I think he got a bit missed by previous managers or stepped up for Lenny.
Earlier in the season I thought he put in a good shift … then wasn’t played. Last couple of outings … I think ( if he wants it) we should give him another season offer of a contract if he sees it through to season end as he has been playing

I still think we will stay up … especially if it is via the play offs. I suspect it will be that way as we do nothing normal. We are The Pars.

I said yesterday at the game that Clay could be an important player for us, and I stand by that now. Doesn’t do anything too fancy, but is a composed, solid, intelligent player IMHO.

Who do you think will be automatically relegated?

Reflecting on Craig Clay, I believe he embodies resilience. During his absence from the team, he was seen on the pitch prior to matches, assisting with the warm-up and playing with the reserve team, all while maintaining a commendable attitude despite not being included in the matchday squad. In the games in which he has played, I think he has performed well. His play may not be extravagant, yet he diligently seeks to control the ball and showcases the gritty aspects of the game. For me, I really hope he plays a significant role in our efforts to secure our safety in the league.

I think he has been the captain in the reserve games recently too so must be showing a good attitude.

He has played well in the last couple of games. Can see him communicating with the manager and players on the pitch as well.

Think he’ll start all the remaining games if he is fit.

Was breaking up play well yesterday.

Mentioned it in my after match post, but he is a player that is slowly winning me over, in his last 2 games. If he can keep those levels up then I wouldn’t be against him staying.

Clay`s rehabilitation is what worries me about writing off the whole squad as `not good enough for the Championship`. Players have different strengths and weaknesses and different managers will see ways of integrating them into a functioning team.

Said that on another thread, wee eck. Some players haven`t been good enough over the whole season. Others have but haven`t been able to carry the whole team.

He offers far more than Oakley-boothe for me, the effort levels alone are night and day. He gets stuck in and he actually looks like he cares. That’s the kind of player who should be starting in a relegation battle. Not young boys on loan from English academies who couldn’t give two tosses what happens to Dunfermline because chances are they’ll never set foot in the town again after this season.

Clay has reacted well considering wanyama got on ahead of him at Ayr!

Doubt we’ll see Oakley boothe again, he played like he was in witness protection.

Oh here’s the gruesome twosome! Those on the park had downed tools to get rid of tidser, clay wasn’t on the park at any point in that time.

It’s too clays credit that he’s come in and done okay in 2 games, espechailly as he knows he’ll be away soon.

He puts paid to your theory that loanees and players whose contracts expire at the end of the season have no reason to try and keep us in the Championship. You just make it up as you go along

Don’t worry dandy, da thinks he’s on a roll as he’s only just realised the players are dross and he’s fresh out of excuses.

They like to take something you say and pretend it was a sweeping generalisation so like in this instance they can pretend you were wrong when someone has a decent game.

On another thread he’s claiming Todd has been poor this season as he’s only just back from injury……what about the 18 other games he’s disappeared in? Errr no comment!

Some people sure suck the hell out of a topic.

I’m sure Lenny knows what’s needed right now - and it’s experience with good ethics. If he stays fit Clay will be in till the end of the season. If Wotherspoon gets fit I’m sure he will be involved too. I would be interested to see the average age of our team in the last 2-3 games versus other parts of the season. I’m betting it’s nearer 30 than 20. Especially when big Victor gets the last 2 games.

Apologies, I didn`t see said e mail, due to the wild accusation I was getting e mails from a couple of now banned idiots on here asking for fights/telling me I was getting jumped at EEP, so I stopped checking when I got notifications.

I appreciate the apology, thank you.

I've seen it now, appreciated, it was lost amongst threats and spamming from I assume the sand dancing ultra types.

Surely anyone who’s watched our last two games would say Clay has improved our midfield? Gives us a bit of dig and does the basics pretty well. If fit then he should be absolutely nailed on to start.

He`s a ball-winner like Hammy but, having won it, he doesn`t give it away as much with a slack pass. NL seems to rate him, possibly because that`s the way he played the game.

Played really well again yesterday. Won the ball 3 times in the build up to the goal. Lennon getting the best out of him.

Was wondering after the game if he’ll have done enough to get another year even if we stay up.

Yip. He adds steel to the midfield and is streetwise. Just what we have been missing…

Makes me wonder why Tidser never played him..

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.
