Inexperience is the overriding issue for me.

We are much better than last year, but wet behind the ears.

Some really good players have been brought in. Gilmour & Amade are superb together, but still feel we give strikers too much time. Vaughan an Hale have scored 3 goals in two games due to not closing down.

We need to wise up. JCM the biggest culprit. Heard somebody say that he might be a bit like Sol Bamba when he first arrived. Very true. Hopefully turns out as good as Sol did.

JCM has had his ups and downs for me but was great yesterday, won a lot of his individual battles including in the air and distribution was pretty good too, not afraid to take his time and pick a pass.

I thought Tod was poor yesterday, lots of hurried clearances where the ball didn’t leave the danger area and caught out a good few times both in the air and on the deck.

I know he’s local boy done good so everyone is reluctant criticise and they were also a handful up top but with his very limited experience we need another experienced CB to come in so we can manage his game time and development.

So happy we finally have a quality midfield in the centre of the park, what a difference it makes. Amade and gilmour strolled it in there and won everything and Jefferson’s intelligent movement always gave them an out ball.

We could just show some patience and give him time to develop, instead of looking for an instant fix.

It wasn’t inexperience that cost us two points yesterday it was terrible substitute decisions and Bene being completely finished at this level. Was getting killed with balls over the top last week by McMullan running off his shoulder and this week I can’t think of a single header he won when White came on early doors.

Tod had a much better second half and made a goal saving challenge in the box.

What goals yesterday was Bene responsible for?

1st goal, Hale ran off JCM and got behind him. A fortunate control meant the 3 defenders and other rc forward continued into the box, the ball sat up nicely and he hit it.

2nd Kearney needs to be stronger with the challenge on mackay Stevens, hale then sat JCM down. If he stands him rather than slides in, it doesn`t open up the angle to bend it around bene into the corner.

So again, what part was he actually responsible for? 2 mistakes from JCM and 1 from Kearney. Or is he this season scapegoat. Irrespective of what actually happens its his fault.

Subs have nothing to do with it ,defensive errors from players on the park from start. RC were getting into the game ,couple of our players were tiring and took knocks

The ball floats straight over Benes head and he’s got no idea where either County player is. Was right in front of me and easily seen on the highlights. Just win that header which should have been bread and butter playing in the middle of a back three.

Subs were terrible. Completely killed any chance of us getting a third goal. Lennon coming out after the game saying we need a two goal buffer after sending on Hamilton and Tash is comical.

Agree with the Bene scapegoat thing. He had a few last ditch blocks yesterday that nobody else would do.

Noticed this picking him out with no reason for a while now. Best of the back three for me.

IMHO Bene had his poorest game for a long while and Tod was not as steady as he has been. In the first half I was struggling to see what Caceres does to merit his 7 figure price tag but it started to become clear in the spell where we were playing some lovely football.
I turned to my daughter when Rudden scored and said it would be interesting to see if we would keep going forward and try to finish the game off or get deep and defend the lead. Unfortunately it was the latter and it didn`t work.

Not sure who it was but whoever got the boot in the face prior to their goal should have gone down with a `head injury` and forced a stoppage..it`s not sportsman like, but everyone else does it.

We scored after 58 minutes. I don`t think anyone could have watched that game and conclude that we were trying to defend the lead for the last 32 minutes.

The game I watched (on ParsTV) had us well on top looking to kill the game. We looked great for pretty big spells.

In hindsight the subs killed it for us a bit, but certainly I could see the logic bringing Hammy on, that for me is his strong point , unfortunately we went too deep etc. and yes, he got booked....

Feels like a defeat, but my thoughts are still the same, we should b not far off the play offs this season, that would be real progress.

I didn`t say it happened immediately but it definitely happened. Or did I imagine it?

You literally posted that we defended deep trying to defend the lead rather than going forward and trying to finish it off.

I think most would have said that we looked the more likely side to score until around the 80 minute mark and then County began to push us back in the last 10.

Not sure why you`re jumping on JCM today, Bertie. He had a very good game yesterday. He wasn`t at his best v Raith but who was? Sure he was partly at fault for the first goal, as he should have stayed on his feet instead of diving in, but if KRH had passed the ball forward or infield, instead of opting for the easy pass, Raith wouldn`t have scored.

Not your average Sunday League player.

Are you Kyle Benedictus?

Obviously it’s not like everyone else was 100% perfect and it was only Bene that was wrong but he was at fault for the first. He was the only one who had an opportunity to deal with either the ball or the “fortunate control”’ He was miles too slow for the second where funnily enough he was caught in no mans land - pretty much where he spent the entire game.

Bene is usually a good consistent defender but he had a stinker yesterday.

OK, maybe what I should have said was that the longer the game went went on the deeper we got. If we`d continued to apply pressure would they have been as able to push us back later in the game?

Jeez, i dont want to be controversial but...

Theres some raspers on here like.

My personal opinion the Ross County game was probably one of the best team performances since the Jimmy Calderwood era.

This is a young team, and thats great.

It shows me planning, future focused investments are being made, aye ok we got bullied by Rank Rovers and to some extent physically again by Rank County.

This year i expect us to win more than lose, score more than concede and generally be competitive.

Next year i expect us to p*** the league.

Well said daft bugger.

The game I watched we were really good, I`ve said repeatedly I will be happy this season to be pushing the play off spots, even the Rovers game, we were really good 2nd half, the Hearts game we were on top for quite some time.

We will play like donkeys in a few games this season, there will be individual errors in a few too, but we will win more,we will play great in some, and we have a squad full of motivated good young players who will improve month by month.

Said the same to my son. We are too nice at times not going down for the foul

A lot of supporters equate new investment with instant big money signings, but that’s not sustainable and we’ve been burnt by it before. The progress since the new owners came in feels much more sensible. We are strengthening the spine of the team, adding quality where it was absent before and creating a solid foundation for long term success. Getting lennon tied down was a big part in our transition from lifeless sleeping giant to a club improving brick by brick.

The fact we now have multiple players away on international duty speaks volumes about the difference in standards that didn`t happen in recent years. Lennon seems to have instilled belief and structure, and the board are backing him with the right type of signings rather than flashy names on big time wages. Gilmour on a 3 year deal and Amade seems to be really useful signings and significant upgrades on the midfield last season.

It’s a proper rebuild. Maybe we won’t see the full payoff this season, but if the improvement continues, we’ll be in a far stronger position than the years of tikka takka crap and poor recruitment. Exciting times ahead for those who are patient.

It’s been a good window but I think we still need another striker and a centre back?
Not that insightful. It’s pretty clear to anyone who follows the Pars.
