 Dunfermline v Hamilton
Topic Originator: cammypar 1995
Date:   Fri 4 Apr 07:31

The head record shows that in the previous 11 meetings, Dunfermline Athletic has won 4 times, Hamilton Academical has won 4 times, and 3 ended in a draw. Dunfermline Athletic scored 14 goals and Hamilton Academical scored 12 goals in these matches.

Hamilton has not won in the last 5 games coming into this Hamilton conceding an average of 2 goals per game on their travels.only winning 2 matches out of 15 on the road they are one of the poorest 3, with an away match win of 13%.

Stats make good reading for us but we need to take the positives from Wednesday and with a bumper crowd expected that might tip it in our favour you`d think.

c'mon the pars

"with our home record the best in the league"

Where did you get that idea from?

After Wednesday night, I’m going into this game very confident of getting a win. If we can hit those levels again, then Hamilton won’t be able to match us.

I’ve said all season that their squad isn’t as good as ours, and I stand by that, I think previously we had McPake and then Tidser, that had players playing in a way that they weren’t comfortable with, Lennon showed on Wednesday that wasn’t going to be the case under him.

2-0 victory and a step closer to survival!!

One wee concern I have about this game is that we`ll only have had two full days` recovery since our last game whilst Hamilton will have had a full week. Our players must have used up a lot of physical and emotional energy on Wednesday night and suffered a few bumps and bruises. On the other hand the presence of a bumper crowd may help get the adrenaline pumping!

Totally justifiable concerns there Wee Eck and I’m sure Wednesday would have taken a lot out of the legs, and with it being quite physical as well, I’m sure there will be knocks and bruises to contend with too.

On this, I see that the club have opened up the east section of the Main Stand, due to the North West Stand being sold out and other areas limited. Great to see Pars fans and locals getting behind Lennon and the lads, and taking advantage of the £5 tickets.

They know it’s gonna be busy, so hopefully they open up enough to get everyone in before kick off.

What’s the lower end of the main stand? Is that what was known as the enclosure?

it`s also helpful if folk try to get in as soon as possible too. Everyone knows its going to be busy. Will be great to see the place packed for a change. could be pushing 7k at this rate. there was 5.5k sold before before the win on Wednesday so id suspect a big push since then,

Could well be a sell out tomorrow - guessing Hamilton fans are going in the East?

Security were smart enough to have all turnstilrs in Norrie open on Weds with people with handheld scanners letting folk through the ones missing the ones in place!

Nah it`s the far end that`s sometimes used for away support. The SouthEast end of the main stand. 900 seats or so.

My mistake, it’s the area to the right of the main stand, where small away supports (like Livi the other night) usually go.

Approx. 400 left on the site, would expect the NE to be opened tomorrow for walk ups.

There`s still a block of the main stand to go on sale so 600+ but yeah, I agree with you. Every chance the NE will be open at this rate.

Good points. Another slight concern of mine is the state of the pitch and the lack of time for it to `recover`. That said, we are playing a more direct style of football under Lennon, so hopefully it won`t have too much of an impact.

The last time we had a £5 across the board entry fee, was for a Sunday evening game, live on SKY, v Dundee United. Not only was it a sellout, but around 3,000 fans, including ST holders were locked out. 😱

Just saying....

Was Morton in March 2022 on the Friday night not £5 as well? Not 100% sure but I vaguely remember it

Forget that, out for the rest of the season by all accounts. Shame. Hopefully he`s back for a full preseason.

I am expecting a difficult match today. We will need to be at the same levels as Wednesday night to get the win. Hamilton have done well recently v Falkirk and Ayr.

Seem to remember it was the going rate at the time for a young old firm player with first team experience. Unfortunately he turned out to be a dud.

I think you`re bang on. It`s a six pointer and both teams know how big a game it is. It could end up 0-0 or 5-5.

I don`t think we`ll win as we always do things the hard way plus we put in a shift and a half against Livi. I`m going for 2-2 and Airdrie to lose.

Once again though, I`m very rarely correct with predictions as my place on the predictions league proves.

Queens will lose also.

3 points and a big win today.

Early goal, crowd get onside, Hamilton crumble and we win 3/4 nil.
