t be easy.
£26 is OK for earning adults, I do think. We need to have cheaper tickets for families.
The benefit in buying season tickets should be much better too.

Yes, they cap them to prevent market value taking hold due to the cost of transport for away fans.
There would be many ways to compare,
A better comparison would be the cost a of cinema ticket in the 90s to the cost now. I`d be surprised if the cost of a football ticket in Scotland has kept up with the increases in other leisure activities.
A really interesting one would be how many hours at minimum wage would you require to work to buy a ticket, in that sense football tickets have never been cheaper!
D.A are the number one!

That is obviously the price they need to charge to provide the product and pay the overheads.
Whether it is value for money is neither here nor there.
They charge what they have to. You pay it or don`t go. Simples.
The alternative is that they drop the overheads, and the product depreciates further.

I don`t see how the quality could drop even further. We get beat off Forfar already.

Id be very worried as a Hamilton fan if they are having to charge £26 a ticket to cover overheads…..especially since the price will massively reduce the crowd size.
Nothing wrong with McCanns effort either, but his ability is more the question of value for money 😂 wee eck is so eager to be offended by things these days

I find it quite sad that someone feels the need to use a thread about another team`s prices as a way of having a go at one of our players.

If we had 11 Lewis Mccanns in our team then we`d do ok. His effort alone would make a good team.

When Leeds got relegated from the premiership, the £30s plenty no longer applied and they were charging away fans £46 for the worst part and viewing area in the ground .

You can charge £30 a head when you are getting tens of millions from tv deals and massive sales of kits, etc.
Smaller businesses are always more expensive. They have to charge what is necessary to function.
