From COWS :-
It is now several weeks since DAFC Fussball GmbH signalled their intention to seek new investors to take on the management and running of the football club.
This process is progressing at pace and the level of interest and calibre of potential investor is encouraging. Several groups have signed Non-Disclosure Agreements to allow them to carry out in-depth analysis of the opportunity.
We have to respect the confidentiality of these interested parties throughout this process, however, we do intend to update supporters further once we are in a position to do so as we are aware of how important this topic is to you.
It is important to note that DAFC Fussball GmbH, Dunfermline Athletic Football Club Ltd and Pars United CIC are working collaboratively on this process to ensure that any new investor is well positioned to build upon the strong foundations that are in place and to help realise the great potential of our club.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

It does sound encouraging. Some of them must like what they see after the initial enquiry but I`m also wary that others will probably just be tyre kickers

While there is nothing set in stone in that statement it`s the most positive piece of news from the club this year.

I think investment needs to be prioritised a bit more, yes I think investing in youth can only better us in the future, but short term invest where we need to, invest in the first team and get a team on the park that is going to get us where we want to be and this will attract youngsters who we can train from a young age, and if we keep them fine or sell them on then it’s win win.

We need to get new owners on board first. It`ll be up to them how they spend their money.

Defo a positive, no idea on timescales but would be great to see new owners in by the end of the year, particularly if we needed to change things to stay up.
Given our league position it feels very much like nailing jelly to a wall in terms of what the club is actually worth.

I actually just put a line on for that sole reason. I`m not that into money or material possessions but it would be good to have money to waste on The Pars

Stadium needs a lot of work with repairs.
Our training ground needs actual training facilities.
If I was a new investor I would wait untill all the deadwood players are released from their contracts at the end of the season.
BUT this would depend on if we stay in the Championship. Relegated and you are just throwing your money away.
Mon the Pars!

There must be a whole host of investors looking to throw money into a club that lost 1 million the last time they were in Division 1 .

Well some must be or they wouldn`t be carrying out due diligence. I`m surprised anyone invests in `provincial` Scottish football clubs but it happens all the time.

I`m obviously not an accountant, but do some businesses not just need to either lose some cash, or pay tax on it?
Running a club like us reasonably efficiently could just be another opportunity to promote the existing company more than earn a wad from the football club.

Not really wrong though. Why would you spend probably in the region of £2m to buy a club who have considerable losses the last few years ? Remembering you are inheriting the debt.
We don`t know who said investors are it might be the same bunch who have tried to buy umpteen English clubs and have been denied at every opportunity as they can`t pass the ownership test set out by the FA.
It might be guys who buy the club funded by bank loans and when he can`t offset them he sells us in a worse state than we are at present.
It`s good we have options although hard to make an accurate decision on the quality the options bring for the club without information on who they are. Obviously the club can`t give us this so it`s just a case of waiting to see.

Due diligence goes 2 ways. The current board, not just GmbH, will also be checking potential investors. With the stadium being separate from the FC, and land designated by Fife Council as recreational, that should help to ensure serious bids. I’d guess it’ll be a group rather than an individual.

You don’t inherit debt though as the club doesn’t have any. Losses aren’t debt, Germans investment covers the losses and provides working capital. Amazing how many people see losses as debt
Happy to stand corrected on that. Although principal is still similar the calibre of investors willing to invest in a club losing a substantial amount on an annual basis probably won`t be the saviour that most fans want. You have seen that in England lower league clubs struggling end up attracting the wrong kind of investors.

Why the negative speculation? Maybe someone sees the pretty obvious potential in a club like ours. At this level we have a very strong, pretty loyal fan base. We have a stadium most clubs at our level would kill for. We have a large catchment area just waiting for someone to capture it. We also have the beginnings of a decent training facility if we continue to go down that path.

Giovanni Di Stefano the convicted fraudster along with other crimes and one time owner of Dundee before liquidation was on X with a video ranting about the liquidation.
Someone though replied saying Dunfermline were available which got an “I know” from the man himself!
Are some people seriously that desperate? Or stupid? My god I’d rather have Trump investing than him and that’s saying something!

Clearly people that matter (ie not you) must think there`s something worth looking at, so that`s a positive. If we get new owners they`ll bring a fresh perspective on things and maybe bring out the best in what`s already at the club?

The Caledonian Braves are a good example of how to seek investment in their club and putting in place a methodology to attract interest from around the globe. I am sure there will be no shortage in interest as its more about the potential of the club rather than its current operating model.
