And he was playing in a league higher with one of the worse teams in league. He would still offer a hell of alot more than McCann ever does or Wighton for that matter.

Remember watching May run us ragged whilst on loan to Hamilton (?) about 12 years ago.
Like I say. About 12 years ago.....

Only started 8 games though. The season before he was their top scorer with 10. The most Chris Kane ever scored in the league in 9 years at St Johnstone was 5.Fitness will be the issue with him, but I was surprised he was still only 31.
A long time ago, but he scored 25 for Hamilton in the Championship and then scored 27 the next season in the Premier(20 league goals) for St Johnstone. Livingston wouldn`t be my choice coming off serious injuries. If he stays fit and gets a run of games I think he will get goals for them-a lot of ifs, though.

If he stays injury free and gets up to speed he will get into double figures for the season.

Hes scored at least 30 goals alone in the last 5 years without knowing last seasons stats…….but don’t let facts get in the way 😂

22 according to Wikipedia.
Anyway, the last thing we need is a player with injury problems, this place would go into melt down if we had gone for him

Canny score if the build up play and general service the strikers get is brutal though which so far this season it has been

Better strikers get average teams out of the biggest of holes. Every team would kill for a Brian Graham/Simon Murray type. They bring the team further up the pitch and goals change everything.

We absolutely need a striker but we need other areas strengthened more.
We are just reliant on keeping Kane fit, he’s the only one still capable at this level.

At this point, no I wouldn’t sign Stevie may. If we had managed to offload wighton and McCann in the summer and hadn’t signed kane then I might have if he was cheap enough.
My main worry is that unless some quality comes in tomorrow we’ll be going out with the same team which really isn’t good enough and to me it’s a 6 pointer already as I expect them to struggle too.

To be fair our strikers are rotten and not good enough at this level. This is evident that the only one who looks like scoring is an untried Taylor Sutherland.
We have had strikers in the past who can make goals out of very little nisbet was good at it and also fais was great as creating goals for not only himself but moffat when they were a partnership. Could maybe argue Crawford and Brewster as well. None of our strikers do that.
Stevie may isn`t the answer imo but he probably isn`t worse than we currently have. That being said we would be signing another player who has a record of injuries and when we are running with a feather light squad with limited resources it`s too much of a risk.
c'mon the pars

Yeah kane is defo good enough if fit, but as with every other position in this team, the starter isn’t nearly up to it and the drop off is huge to who is on the bench.
Problem we have is that is Kane going to make the difference compared to a wighton when you look at the team as a whole? Doubtful given the lack of quality across the pitch and the way the team is set up tactically.
A new GK on the bench wouldn’t have got us any different result in our first 2 games. Something else needs to change and unless mcpake has been deliberately setting up to fail it’s going to have to be new better players coming in.
