Dunfermline Athletic welcomes Owen Hampson, a Welsh youth internationalist, on loan from Sheffield United. Owen is a 20 year-old midfielder renowned for his creativity.
At the age of 16, Owen joined Sheffield United in January 2021 from Manchester United bringing an end to his ten-year spell in Manchester. He joined on a two-year scholarship during which he played a vital part in the Blades Under 18s Professional Development League title success. While still completing his scholarship, Owen progressed to become a regular at Under 21 level picking up the Under 21 Professional Development League Northern title. In 2023 he signed his first professional deal at Sheffield United.
Owen Hampson is one of several Sheffield United players in their 20s that Chris Wilder has identified for loans. With having had limited exposure to first-team football, Sheffield United are focusing on securing temporary moves for their young players to help develop them for the future. Wilder has been quoted as saying “Ultimately they need senior football and also there’ll be an opportunity for those boys. They’re highly regarded internally but they need to go and get some football under their belts.”

Exciting attacking midfielder Hampson has shown plenty of talent since arriving from Manchester United in January 2021.
The Wales youth team Internationals silky footwork makes him a tough player to mark,his dribbling ability and eye for goal was evident at under 21s level last season,where he became a key player for the team,scoring in the Professional Development league national final against Birmingham City.

Interesting red star, can’t believe Tidser has identified all these players and owners letting him sign them.
Feels like Tidser is the coach and others are identifying and signing players.

See I was told by a reliable source that Tidser had made it known to the new owners he wanted young and that that was also a name on their shortlist from their algorithm they set up to identify transfer targets.
