It was the lead story in the Radio Scotland sports news bulletin at 8.45. Brian McLauchlin, who saw Neil Lennon at close quarters when he managed Hibs, was very complimentary about his motivational skills. He said he was one of these people who commanded respect when he walked into a changing-room.

Wee eck, there was a piece involving Van Dijk, Frimpong and John McGinn and all of them stated he was a winner, brilliant man manager and made them feel like the best player on the planet.
He’s exactly what we need, look at Lewis McCann for example, Lennon could turn him into a top player and improve his scoring record with some belief.
Otoo aswell, Mullen the list goes on.
Really good times to be a Pars fan.

I have to give it to the new owners - they really seem to be `all action`. Of course it remains to be seen if the `action` is effective, but at least there`s some excitement around.
Wonder what this news conference is for? Another new marketing deal presumably?

Now if he can turn young Yeboah into a player, that would be something.

Let`s face it, the Scottish media love an OF connection as it attracts punters. Maybe the club are hoping to cash in on that by holding a formal media conference and getting a bit of publicity which will keep sponsors etc happy..

We can’t get it here, so if they want to throw money at us for something we can’t get then that’s fine it’s not gonna hurt anyone, it’s only gonna help our club

Decent conference and he’s realistic and at pains to say he’s not promising anything and rightly so as the players have had this tippy tappy defensive first mindset for nigh on 3 years now.
That can’t be changed overnight so I’m guessing he’ll just try get us over the line and start afresh next season if we stay up.

So refreshing to hear such an interview. Let’s stay up and see what next season brings because he must have bought into the owners plan big time and it’s not going to be cheap to rebuild the squad.
Just listening to him he comes across so calm and that will surely get the players onside and getting some results.
Starting with 3 points at Somerset.

It’s on the byline you’ll see the real Neil Lennon. Hope he sticks a rocket up our players. I think they need that extra oomph from an experienced head.

Neil Lennon, came across very well during
the interview. He seems as though he will
improve our position but he didn`t make any
promises. He is very realistic. He wants us to play
entertaining football and start scoring
more goals. I`ve a good feeling about Neil
Lennon and I think he will fo a good job.

Couple of things stood out. His knowledge of events in the past he was involved in (dates ect) and that he is willing to play the football that will keep us up then worry about his style of play.
If/when we stay up I think he will attract some quality in the summer
There’s no doubt he will give the players the right attitude and confidence to play good football.

Exciting times indeed!
I like Neil Lennon, his knowledge is excellent, an articulate guy too, won`t be boring, and yes, he`s stating the obvious that we need to be on the front foot, but none of our last two seemed to grasp that simple point, which is the only way to get out of relegation -this pointless passing to nowhere nonsense should finally be binned.
Next 2 games are extremely tough, so let`s see, but certainly pushing the boat out.

Really positive interview for a number of reasons.
There’s really positive intent that he will be with us on a multi-year contract, presumably providing we stay up.
Sounds like the above was financially covered by Gamdom so that sponsorship has started off really well who are just as invested in this venture.
The fact that Bord has said to Lennon that the club has gotten under his skin is encouraging.
This compelling argument Lennon referenced I don’t think is all about the money, he’ll be getting a fair bit but I get the impression Bord has really high ambitions for us which is exciting.
Think our role as fans is just to back them throughout. It’s going to be tough and whilst we’ll hopefully see more positive play, it’s not going to be pretty and we’ll still lose at times.
We’re quick to judge, sometimes rightly but on this occasion we seem to have a really ambitious board and arguably the best manager we could really have hoped for at our level. So let’s not mess this up and let them work this out.

I think everyone needs to dial it down a wee bit . We haven`t kicked a ball in anger since NL`s arrival .
I like most others feel more optimistic now , but we still have a battle on our hands for 8th. Think it might be a tad early to be talking about winning the championship next season when we`re not even sure to be in it 🤔

None of my Pars supporting family members or pals would have picked Neil as manager, but it is quite notable they now wouldn`t swap him for anyone.
The Pars have been a bleedin misery for years now, time to turn the corner, if our manager can keep us in the Championship after the next 7 games I have faith that better things will follow.

Here`s Brian McLauchlin`s analysis on the BBC Sport website following the media conference -
Neil Lennon is box-office material. All the way through his playing and managerial career he has made an impact. It was standing room only at the media conference, an indication of how big a draw he is. Even in his short time at Bolton, where he saved the club from relegation before they encountered administration, he remains highly thought of by fans. He lifted Hibs out of the Championship at the first time of asking and took them into Europe.
Just walking through the front doors at East End Park you can sense an optimism that has been lacking recently. This may be the wake up call this club needs and one thing for sure is Lennon will give his all to get them on a solid footing once again and have the fans rolling back in their droves.

An easy conference for Lenny with the friendly nature of the questions, might be a bit different after a poor performance. Although it was all nice and cosy you can tell he has a hard edge to him which might be what we need. I remember Jock Stein could be a charming man but all players and newspaper reporters knew not to cross him. Liked when Lenny picked up on a report that he was promising attacking football when what he had said was that he would like to get the team playing attacking football. There`s a difference and he wasn`t going to be misrepresented.
I`ve no idea if he will get us clear but feel we have a better chance with him there than with anyone else we could have got.
