Like most posters, I’ve said a lot about Lennon already but I remain delighted at the appointment and excited by it.
Name wise, he’ll attract players and he’ll pull in sponsorship and media interest, which will all help raise the profile, but this is only good if he can do the job on the park.
I know his recent record isn’t great, but he knows Scottish Football and his success in it is well documented. My only concern about the appointment is the lack of games to go. If he can hit the ground running, we have a chance. Let’s hope he does and let’s hope he can start building the club back up. I’m more excited than I was when Tidser was announced, put it that way.

Very positive move, he’ll be looking to relaunch his career and we need to get out of the doldrums.
Excited about the remaining games, the players will be pushed that’s for sure and even more excited about next season, we might see some decent quality players in a relatively attacking formation at east end park next season!

I am absolutely delighted with this appointment. It signifies that the owners are not messing about. The financial backing the club possesses is substantial. When Tidser was appointed, I felt it lacked ambition. This new appointment demonstrates precisely what we stand for; although it may be a short-term solution, there is possible long term plan if we maintain championship status. Lennon is a proven winner, and should he save us from relegation , I can envision us finally achieving success. In my lifetime, this is the best appointment we have ever made, considering his capabilities as a manager and his accomplishments in Scottish football, not just as a player but in his managerial role as well. Welcome to the club, Neil! I am buzzing with about this. An actual leader!

Certainly a box office appointment although i`m already getting `the boke` from how the Sun, Record etc will no doubt be slavering over our game next week against Ayr and it will have almost zero to do with either team playing.
Pretty confident he will do well. Also glad to see he`s bringing in his previous #2 and not Parker and/or Mjallby.

I have long felt like there is a player in McCann with the right mentoring. You’d need someone like Sutton, Harrison or Brewster to come in and teach him how to use his size and be an effective target man type forward. Maybe Lenny could get Sutton/Hartson in a couple of days a week to work with him, he’d come on leaps and bounds.

Da no 1 you just couldn’t resist a dig there…..
There’s a wee NI connection with McCann and Lennon. I still think he’s not good enough in many aspects of his game but surprised anyone is questioning his workrate outside of the last few games.
Its all up for grabs, a few players like McCann might feel they have a future here if they can impress in last few games, as opposed to Tidser who was open they were all going to leave. You don’t say the quiet part out loud until the seasons over.

Look at the Aberdeen 2nd goal and Raith 2nd goal…McCann is in no man’s land and just stood there. I would say he needs coaching on more the defensive side of a game and defending positioning….Hes young but again can do so much more during a game…this could be good for him when Lennon and his coach start training.

McCann is 24 this summer with 150 games under his belt, I don’t think we can call him young. That’s why defending like raiths second last week really grates, he should know what to do in those situations and be better.
Same going forward, he should really know to have a look before crossing the ball and how to time jumps to compete in the air and his decision making should be generally better.
I have faith in Lennon to either get something out of him in the next 7 games or to move him on in the summer.

Neil Lennon from BBC web site
Having watched the match against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup, it`s clear there`s talent in the squad, perhaps just a little low on confidence at the minute.
What we want to do is bring an energy, confidence and an exciting brand of football. It may not happen instantly, but we want to play on the front foot, excite supporters and get the players believing in what we`re doing."

I think he’s bored with the same old same old punditry and wants a change of pace. Football management? - Who knows but taking on a two month 7 game stint is a no risk option.
IMO - He wants a football/career challenge and this fits the bill.
- It’s short term
- It will test his managerial skills
- If it ends in failure - He walks away
- It’s a success - He walks away/he sticks around for more
I’ll always remember him coming over & shaking every Pars players hand after the 07 final.
I hope we are all smiling at the end of the season.

A week is a long time in football, to paraphrase a cliche usually applied to politics. This time last week we were in the depths of despair after a woeful display against our local rivals. Now I think it`s fair to say the consensus is that we are in a much better position and are actually looking forward to the next game and the climax of the season. Fortunately we`re not detached from the rest of the League and if we can achieve some consistent, decent results we have a fair chance of staying in the Championship. Being gamblers by nature it seems our new owners aren`t afraid to change tack if the first course isn`t working out.
It will be interesting to see what Neil Lennon makes of the squad he has inherited. He doesn`t have a lot of time to experiment so will have to hit the ground running from the start. Given his playing and managerial career to date this will probably be the least gifted bunch of players he`s ever played or worked with so I hope that doesn`t frustrate his efforts.

Im pretty invigorated by the appointment of Lennon and hope that it has the same affect on the players.
I won`t blame him if we don`t survive this season, seven games is not a lot of time to get a tune out of players that have not performed all season bar a few exceptions.
Hopefully the support will get behind him.
I am sick of reading about supporters stating they won`t be back till that or this happens.
Not one of us are bigger than the club yet the sense on entitlement from some really beggars belief.
I think the previous owners left us in a debt free situation, they didn`t communicate as well as they could but they had a vision for the club which ultimately failed in the time restrictions demanded by the support.
The sacking of McPake and subsequent appointment of Tidser have both been undermined by the signing of loan players that have come from separate sporting directors and I believe that Lennon will be responsible for all acquisitions be it loan or signed and there will be no pandering to loan players that we have who have clauses about playing in x amount of minutes or fixtures.
No matter the outcome this season I am hopeful that next season brings about a freshness and reassessment of everyone from top to bottom at the club.
That includes board members who`s only input this season seems to be leaking stories and hearsay whether true or not and disrupting the day to day running of the club.
This has a feeling of the signing of Ian Ferguson and the real professional approach that he brought to the club in 2000.

Lennon is a great appointment for us.
As others have said he’s always demanded high standards and has been a proven winner.
Obviously he’s a character but I feel like we need this. These types always seem to be at other clubs but now we get one on our side.
Will be excited for next season if he keeps us up and will be interesting to see how he gets us playing.

More stringent banning wouldn`t go amiss either.
Brian, it shouldn`t be to hard to implement?
Sure it`s not difficult to implement. But I don`t want the grief that goes with it 😁
I`ve put things in place before and got abuse. Though I should be thick skinned after the number of years on here 🤣
I do agree though that action of some form would help.

There are lots of posts on here I don`t agree with and there are plenty who don`t agree with mine but I would never expect anyone to be banned as long as they comply with the Forum rules. Banning seems quite sinister to me, like Trumpism.

Yeah, there`s a lot on here that need to take a day off sometime.
There are many that just need to go away from the forum all together. It isn`t going to happen though. We need an ignore button so we simply push it and no longer see their tedious messages. More stringent banning wouldn`t go amiss either.
Brian, it shouldn`t be to hard to implement?
I’d have no posts to reply to if that was the case as I’d have the lot of you on ignore cause your a shower of barstewards 🤡🤡

I would actually prefer us not to have a full media introduction or any lengthy interviews. Whilst it is exciting news for the club, it might end up being a big distraction from the actual task at hand (staying in the championship).

I’m actually happy about that. Time for talking is on the pitch and no false promises.

A media introduction will get more bums on seats. Create an atmosphere.
