 Team for Linoville
Topic Originator: desparado

Deep down we are all football managers eh ?

My attempt for Rovers would be..4141

Tobi
Comrie. Young. Bene. Ngwenya.

Otoo.

KRH. Cooper. Todd. McCann.

Kane (Mebude )

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

I would try and play Cooper and Mbude together as they do compliment each other so that might mean McCann being a tall no 9 and a target for Tobi long kicks. I’d sacrifice KRH to do that

But he`s absolutely gash in the air though. See Hamilton`s goal at the weekend for evidence. His timing is brutal.

Sonofpetrie … I don’t think he’s gash but your point has merit. Not many true no 9’s with a good head around these days. If he makes nuisance of himself ( and McCann does score some headers) there’s two nippy ones behind him to pick up the loose ball ?

We shouldn`t be talking about this. How could anyone possibly know better than our infallible manager.

Do any of you know how the Rovers are likely to set up?

Their manager prefers 4 at the back with 2 sitting midfielders to cover the full backs going forward
They usually play with 3 in behind 1 striker with Easton either floating about or pulling wide to allow Stanton to support further forward

I can`t see a combative, in-your-face midfielder like Hamilton being replaced by Cooper, who couldn`t tackle a rice pudding far less a fish supper, especially in a Fife derby. Clay is more likely to replace him I would say.

I am pretty sure JM will bring Clay in as he is more combative. Yes he can tackle better than Cooper but that’s about it from what I have seen. Cooper has pace, is direct, can make and take chances. Clay has none of these attributes.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Cooper HAS to start. More than merited. Rovers are there for the taking. I want us to take it. None of this cagey sussing out how the game is going caper. Right in about it from the first whistle.

With our current back four, a confident keeper and Otoo sitting ( breaking forward when the time is right ) we have enough to keep it tight. If Clay plays it will be more of the same , trying to sneak a draw stuff. Get our best attacking options on from the start and get right in aboot thum….at least we might go down with a fight as opposed to the usual whimper….away from home

That doesn`t really work. He`s predicting what the manager will do - based on what the manager has done before.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

Sure I saw on rovers Facebook that brown will likely be out and they have a few other injuries.

Usual keeper

Comrie fogarty bene ngwenya

KRH Todd otoo clay mebude

Kane

This is what I predict mcpake will go with. Clay sitting deep and Todd pushing up. Given the lack of options I can’t really see much else, lack of quality or in form players going forward. Really hoping Kane fit as we do not have a decent replacement.

Cooper made a good impact but for me he’s an impact sub at best at this level and can’t see him getting ahead of Todd, clay or Otto in the middle of the park.

KRH really has been a disappointment so far and has struggled after returning from injury.

Absolutely agree on KRH, done next to nothing in this league for us bar the United game last season.

Would likely have been another one in and out of the team if there was any alternatives. Mcpake saddling us with too many centre midfielders and wotherspoon who doesn’t have the legs to play on the wings has left us playing out of form players and hoping they come good.

The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity!

I`d have thought he`d be more of a Mebude replacement than a Clay, Todd or Otoo replacement Berkey, no?

Cooper made a goal 2 weeks ago , dropped to bench.
Last week scored ,and folk are talking about him not starting, because we have so many players scoring goals ?
