Not a fan at all, especially with Otoo playing at the back. Crazy to think we have two centre backs on the bench and only one on the park!
Hoping that Todd is playing centrally and that we create some chances but not looking forward to today.

I know the usual suspects will say I`m "picking on" him but Chalmers really is poor, isn`t he. Great chance within 4 minutes - loads of time to get into the box and shoot, but didn`t. If he`s not confident about then that`s poor for a pro footballer. But to then play such a terrible pass to Ngwenya when a simple ball in front of him would lead to a great chance. Then a silly booking for hauling a boy down rugby style that he somehow got away with.
Just to prove I`m not just anti-Chalmers, McCann is also having a shocker! He did set up the best chance of the match, just unfortunately it was at the wrong end.
Ritchie-Hosler and Ngwenya started off well but we`ve let them back into it now. Worrying.

Raymie you could argue that’s been the case for quite a lot of our forward thinking players who haven’t been dropped.
Not sure what it is with dapo, does he feel better than this level? Refuses the option to pass to a teammate way too often.

Agree he`s got a lot to learn. What he gives you though is something unexpected. Too much of our play is in front of the opposition defenders, where he runs at them and commits them.

Decent start to the half but it was a decent start to the first half too. Ritchie-Hosler has to score though. An even bigger sitter than the Hamilton one a couple of weeks back.
Dapo on for Kane to some loud boos. Can only presume Kane isn`t fully fit as I`m sure most were expecting McCann to come off. Don`t know if that`s affecting us on the park but Airdrie have weathered the storm and are coming back into it.

Great to get the win! It was a very important 3 points especially with Morton grabbing a late winner. We seriously have to improve if we’re going to climb the table though. Two poor teams today who failed many times when the basics but the frustrating thing is we’ve seen how good we can be after the Raith and Livi games. We have a tough game next week but it’s against a team who are leaking goals so we need to learn to be more clinical and punish mistakes more often!

Well done to the players, effort was there as usual.
Actually think comrie is going unnoticed for having a pretty good season, Ngwenya surprisingly coming good as well.
That said we are absolutely humming, our attacking play is either not worked on enough or terribly coached. Mcpake was rightfully booed for the Kane sub as Mcann was hopeless and done his absolute best to miss his goal.
A massive win, not for Mcpake but for keeping us up. It will be interesting to hear his interview.

Hard fought victory today. Airdrie I felt after an burst early on came for a point. We were the better team again today. I thought the Kane substitution was the right one. Lewis McCann was getting pushed and pulled and closed down by two defenders so Airdrie made it hard for him. He looks much better running through the middle going at goal. He can be frustrating, but I believe he is developing into a goalscorer. A little but more anticipation I think to be in the right place at the right time. I thought KRH played quite well today. He has added the defensive role to his game.
Defensively today we were solid, a couple of jittery moments but overall we managed the game out. I`d like to see Joe Chalmers having a go when he gets into positions. He is a good passer of the ball so should be able to test the keeper with a well placed shot.
Solid performance and deserved victory .

Not sure on the timeline for the possible new owners and investment but if it’s int eh next 2 months this team could look quite different and certainly a different management team.
You can see with clay now being dropped for chalmers and Dapo dropped that there is no way we should give mcpake anymore money to bring players in.
Mcpake doing his bit today to make absolutely certain of the payoff too if he was actually antagonising the fans who are watching this dross by cupping his ear. Pretty much no one wants him at the club and a performance like today’s doesn’t really change that.
Morton winning means we had to win, only way we’re climbing the table is to win 2 league games in a row, that’s likely going to take an away win and we haven’t managed that so far. Airdrie look a good bet to mean we’re in little threat of auto relegation.

He done well to put himself in place to mis-kick his goal in - aye it was a mistake-kick.
He also put a couple of good balls into the box, one of which KRH should have buried.
I’d say extremely poor first half.
Decent enough second half but still large room for improvement but just the fact he scored folk will come in here and talk like he’s Dunfermline Athletics messiah 🤷🏻♂️

Personally I think we are a better team this season than last. It`s maybe taken time to get going, but at least we are starting to pick up points. We have a good squad so losing an individual player to injury will not hurt us as it did last season. We are physically stronger which will be important over the next quarter of the season.

McPake is safe so long as we are in touch with this group, or we get new owners who can spend.

Seriously, are you all really so offended by this. He`s already up for execution, and it`s pure speculation.
Not speculation I`ve seen it for myself but whatever floats your boat.
But you have no idea why. Are you really going to ask him?
After the abuse he and McCann have had on here, surely you can take a cupped ear.
If not, maybe they can get a supply of dummies in the club shop.

My completely speculative and uninformed guess is that he`s taken some poison from behind him in the main stand for the Kane sub, probably partly directed at McCann and then not long after, McCann scores and in the heat of the moment he reacts. Probably targeted at one or two individuals.

If we were second in the league having just pumped Airdrie 3-0 he’d have a point but we’re no.
We’re second bottom only cos Airdrie are miles off the pace. We’re literally in a relegation scrap and just sat and watched the only player who looked like doing anything being subbed off. McCann with a lucky mistake scores 🤷🏻♂️
James McPake doesn’t deserve to be Dunfermline manager anymore.
He sorted the team out brilliantly for the League 1 campaign, he dealt with the injuries for last season as well as anyone but this seasons a joke. I’d still like him to prove us wrong but the last thing he should do is cup his ears at the fans

Did anyone else hear the post-match interview with the Pars` fan on Radio Scotland? During it Allan Preston, who is an agent of course, confirmed that McPake missed out on a few of his prime targets in the transfer window because of the length of process required to approve a signing.
McPake said in his post-match interview that his substitution of Kane was precautionary based on how he had reacted to the protocols in training since his concussion two weeks ago. By the way, the post-match interview on COWS isn`t a club one, it`s with media representatives so I imagine they can ask what they like. I don`t think anyone mentioned him `cupping his ear`.

A rocket was clearly put up McCanns @rse at half time, he had a much better 2nd half, and his finish was outstanding.
1st half was woeful, very few got passmarks beyond the back line. All over the place, baffling decision making, folk making runs to the wrong places, not making runs when they should be, sh*te passing (when the ball was actually on the ground). Thankfully a good talking to sorted most of that out, but it was still a huff and puff to get the 3 points, when we really should be comfortable at home.
Our goal between now and January is just keep up with the 2 or 3 ahead of us and hope our potential new owners fire in enough cash to get quality in.

Of the recent games I have seen, I think the performances have improved. The results have been improving as well with that. Games we would have normally lost we have drawn, with wins where we may have drawn. Missing out on transfer targets is part of the game and I firmly believe the squad we have is capable of challenging near the top. We are where we are so it`s about looking ahead not back. The right approach today would have been to clap Kane off and clap Dapo on. We need to lift morale and get behind every player who pulls the jersey on in my view. Everyone wants success for the club there is no lack of effort. The fans can make the difference at home. The support has been very quiet over the last few weeks that negates alot of the advantage you msy have.

McPake was getting it tight when he took Kane off. However, I guess he knows more about the Kane situation with fitness, etc, than those of us in the NW.
I have heard a lot of the abuse that gets aimed at him and Cook, amongst others, so, in perspective, I have no issue with an ear cupping.

Any chance we could try to avoid being needlessly aggressive and unpleasant towards each other for a bit? I know the football has been grim recently which makes this stuff more likely but I`m finding it really offputting. Especially when it`s after a win.
Anyway, dreadful game but a great result. Not really much in the game but the breaks went more in our favour today while recently, last week in particular, they`ve tended to go against us.
After getting a lead we weren`t really in much danger. Not sure on the big penalty shout shortly after the goal, looked like it could have been given but I didn`t have a great angle. After that big scare we got through it OK, though the `slow it down` stuff wasn`t especially effective. Escpecialy the one where we had a free kick in a decent position, played it short and passed it straight out of the park for a shy. Benedictus and Comrie both had good games at the back, McCann was much better in the second half than the first.
Happy with any win just now, and we could do with winning a few more tight games in the weeks to come.

A win and 3 points I would have taken that at 15:00. The first half was not our best, a few passes when we should have had a shot at goal. Airdrie created a few chances and a reasonable penalty shout? Second half we were much better and a good strike by McCann. Got to concede I was miscalling him for a poor start to the game. But he obviously has lots to offer, strength, skill energy and a huge work ethic. Not sure what his best position is? Benedictus is a tremendous leader and deservedly got Player of the Match. Another tough game next week, but there is not an easy game in this league.

3 points achieved but that was torture to watch once again. Just listened to Mcpake`s post match comments. 2 points he made, one that McCann scored a brilliant goal. Looked to me like he schlaffed it into the net but I will give him the benefit of the doubt until I watch it again. His second point was that Matty Todd was the best player on the park by miles. I have no idea what he thinks he is watching. Todd was poor today along with many others and should have been subbed off. That win is just papering over the cracks. Playing at home to a poor, bottom of the table Airdrie and trying to hang on rather than go for a second goal was a dangerous strategy.

Intelligent response.
He’s supposed to be a professional football manager for christ sake. As others have said above. We’ve had to endure months of awful football/results and he’s got the cheek to turn to the fans and cup his ears. The same fans who are still turning up to endure this garbage and support the team.
If these investors get on board I hope the first thing they do is give him the boot because it’s been a long time coming.

Results have been unacceptable and fans are rightly peeved and frustrated.
We’ve made hard work of beating a team who have one point from their last 10 games( ironically against us) now, and he’s mocking the people who financially support the club.
Not on for me and tough to come back from that in the long term.

Not long home and settled down after my tea. That was eye bleeding stuff at times, really it was, but I said to my son before the game that I didn’t care how we played this week..I just wanted to win and we have done so I’m delighted.
It was a case of 2 poor teams going head to head though, but we did have Tobi to thank for still being in the game, after another fantastic save in the First Half. Was it a penalty in the second…..we may have gotten away with one there, it looked it from my seat in the North Stand, but with the diving and time wasting that Airdrie showed, their fans have a cheek with the chants that followed.
Fair play to McCann for the goal, I actually thought he had missed it initially, he seemed to slip just as he hit it, but I was in on cloud 9 when it hit the net. He’ll be happy with his goal, but surely not about his overall play which was better in the Second Half but very poor throughout.
Most of what I was going to say has been covered above, but delighted to be able to have a few weeks looking above us now, rather than worry about below.

I thought Bene was the MoM. He kept everyone going and was solid defensively. I thought Comrie ran a close second, but I think the team generally stood up well. Lewis McCann is a dichotomy, as are most strikers. He has goals in him, and that`s what we need. The Kane substitution was a fairly obvious one. I`d like to see more movement off the ball by Dapo. He has good balance, so if he can create space for himself, he will score goals for us.

Id love to know what you constitute as abuse…….Id say if folk were calling him a far, baldy, ugly b@stard then fair enough, thats uncalled for - but is that what the “abuse” is?
Or is it just people fed up with us underperforming consistently and him not being very good at his job?
In most lines of work, the customer is king, as they can sack anyone from the CEO downwards by spending their money (or not spending it in a footballing sense) elsewhere……managers in other companies would be out the door for under achieving on a weekly basis. Why is this different?

The next time I`m in the supermarket I must remember to shout abuse at the staff because I pay their wages!
In that case we should all pop along to customer services on Monday and ask for our money back as what we sold isn’t fit for purpose.

Why was the Kane substitution an obvious one?
He had been taken off the previous week or so due to concussion. It was widely reported that due to the rules around concussion, it would be a slow return. He hasn`t fully trained, and I thought that showed a bit as the game went on. The substitution was right for the player.

Some folk just love to be offended! I`ve no idea if McPake `cupped his ear` - I was too busy celebrating the goal - but, if he did, how does it compare with the abuse that is dished out on here every week to him and others who have no possibility to respond?
The fans pay his wages if he can`t take a few folk shouting at him then football management isn`t for him.
I hope you don`t work at a bank, energy company or public sector body then. If you do - quit whining and fix that road/increase my savings rate/reduce my leccy bill!

I work in a public facing job and I can confidently say if I performed as poorly as mcpake I`d have been asked a long time ago.

Depends on if you think that scraping to two 1-0 wins against poorer opposition is a real achievement? Did you not say earlier that today’s game wasn’t exactly enthralling?

I said it was brutal. I`m just saying he`d argue he`s not underachieving winning the last 2 games.

McPake is going nowhere. Until new owners come in why would our current owners sack him and the have to pick another. Our new owners might want to bring in someone on 200k a year instead of done one on 60k. Or keep the current manager and give him 2 better players for that money in January

If he’s still feeling the effects of the concussion he shouldn’t have been playing. I’ll 100% guarantee that Kane, McPake and the medical team were all happy that he was clear of anything to do with the concussion otherwise, he wouldn’t have played. He’ll already have been through his slow return, a league match isn’t part of a slow return.
