Iβve switched it off now. Too much of a non-event now.
Also Iβm not enjoying seeing how far behind Europe Scottish football actually is

Yaaaas there`s something about 7 that`s much, much, much worse than 6. You`re through the looking glass of peltings at that point.

It actually looked quite ominous for Celtic after BVB`s first attack because they seemed to slice through the Celtic defence very easily. Rogers has never had any success in European competition to date and he`s looking quite naive tonight. Maybe a little of the James McPake caution would have at least kept the score respectable.

Apparently Brendan Rodgers is the only manager to have been in charge of a team that has conceded 7 goals in a CL match more than once - and he`s done it three times!

Brendan Rodgers has lost at least six goals away from home in a UCL game in every season he`s been at Celtic.
2016: 7-0 vs Barcelona
2017: 7-1 vs PSG
2023: 6-0 vs Atletico
2024: 7-1 vs Dortmund

Wee diddy teams like Celtic and Rangers should merge so they have a chance to compete with the big teams.
They could sell their grounds for housing and build a new stadium and their supporter base would be practically doubled.
I`m sure their would be some resistance from older fans, but they`d soon get used to it if they were getting beat by less.

That marks the end of Scotland`s automatic Champions League group entry. After that performance, this is probably a good thing.

I didn`t lose any sleep over Celtic`s absolute humping, but it`s quite sobering when you consider that they are by far the best team in Scotland right now. When I started following the Pars in the 60s, Scottish teams would expect to beat teams from the likes of France and Germany and usually did. The Pars knocked out Bordeaux and Stuttgart, as I recall. We also eliminated Everton and West Brom, of course.it`s true that European clubs have made great strides since then, but Scottish clubs have regressed, making the turnaround even more stark.
Celtic might have avoided such a total pasting if Rodgers hadn`t set his team up to be so gung ho. Did he really think his bhoys would be a match for BVB? Deluded if he did.
Not your average Sunday League player.

The champions of each country should always get automatic entry to the champions league.
