DUNFERMLINE: Lewis Briggs: Andrew Tod, John Tod, Rhys Breen: Craig Clay, Josh Cooper, Michael O ‘Halloran, Joe Chalmers (c), Craig Wighton, Taylor Sutherland, Trialist
SUBS: Ewan McLeod, Freddie Rowe, Jake Sutherland, Liam Hoggan, Thomas Margetts (GK)

FALKIRK: Jamie Sneddon: Gavin McGregor, Leon McCann (c), Cameron McNab, Logan Sinclair, Michael McKenna, Rhys Walker, Caelan McCrone, Ryan Shanley, Flynn McCafferty, Frankie Aitchison
SUBS: Jay Mill, Aidan McCartney, Liam Carmichael, Lewis Main, Adam O’Connor, Gavin Dick, Finlay Brown, Ben Nelson, Owen Hayward (GK)

I presume the trialist is Mebude. I see the ref is Jamie McCunnie. Is that the ex-Pars player?

A forward player who scores and/or assists?

Somebody haud me up!

Raith and livi didn’t fancy him which seems strange if he turns out to be quite good.

Trialists can`t play in first-team competitive games. We`ll have to sign him if we want him to play.

The match report on COWS identified him as the trialist right from the start.

"Maybe Falkirk haven`t got much strength-
in-depth after all."

Exactly, they`ve been hyped up no end by
our own .net members. Probably the same
sack the manager Brigade, who if they had
been Falkirk supporters, would have had
McGlynn sacked two years ago, when they
failed to win promotion again.

Being brutally honest, it`s all chance in these leagues. Last season Raith could have won the league and competed for promotion most of the way. This season they can`t buy a win. Pretty much the same team.

As much as I hope Falkirk spectacularly fail, kudos to them for such a good run.

I think a lot of our issues relate to psychology. Although being positive won`t win you games, if you go out thinking you`ll lose, you won`t have the edge needed to win games.

McGlynn finished 2nd to us in his first season, won the league in the second season unbeaten, and is still unbeaten so far this season. Top of the league with two games in hand.

If he is being "Hyped up" it is absolutely well deserved.

Lol, I wouldn`t have called for his head after one season. I just can`t hate a team for the sake of it. I can also commend a job well done when I see it. Regardless of who it is.

I was the same with Iain Murray last season.

With what McGlynn is achieving, I`m actually quite envious. It is the trajectory I hoped for Mcpake.

The season we won the league they still had load of under contract players who were effectively expensive dead wood and mcglynn had to use what he had.

Once they were all out of contract and all punted their fortunes dramatically improved.

M Glynn knows how to set a team up, I’ll give him that

Not so sure on that Berkey. Majority seem to still be there.

Granted their goalie that season was pretty suspect from memory but their two most impressive players from games i saw were ones who moved on in Burrell and the Ukranian loanee who went back to St Johnstone (i won`t even attempt at spelling it....).

McIver does looks a huge upgrade on Garry Oliver up front. I don`t think Benedictus won a header against him all game in the 0-2 match a few weeks back.

Every time they signed a player that summer there was uproar on here. Coll Donaldson. Kai Kennedy. Gary Oliver. Stephen McGinn. Jordan Allan. Max Kuchieravi etc They were fully expected to romp League One according to some on here, with the squad they`d assembled.

Let`s not rewrite history. McPake utterly owned McGlynn that season.

I think McIvor got injured in the Celtic game so we`ll see how that affects them as he is a huge part of their success. The annoying thing is that they qualified for the knock out rounds of the League Cup while we were stinking the joint out so the money they`ll have made from gates, TV and prize money will be enough to get some good loanees in just now and a fee reinforcements in January.

Not really praising them they simply took the opportunity we couldn`t. It`s a well known fact how much a good cup run can help a club outside the top league. The BOD stated how important a good cup run was for us and we bottled it.

We were relegated with Mehmet McCann Wighton Todorov O`Hara, all your favourites all under contract but went again and won the league at an absolute canter so can`t use that as an excuse for McGlynns failure that season either.

McGlynn was viewed as a figure of fun on here when we were in League 1. Now he`s being hailed as some sort of footballing genius. Good luck to the guy. Success in football at the level we occupy tends to be fairly transient as his career record demonstrates.

When was the last time we had a good cup run? We probably have to go back to the Crawford era. This season we had a favourable group and could only beat Spartans. We also lost 2 games against lower league teams at home.

I think we did score some late winners in league 1. This is something that Raith also achieved last season. A Raith supporter told me they didn`t play particularly well but were managing to score. I think that sums up the fine line between the sides. The teams are all of a similar level in this league it`s about being clinical in front of goal and taking your chances.

In terms of Falkirk, I think others have said, and what the Reserve team result probably indicates is that they don`t have the depth tgat we have. Whether they will need that as the season progresses remains to be seen. All we can do is focus on ourselves.

I mean they got to the Scottish Cup final the year before last, but yeah let`s just erase that...

Anyway, good result for us in the Reserve game. It was a strong team albeit one playing in a strange system with both Tods at the back and Copper at left wing back. Don`t know why they are sticking with 3 at the back when the first team are now playing with a 4 and we had to play midfielders at centre back in this game. Also think that the game could have easily been played at Rosyth for all the crowd that was there, going by the pictures I`ve seen. The under 18s played there the other night and it was fine enough.

When the management team and players start singing these songs, then I`ll lose respect for them and their current achievements.

Until then, the position they have found themselves in has to be commended.

There`s quite a big difference between hatred and a failure to believe that one of our fiercest rivals, whom we humbled two seasons ago, have suddenly found the key to lasting success. Or indeed seeming to revel in the situation.

By the way, what was stopping McPake from playing three CBs on Saturday against PT, or in the previous match against the Rovers if he wanted to?

Absolutely nothing wee eck absolutely nothing at all stopping him and that fact that he hasn’t done so shows he’s got players at the back now that he feels comfy enough to play a back 4 but weemike clearly won’t let that get in the way of having a pop at the manager just for the sake of it

Guaranteed we will be back to 3 at the back by the new year.

You said `first chance he gets`, now it`s 'guaranteed' by the New Year; such remarkable foresight! Maybe it`ll depend on who we`re playing against but who knows for sure?

Have you seen us the passed 2 years? His preferred setup is 3 at the back. You`re awfully argumentative.

It was three at the back until recently. If you post stuff that isn`t accurate you shouldn`t be surprised if people challenge it. Are we all supposed to agree with you automatically? It`s a forum for goodness sake.

What`s not accurate about the managers preference for 3 at the back? hence why the youth team is still playing that way.

Maybe 3 at the back suits that team and the personnel available. Nothing wrong with that formation if you have suitable players

Accept what? That we played four at the back for 2 games in a row.

I`d be very surprised if we went the rest of the season without 3 at the back being our main lineup.

As I`ve said before, the manager prefers it. And if it gets results, there is nothing wrong with it.

Someone asked why is the reserves playing 3 at the back when the first team is playing four.

To summerise.

4 at the back is a temporary solution to our loss of form. I believe the manager will revert us back to 3 at the back as soon as he can.

Despise F*lkirk and their fans and the fact McGlynns got away scot free with signing Goodwillie in his previous role - but fair play to them for still being unbeaten (league wise) and getting through in cup - we could have done with that large pay packet they will have got from a game at Parkhead.

On that though, they didn’t look overwhelmingly great against us earlier in the year, but shows how poor we have started this season.

"You`re a better man than the vast majority on both sides including me.

Fk them. And McGlynn the rape apologist. And their horrible fans."

Vast majority ? How do you come to that conclusion ?

You can`t brand all fans of a club based on the behaviour of a relatively small bunch of numpties.

We have a similar group that fall into the same category unfortunately.

Right, first of all my post you quoted was a bit extreme, apologies if I've offended any Pars fans who have Falkirk as their other team. Thoughts and prayers etc.....

Secondly, yes I guarantee 100% that the vast majority of our fans would rather Falkirk got beat every week rather than remain invincible for the rest of the season unlike our friend weemike.

Thirdly......who you calling a numpty? 😄

I`d rather they got hammered every week and went str8 back down.

But it`s highly unlikely.

Ideally I`d want Falkirk to do slightly worse than the Pars every season. Tugging at our coat tails and keeping us on our toes, but always falling slightly short.

I was exorcised of any “other team” clandestine affiliations in the Middle Ages, although I do like to see the Wasps doing well, just a local weakness.

I would think that all Pars fans are comfortable when Falkirk draw, or better still lose !!!
