Once again, McPake baffles us with his team selection. I think he must pull names out of a hat or something.

Honestly us loosing today could be the nail in the coffin. The next 3 games are Falkirk Patrick and Ayr. Can’t see a single point from any of them.

He has to go if we lose today but he won’t. He’s one of the luckiest managers in football as a semi-competent board would have got rid of him last season. The line ups baffle me every week, especially the attack. I’m still convinced the squad we have is capable of at least mid table with a better manager. McPake would have the current Falkirk team in the same position we are if he managed them.

Who`s turn is it for the triple substitution this week?

Hopefully we can comeback but the stats make damning reading for us when we conceed first.

1 point from all our away games this season. A damning stat. We all need to club together for the Falkirk game and make it clear we want him cleared ASAP. Get the banners ready troops, and make it clear as possible. This is unacceptable. Hope the guys braving it out there are giving it to him and the board tight. Shambles.

Would love to say I’m sitting here bothered by this but I genuinely couldn’t care less. Complete apathy knowing full well we could get gubbed in double figures and it wouldn’t make a difference.

Currently on 15 pts at half way stage, double it and we get 30 (I know that’s not how it works but anyway) - it really doesn’t bode well for our survival chances. Thankfully Airdrie are even worse but our playoff record is appalling

We love Dunfermline We do!

It`s a common theme that we seem to lose goals from corners on a regular basis or teams punt the ball into the box and it seems to be mayhem from us defending and often as no they score from this too
Once we go a goal behind i never feel very confident that we will get anything from a game , because we cannot take our chances when they come along !

Thread of our season.

Gifting goals. Unable to take chances. I seen an article about our statistics and it showed basically that.

If it’s no done today, it’ll be done on the evening of the 27th, I’m pretty sure of that. Grangemouth will humiliate us with the way we’re playing. I’m honestly considering not attending

It all started when we were reluctant to compete at the start of the transfer window, that by far for me is the biggest mistake.

The youth model as well is proving it isn’t going to bear fruit short term (or at all).

Then McPake has had slim pickings of the leftovers who have all been poor and his inability to get a tune out of them.

Catalogue of errors.

I genuinely don`t think folks anger should be directed at McPake, the blokes tried and failed. He should have been relieved of his duties a long time ago. The board though are quite happily watching the club rot.

It`s the age old tale we don`t have a striker. The only half decent one we have doesn`t play more than 2 or 3 games before being posted missing.

Berry is that really true though? He kept on a number of these duds before the season in league 1 was even finished and recruitment had even begun for the championship.

Wotherspoon was chased as a top target for 2 summers, has scored one goal and done nowt else all season. O’hallaron was not a slim pickings either.

Youth model might have worked if more of the experienced pro’s were up to it and we didn’t stick with proven liabilities at this level.

Guessing the prospective buyer will get a wee discount now looking at the table.

As typing we go 2-0 down, defo game over now.

Wotherspoon making sure he gets Christmas at home with the family, absolute fraud. Players aren’t playing for him and haven’t been for a very long time, get McFake out. He signed up to the bring through our own model so not a card for him to play, we were let down in transfer windows not him, it’s what he signed up to.

They own around 30%.

Not all of this can be blamed on them. Some of the board need kicked out too but that`s easier said than done as we need people who will throw money at the club.

Boycott Friday. And the week after until they sack him. That shower don’t deserve 10% of the support they’ve got this season, whole squad looks like it’s just going through the motions and downing tools as soon as we concede.

Folk won’t boycott, especially home to them on the 27th. However I feel we should be more vocal as a group of fans and start letting McPake know exactly what we think. Fair too quiet I bet they were applauded off again today.

Mcpake will have wanted to keep Paul Allen, he loves a league 1 level defensive midfielder.

I’m struggling to think of 1 success in the market in the last 2.5 years? Maybe otoo but he’s hardly having a good season. To a man they have been very poor, some have always been poor but some have downed tools this season.

I’d imagine with dead man walking mcpake still hanging on the training intensity has dropped and now everything else has. We could quite easily now string 5-6 defeats in a row together. Vast majority of these players are away in the summer anyway.

You`d be better boycotting the away games.

I’ll be there and I will be getting my views across. If you’re happy with what’s going on and are happy to stick with McPake then that’s up to you.

They were backed in numbers last week and failed to deliver. What more can the fans do in all honesty?

We’ve been confident and backed him through last seasons injuries and again this season.

The players aren’t playing for the manager and the manager isn’t going to go until he’s paid off but I find it bizarre there isn’t more reaction towards him after games. I remember it’s was toxic when Allan Johnston was losing games all the time and he got pelters after games….why is McPake being given such an easy ride?

Too even suggest the team hasn`t been backed this season is utter nonsense. I think most have been understanding of the situation GMBH have put us in and any anger hasn`t been put towards the players. Just look at raith last week.

If your happy to watch us sleep walk into a third league 1 relegation in the past decade or so by all means sit on your hands but for most I would imagine enough is enough.

I don`t know about anyone else but a full time club of our size, with no interested owners, with "significant overheads" at eep, an expensive academy and training ground having a chance of being in league one AGAIN is pretty f*cking worrying.

It hardly needed Nostradamous to knock out that prediction.

As for people saying `McPake must now be sacked `. STOP IT!!! He`s not going anywhere until the Germans are gone, that`s a 99.6% fact so stop whining and deal with it. He`s here for the duration.

The Germans clearly aren`t smart enough to realise that relegation would rapidly decrease the value of the club. Who`s to say that a new management team would work miracles anyway. The new manager bounce does not always happen.

The best we can hope for is for Airdrie continually being worse than us, and we either narrowly avoid finishing 2nd bottom,or finish 2nd bottom and scrape through the playoff final.

That`s it,that`s what you have to look forward too. I`ll bet those season tickets look like a bargain now eh.

Is we lose the next 3-4 then it would certainly take a gambler to buy us at a championship price.

It’s a league 1 team on the pitch and in the dugout and quite soon you can add the league to that.

Kelty hearts in the playoffs with a team already half out the door? Sounds like us.

McPake can gtf and take that squad of wasters with him. The majority of us work hard each week just to throw away money following a football club that serves up pathetic performances week in week out. This has been going on for a number of years now. Even when we won League 1 the football was dire more often than not.

Good luck to any directors/management if we get pumped by Falkirk next week as they should get what they deserve from the fans that go to watch that drivel every week. Time for someone in the club to stand up and say something….at least David Lamming did!!

Very hard to boycott this Friday , but onwards after that I can see fans turning away and taking a stance.

There will be a good crowd there on Friday, we’ve been averaging between 4-4.5k at home games which is remarkable considering the form we’ve been in. Would think they’ll fill out the away end, then add on the folk home for Christmas that don’t get to games often that go to the Xmas/NY matches, pushing upwards towards 7.5/8k. If we get pumped, EEP will be one hostile environment come FT and I don’t want to hear nobody coming on and complaining about the behaviour or attitude of some supporters because it’s all gonna come to a head soon.

We started OK today and had the better of the early play, though without really being a threat. The first goal felt like the first time they`d been in our box, but we can`t keep giving away goals from set pieces. We`ve lost a stupid number of goals from corners and free kicks around our box, and we even lost one from a horrendously defended shy (via a penalty) against Hamilton. Yes, it`s possible to lose the odd goal from a corner but the number over the season says we`re just not doing the basics.

Second goal looked like a simple goalkeeping error. The wind didn`t really affect the game that much and, although it might have held the ball up a bit, I was thinking it was dropping in or hitting the post from a long way out. Then an absolutley brainless sending off, but on reflection I don`t want to be too harsh on him. I was raging at the time, but both parts of it came from frustration and he looked genuinely devastated when he realised he was going off. It was a rare sign that someone is actually bothered at how dire things are.

It was always going to be a tough shift at 2-0 down and a man short, and the second half played out exactly as most folk would have expected with us never looking like we were getting back into it. However, in a way it`s hard to accept, as we were ultimately beaten quite easily by a team who had looked utterly terrible in the first half.

In half a season that`s a single away point, and not even a single point from the many games when we`ve lost the first goal. That`s really bad stuff and has to change in the second half of the season.

You are correct. Those who turn up should turn their backs. Just when they are about to kick off. Turn their backs toward the pitch. It will send a message to the board and management that everyone`s patience has run out.

At the moment we can remove him from duties and leave him on garden leave.

As it’s Falkirk and the Xmas/new year game let’s get along….but if we get a doing then that’s the time for fans to say enough is enough.. and tell the club/management that’s it and fek off!

Please, let’s do it because once again, as a collective, we were too quiet today. Yes there was the odd random shout but it’s time to send out a strong message.

Nah boycott is not the way….fill East End and if the team/management don’t turn up like usual then let the management/team and directors sitting in their padded seats know…enough is enough!

This…..empty seats don’t have a voice

That`s hardly a glowing endorsement is it? Was the correct decision to let him go, our problem was having to keep the dross that still had time on their contracts!

Allan would still be here if we had the budget, mcpake loves a league 1 midfielder, we have about 5 in the team most weeks.

It’s getting close to a thread about who is definitely under contract for next season. I think it’s only

Mehmet
Otoo
KRH
Kane

Is that right? If the new manager can scrape through the playoffs then he’ll certainly be able to build his own team.

I usually try to be optimistic and look for the positives, but the stats are grim. I remember when McPake arrived, he said the team had become used to losing games, and the first thing he wanted to do was change that habit. He certainly managed that in League 1, but we`ve gone full circle now.

He`s not solely responsible for where we find ourselves now, but something needs to change - and soon - or there`s a real danger that we will be relegated again.

Did Wotherspoon get the initial booking for complaining about not getting a freekick on the far touchline prior to the 2nd goal?

Think he was saying that Morton player handled the ball on the ground.

Think that’s what he was doing. It was hard to tell exactly what the problem was from where I was sitting, but ultimately the Ref booked him for descent because he totally lost it. Then minutes later dived in for a challenge that was also a yellow then started to complain again.

It was just minutes of madness that he could have no complaint over. You expect better from a guy with his experience, let himself and his team mates down, no matter how they try to dress it up.

I think that once we lose tge first goal, there is a sense that the game is over, whether that`s in the first 15 minutes or the last 15 minutes. Statistically, I think you need to be setting up to score 2 goals a game to secure 3 points. We certainly seem to be lacking confidence, and that is probably the biggest factor. It`s a psychological barrier to staying in the game. I haven`t seen anyone throwing in the towel as as full time footballers I wouldn`t expect them to. Tge more chances you create the more likely you are to score. Sometimes you have to just have a go at teams rather than work to tactics that are not always followed or mistakes are made. The best laid plans and all that. Fortune favours the bold.

Yep, 3-3 away game at Ayr was the last time we`ve took anything from a league game after going behind.

Think it was Jeff Stelling who coined the bouncebackability phrase. We have zero.

I remember when John Potter was in charge, week after week there was some debate on here about what changes he should make to the team. There was a counter-argument that he should make no changes, allow his choices to gel and give them a run of games. In reality nothing worked.

We seem to have reached the same stage – no-one is playing well consistently, and nothing seems to make much difference. I don’t think anyone knows remotely what our best starting eleven is. Who should play in central defence? Bene? Fogarty? Young? Hamilton? Otoo? Fisher? Comrie? Breen? Someone else?

We made 3 other changes – Hamilton back from suspension in place of Chalmers. Wotherspoon and Cooper for Todd and Mebude, meaning McCann got shifted again. Would these changes have worked? Hard to say as our plans went out of the window after we conceded another bad goal – Bene mistimed his jump and Ngwenya didn’t track the runner. Perhaps the latter took the blame but he wasn’t totally at fault. I thought the wind played a part – Morton seemingly wanted it with them in the first half.

The second goal was a fluke. Tobi seemed to give up pretty quickly, but I’m not sure he could have done anything anyway. Spoony has got to show more maturity – what did he imagine would be achieved by continuing to argue with the lino? Although I thought the second yellow was a bit harsh. One of those where the ref seemed to be in a rush to get the red card out.

Fogarty was a bit unlucky with both of his chances – if he mishits either he might score, but he should probably still have stuck each of them away.

Confidence seems to be ebbing. Overall, we seem to be unsure whether to play the keep-ball style of retaining possession by passing sideways and backwards, or to get the ball forward quickly, and are doing neither well. We seem half a yard slow in thought and movement – again, probably low confidence is at the heart of that. We did play with a bit more urgency when were down to 10 and chasing the game, but to an extent Morton could afford to allow that. But we create so few chances – McCann’s long throws are not particularly threatening, but that seems to be our main idea. It can’t be much fun for the players at the moment.

As for the fan experience – a cash-only food outlet is a bit last century, and why the need to divert traffic 2.5 miles from the carpark? I don’t remember them ever doing that before.

We seemingly had only 68 fans there on Saturday a sad indictment of where our club is heading

Photo isn`t a fake. It didn`t rain all game yesterday.

What the photo doesn`t show is the fans up the back, giving a false indication of how many there were.
I would`ve said around 150.

The flame still burns
