Our better players like Cuthbert, Weir, Thomas aren`t getting on the ball enough
Poorest half I`ve seen from Sam Kerr
Getting some success from Emslie on the left but on the right , Evans just can`t make the step up when playing against better players

Scotland have been really poor . I can`t recall one decent chance .
We need to scrape a win here , as I can`t see us doing anything in Finland .

Manager is as negative as our own. Wants everything to be slow and ponderous when we were getting a wee bit of joy with pace down the wings. Should have been sacked after the loss to Ireland IMO

The only positive I can see is that Martha Thomas was only fit enough to play 60 minutes last night as she had been ill during the week. A full 90 minutes from her on Tuesday would help with Hanson starting and more involvement from Cuthbert and Weir. Last night I was wondering if Caroline had been subbed without me noticing in the second half.

Pretty poor show from Caroline Weir over all gave the ball away a lot , maybe not up to pace yet after her injury

I think the keeper could have done better there. It didn`t seem to move that much.

The likes of Sky are spending loads of money promoting the women’s game. Each to their own, but it’s not for me until the standard improves.

The standard won`t improve by folk ignoring it. We need more girls playing and aspiring to play at a higher level.

Some tidy enough build up play but once into the final third it`s been pretty woeful. :-(

A bit like the men`s side - no natural goalscorer - but no goals from midfield either amongst the women.

I think a change in manager is inevitable now.

Another failure which means they haven`t qualified for the last 3 tournaments. This alongside the embarrassment that is our men`s u21s side doesn`t make good reading for the SFA.

Most folk don`t care about the woman`s team or u21 team, just look at attendance numbers for the games with 38000 free tickets offered up every game, so im pretty sure the SFA won`t be losing sleep over it.

Well, it`s a major part of their remit to develop the game so they should be worried.

Wales have just taken the lead against Ireland in their qualifier from a penalty awarded by VAR for handball. I don`t think they had VAR in Helsinki where we had a similar shout for a pen.

I just don’t get how anyone can watch a full 90mins of a woman’s football game…it’s utterly dreadful and brutal to watch. And before any of the woke start saying oh your sexist blah blah…..nah the woman’s game is brutal to watch and laughable at times when they play.

So what`s the answer? Nobody is forced to watch it but if you want to encourage women to play football it`s got to get some kind of exposure on TV.

It`s came on massively in recent years at all levels but it still lacks a bit of credibility, even at the top level, with the old quip about the goalkeepers.

Watching the recent Old Firm game on SKY with my son and daughter - who both play - and each commented on how poor the goalies were.

Now they will be getting the same coaching as everyone, likely even more so given their position with dedicated one-to-one GK coaches yet it`s still the same things that stand out and were used to criticise and bash women`s football ten years ago; a routine ball whipped in above head height and there`s a reasonable assumption it`s going to be a goal.

Not really sure what is the answer? Smaller goals? Size 4 footballs?

They could start by scouting the Netball and Basketball ranks for talent: taller players, better hands.

Women’s football has come on leaps and bounds in recent years, in terms of talent, technique and professionalism. Goalkeeping standards remains its Achilles Heel, however.

It`s a real egg on the face for the SFA we have failed yet again to qualify for a major finals when you look at the team we have.

We have the following players playing in the English leagues : Kirsty smith ( west ham) Sophie Howard( Leicester city) Rachel MacLaughlin (Brighton) Jenna Clark (Liverpool) Erin Cuthbert (Chelsea) Martha Thomas (Tottenham) Kirsty Hanson ( Aston Villa) Emma Watson (Manchester United)

Foreign leagues

Caroline Weir (Real Madrid) Sam Kerr (Bayern Munich) Claire Emslie (L.A)

Not to mention the players in the Scottish league. We have one of the best players in the women`s game in Caroline Weir so not to qualify is simply not good enough.

I do find the quality of the women`s game not the same as the men`s that`s obviously going to be the case as the funding and grass roots fundamentals haven`t been in place for the same period of time. But I watch most Scottish national team games.

I do find the comment about the u21s a strange one as surely a strong under 21s squad should only mean a stronger mens squad ?

c'mon the pars

I see woke and virtue signaling have been mentioned already - classic.

My lass plays in a local youth team so it`s disappointing from her perspective in terms of role models and all that but I guess she deserves to be as as exposed to abject mediocrity like us blokes growing up. Good old Scotland.

You`re best watching womens football through a different lens and appreciating that things like the physicality will be fundamentally different. Plus, it`s still in a growth phase so the quality is just not going to be there.

But honestly, if you`re going to resort to absolute nonsense like `woke` this or `virtue signaling` that then you`re better just shutting your pus.

I wonder how the critics of women`s football would react if a female family member or friend expressed some interest in taking up the game?

Then just don’t watch it - it’s really that simple.

The laughable thing is a bunch of men, who probably failed themself as footballers, mocking women playing for their country to try make themself feel better, rather than being supportive or just not watching at all.

Mens and women’s sports have always been different levels, it’s nothing new.

See yet again I get abuse for not liking woman’s football game. I never said anything about Girls football where parents go and watch them play week in/out…that’s great and hope they continue/enjoy the game.
I was talking about professional woman players that are just brutal and can’t play football. Goals should be made smaller as woman goalkeepers can’t handle the big goals…I would never say anything against girls playing football up to U18 level but the pros etc needs a lot of work just to entertain people.

Have you watched the DAFC men`s team in the last 3 years ? absolutely brutal football ability, and should be sacked as professional footballers.

That’s my point….You can’t ever compare men’s football to woman’s.
It’s like night and day with the way football is played. And I’m only talking about their games on tv..it’s brutal to watch.
Young girls coming up through grassroots level etc Iv not got a problem with at all as the football can only get better.

Where do you think the girls started who are now playing international football? Are you suggesting women`s football should just stay at grass roots level?

I remember when Caroline Weir first came to prominence, guys on here remembered when she used to join in kickabouts with the boys where she lived. Nobody could get the ball off her apparently.

Apart from Sol Bamba , Caroline Weir is the only Pars connected player to get to such a high level, internationally.

Just give up mate. "Woke" and claiming "sexism" that was purely in your head has exposed you. No one would take anything you say seriously now.

Right decision in my opinion.

The Scottish FA can confirm that Pedro Martínez Losa has left his role as Scotland Women’s National Team Head Coach.
