Dunfermline Athletic is delighted to announce the signing of central defender Nurudeen Abdulai from Ghanaian Premier League side Medeama SC, on a 3 year deal for an undisclosed fee, Subject to visa approval and international clearance.
The 21-year-old centre-back arrives at KDM Group East End Park with impressive credentials, having made 75 appearances in the Ghanaian Premier League and seven in the prestigious CAF Champions League during his time with Medeama SC.
Born in Takoradi, Ghana, Nurudeen has spent his entire professional career to date with Medeama SC, establishing himself as a key figure in their defensive line. His performances have not gone unnoticed at international level, with the towering defender earning call-ups to several Ghana national squad selections and making the bench on three occasions.
Standing at 6ft 2in, Abdulai brings an imposing physical presence to the Pars’ backline. Despite his primary role as a defender, he possesses a keen eye for goal and has developed a reputation for contributing crucial strikes at important moments. His attacking threat from set-pieces was instrumental in helping Medeama SC achieve a historic milestone last season, as they secured qualification for the CAF Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.
The defender will link up with his new teammates immediately and will be available for selection pending the completion of all necessary registration procedures.
Welcome to Dunfermline Athletic, Nurudeen!

Should get on well with Ewan Otoo, since (I think I`m correct in saying Ewan`s parents are from Ghana) but if Ewan can speak any of the lingo, maybe it`s with a Glasgow accent. Anyway Nurudeen, welcome aboard.

Sounds promising.
I wonder how much data analysis played a part in identification or if it was just down to good old fashioned scouting.

Pretty sure this will be a `data` signing....very unlikely that the pars have a scouting presence in West Africa.

Like most Ghanaians, he will be multilingual and with Ewan, could converse together in Akan, Ewe, Ga or Dagbani. In fact that might be better since Ewan`s Glaswegian English might be slightly foreign to Nurudeen.

Like it, 3 year deal too!
Would imagine he might take time to settle in football wise, but hough who knows, might hit the ground running-looks a unit.
Certainly well geared up for the future with longer deals.

There is some confusion over this signing. Above, it says he’s 21 and 6ft 2in. Yet Wikipedia has him as 28 and 6ft 4in. The height doesn’t worry me, but the ag3 difference is a bi concerning, no?

Ghana, Mozambique, Peru ... I wouldn`t have believed a few months ago that we would have been in the market for players from these countries.
Can they do it on a cold wet Tuesday night in Dingwall? 😀
