They have appointed Neil Critchley to replace Steven Naismith. He was a coach at Liverpool and got Blackpool promoted to the Championship in his first stint there. He was subsequently assistant to Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa before brief spells at QPR and again at Blackpool which both ended in the sack. On the face of it he seems a very strange choice.

Just picked up the paper and saw that. Very odd appointment for a club at that level, especially when you consider his disastrous time at Blackpool & QPR. I think the appointment will be another disaster for Hearts, in the way that Lee Johnston was for Hibs.

I’m with you on that. There is a lot of very average players/coaches/managers in England that think because they’re coming from England that it’ll be easy up here.
The ones that are successful buy into the club and the culture.
