That £40m fee, which sounded crazy for a relatively unproven player, is now looking like very good business.

Watching his almost perfect display against Brighton, where he scored 4 but could have had 6, cheered me up a bit after the, let`s be honest, soul-less display at East End Park.

You have to think Pep & Co are kicking themselves now. Palmer wanted more game time, but Pep couldn`t/wouldn`t give him any guarantees so he decided his future lay elsewhere.
Not your average Sunday League player.

Gareth Southgate didn`t give him a single start for England in the Euros and they were awful going forward!

He`s a wonderful player. The pundits who compared him to Bergkamp are bang on, IMO opinion.

I kind of feel the same about Phil Foden, although perhaps he would not stand out so much in a team other than Man City.

I must admit I didn`t know much about Cole Palmer. I see he has West Indian ancestry (specifically St Kitts) on his father`s side. He has had a significant influence on his career as has his mother. It must have taken a lot of guts and self-belief to leave Manchester City for Chelsea.

He’s from Wythenshawe, Manchester. His family are all United fans and his Dad named him Cole after Andy Cole. Sadly United showed no interest in the early years and City picked him up at 8 years old.
In typical fashion United will probably pay £100m to get him back North. Marvellous footballer and so naturally gifted.
