I may be expressing a minority view, but given the severity of the forecast, it was surely incumbent on the SPFL to step in yesterday and cancel today`s football card? While this might not have been popular with teams playing at home (games rescheduled in midweek will invariably attract smaller crowds), the safety of players and fans must be paramount. If one person was to die or be seriously injured as a result of travelling to a game, the SPFL must shoulder at least some responsibility for failing to postpone today`s fixtures.
Not your average Sunday League player.

Should have reached out to clubs to find out travel plans - clubs that went on the Friday can go ahead if fine; clubs that didn’t should have had early call offs based on the travel conditions. Poor organisation again from the league. Delaying kick offs isn’t ideal either.

It`s a tough one. If games were postponed every time the weather forecast was bad there would be a lot that are called off and could have been played. This leads to big issues late in the season with backlog.
As a fan I think you have to make your own decision not to travel if things don`t look good. Otherwise you understand the risks.
Not sure the decision is one for the clubs either. You just end up with vested interests interfering and arguments about sporting fairness. Like our "burst pipe" that came at a convenient time last season.

I`m sure we have had games postponed by Police Scotland when the pitch was playable, but conditions in the surrounding areas were deemed dangerous for fans coming to the game.

Isn`t part of the problem today that road conditions around central Scotland have been worse than forecast? I wasn`t expecting as much snow as there was in Edinburgh this morning.

Come on guys. I think with the Internet and general information flow these days it should be up to the individual whether they want to take the risk or not.
I don`t think the SPFL making decisions for us is ever a good idea. If the games on then it`s up to the individual fans to decide if its worth the risk. No need for the SPFL to make this call, just leave it up to the clubs.

Yes. But, according to sportsound, they messaged all clubs yesterday encouraging them to postpone today’s games. Only 2 games were postponed as a result of their message. It seems mental to suggest the SPFL should be blamed for clubs choosing not to postpone games, when the option is there.

I get that, par-91, but the home clubs are always going to resist any "encouragement to postpone a Saturday pm game, because of the anticipated drop in revenue when the game usually has to be played in midweek, and you can`t honestly blame them.
Would calling these games off yesterday not have been preferable to having fans and players travelling considerable distances in poor driving conditions only to find their games had been postponed late in the day?
