Great initiative, support is needed to get us out the relegation spots and they are trying to get numbers through the gate. They`ve even included season ticket holders in the promo by creating a little prize pool for their attendance.
All we need is them to put buses on for the final away game against Morton .-)

Probably a bit harsh given they took over just before the lockdown happened.
Lots of their plans were thrown in the bucket given no fans in stadium, no income stream other than Pars tv and still paying wages.

This is why I’ve always hated the “if they build it, they still won’t come” comments that crop up every now and again, just because that was the case under Masterton & Yorkston. In my opinion, there is big potential at the club, if we can market it right and get the product on the park right.

Remember that at a fiver a ticket they`d need 4x as many people coming. I`d rather it was £5 with 8000 fans than £20+ with 4000 but that halves the match day income. It would be different if things like the pie stands were run by the club but they`re not so things like selling more pies only benefits Stephen`s, which is still a good thing for a local business, but doesn`t cover the the loss. The hope will be that it`ll give people a taste and they`ll come again in future.

These calculations are fine when it`s a 1-off, but remember those season ticket holders have contributed ~£16 for the game. If the lower entry price became a regular thing you would expect a lower season ticket price as a result (or no-one would buy one).

The extra support, the kind of which most players won`t have seen at East End Park is more valuable to the players than anything else. If you can`t raise your performance for 7-8 thousand fans, nothing will (except for extra money). We`ll get nothing for extra grizzle pies sold (I think it all stays with Stephens but might be wrong) but hopefully we can shift some extra shirts n stuff from the club shop (maybe they`ll discount some of the merchandise, especially football strips as its nearly the end of the season).

Remember though that our 3000 season ticket holders have already paid. So you would need 4x the normal walk up tickets to break even, how many would that normally be, 1000-1500 or so? You`d expect having almost double the normal crowd would also significantly increase other match day revenues, so we shouldn`t be losing out too much from tomorrow.

Which will definitely sell out, will we open the North East? Or part the East Stand or the enclosures infront if the Main Stand probably not.... A home stand sell out is a better sell.

Worry would be that where do the staff come from to manage gates in normally quiet areas.
Hopefully there’s not a fiasco caused by the big upsurge.
Happy potential problem in many ways, get along early folks!
Club will have expected this Id imagine and will have upped the levels. Biggest problem is the folk that still cant work self scan turnstiles.
Hamilton is like most towns in Lanarkshire a most folk support one of the OF. It’s why clubs like Motherwell, Airdrie, Albion Rovers, Clyde, Partick don’t have bigger crowds either.

By my calculations that’s 7300 home supporters and still time for more. COYP!
By my calculations, the most we have for sale is 7268 and we still have tickets available.
Which will definitely sell out, will we open the North East? Or part the East Stand or the enclosures infront if the Main Stand probably not.... A home stand sell out is a better sell.
I don`t think the enclosures have a safety certificate anymore, that`s why the official capacity has been reduced

The north east can’t open due to problems that meant it couldn’t open against Falkirk in league one

How do Hamilton have such a poor support. Similar sized town and similar to Fife in that they have other similar sized clubs around them.……………….
I have stayed in HAmilton for 25 years. One of the first questions people ask is what one do you support… meaning the OF…. I still find it funny to this day the look he gave me when I said I support the Pars….. after a few seconds of silence he said “ oh never met one of Thaim afore”. It was priceless, but it’s true through here it’s one or the other all the local teams, like said earlier have a smaller fan base because of this, and staying a stones throw from the home of the accies and the amount of home fans that go to the games is poor never mind away.

I`m surprised that Hamilton fans aren`t making more of an effort to come through and support their team. It`s a huge game and it`s looking like a wall of noise from 3 sides of the ground only.
I`m pretty sure if it was the other way around we`d be taking between 1 - 2 thousand fans.
Apart from having a small fanbase due to the OF as explained above, many Accies fans are completely disillusioned. You can see for yourself with a quick look at their fans forum.

The North East was open for the games at the end of the L1 season following its closure against Falkirk. Surely suggests the problems had been fixed.
It’s not great if there is an issue meaning it can’t be opened today. Imagine we had got a big Cup draw this season and couldn’t open it? Massive loss of revenue..
Hopefully we get it open today.

Just over 60 left now.
I`m sure the 2 sections of the NE closest to the NW were opened before, and the facilities in the NW available for all.

If there is a problem with the toilets in the NE then it`s a rubbish excuse. If they`re not easily fixed then it`s a simple case of hiring some event fencing and portaloos and using a tiny portion of the car park to make the stand usable.
Having that full side of the pitch filled with fans would be phenomenal.

The experience of the last few days makes you wonder what the optimum level would be to pitch ticket prices to maximise revenue. Would the number sold be much different if prices had been £10, say? I would think the acceleration in uptake since Wednesday also had something to do with the result against Livi of course.

That`s an interesting question. Are there ways of giving season ticket holders extra, meaningful benefits that would allow you to have a lower standard walk up price, keep most people happy and maintain or increase overall revenue?

The opening post on this thread details some exclusive benefits for ST holders. A lot of calculations would have to be done to come up with an answer and I suspect there would be a lot of guesswork involved as there are so many variables affecting decisions to go to a match.

Why not just open the gate behind the TV gantry and let fans use toilets in the NW?

I`m sure there will be some kind of regulations that state how many toilets you need per person at public events. May be wrong but the point I was making is there is an easy solution to the problem.

Sounds like it`s going to be a great turnout. Well done to the club for making this offer to fans.
I hope there are plenty of turnstiles open and that Stephens T. Baker has had the Bridie ovens going like the clappers all night.

Its difficult to do anything at the stadium other than discounts on merchandise.
The only way I can see to make season tickets more desireable is to attract significant external discounts that will actually be used by the holders.
I believe we already do that for the folk that pay the £20 a month tthat was started when we nearly folded.

Stephens steak bridies and meat is a fine example of an oxymoron (I think). 🐄 - 🎂 🥮* = veggie bridie.
