Good luck to him, we got rid of him a bit late, but I feel no ill will towards him at all.

I felt last season we had the worse injuries I can remember in football, if it wasn`t for that who knows what would have happened last season, I can`t imagine how stressful that was as a manager.

This season he was thrown under a bus before the season started, one goalie just for starters! And to be honest he and we never recovered, his recruitment was pretty poor as well, but again under different circumstances he would have been fine.

By the time he got sacked he was done, and our squad simply was not at this level, many outside people have commented on this, he can take some blame, but not much in my opinion.

As I say, good luck to him, and yes there were highs too.

McPake wasn’t a bad manager. It’s all about resources. Last night Barry “struggled at Alloa” Ferguson went to Turkey and bossed Jose Mourinho . A GOAT manager.
Jose thought Rangers would set up 4231.
Chucked out a 352 . And could have battered them 5-1 .

Yes, he wasn`t a bad manager, and I hope he gets another full time gig.

He was on course to keep Dundee in the SPL, and it was ridiculous he got sacked there

We were right to sack him, but he absolutely shouldn`t be the one to shoulder all the blame for this-we could only sign what was left, every signing had huge injury risks, no other clubs were in for them, and a goalkeeper that had hardly played a single adult game before coming to us at 30!

So a real gamble for any signings, and yes, he was done for us, but he deserves another decent crack at it.

He did what was asked of him in his first and second seasons. In season 3 the rug was pulled from underneath his feet. He was a pragmatic manager. If we`d played flamboyant football but failed to get out of League 1 or stay in the Championship he would probably have been sacked earlier than he was.

Would be interesting somewhere down the line if McPake ever revealed who he wanted to bring in prior to this season and why it didn`t happen.

Have heard Oakley and Logan Chalmers name mentioned a few times but we couldn`t (or wouldn`t !!) compete wages wise.

I don`t hold any sort of grudge against JM, it just didn`t work out for him. You couldn`t expect the guy to quit when he`s got bills to pay and mouths to feed. It`s solely down to the higher ups for not getting rid of him earlier.

Good luck to him.

He was the best we could have got when we came down and he had a good record at taking relegated teams back up but he was unable to straighten the team in any way.

He’ll have learned a lot from his spell with us though about loyalty to players etc.

Apart from he hasn’t.

Agyeman has 5 goalies in 26 games.

Also Agyeman is a winger.

I think eventually McPake will talk about what players he wanted. I remember him using his appearances on Sportsound and Sportscene to talk about the Dundee situation after he left so imagine he’ll do the same in regards to ourselves.

It was definitely a frustrating summer watching good players for our level signing for other teams in our league.
