Nice to see that the club is allowing injured players to join the Pars TV commentary team. Tonight we have Zac Rudden. I would rather have him in our forward line, but this is a nice progressive move by the club on the communications side.

Solid from Abdulai. Gilmour and the midfield on top so far, and plenty pressure up front, cracking goal!

After a shaky start, Hamilton has proved effective in midfield as well, been a good mix. Rovers are a shadow of the team we played at Starks

Robson on a shoogly peg now, raith look like a team who dont want to play the way he wants them to.

Normally that would be the case, but as captain watching his keeper get manhandled then a younger player getting barged by the same player, he had every right to step in...

Andrew Tod given MOTM by Michael Stewart and rave reviews from McFadden at HT - might make some posters on here who bash him weekly rethink their beliefs on him.

Again the age of the team to look so assured tonight was great to see - now we need that on a consistent basis as we know they can do it!

Good to see Barney get his first goal as well

Goes to show what an atmosphere can do to players. If we can find a way to keep that going every EEP game we’d do really well.

The game itself was the most comfortable I’ve seen us at home to date. Hard to pick out any players they all did fantastic but I’m going to throw in Bray who did really well first half and Kearney.

We’ve got a group of really talented young lads and when they gel it looks so good, long may it continue.

A very important win for a number of reasons. Great to see us stand up to them, even although they were generally more physical than us.
The second half subs were important as it gave the team some fresh energy as it looked like Raith could have grabbed an equaliser
Plenty of good performances, but I thought Gilmour was absolutely outstanding.

2 good goals & Grandson of God very unlucky at the end - that was a tidy finish.

Said in the last game they bullied us. Well tonight they couldn`t. Tried their usual dark arts but it didnt work tonight. Never gave them a inch. Abdulai looks a great addition. JCM was back to his usual standard and absolutely solid with some insane trickery at the touchline. Andy Tod was a constant menace. Barney looked useful brilliant goal. Hammy was the backbone. Whole team did their bit. It absolutely worked tonight. Long may it continue.

On a side note - how on earth did O’Connor win a foul for going through Andy Tods skull with his elbow?

Thats another one to add to shocking decisions this season.

And Matthews foul on Hamilton, where he feigned injury himself to avoid a booking…….

Really really enjoyed that tonight.
Players were clearly up for it right from kick off never allowing Raith to settle and we looked very promising in the first 25 minutes going forward.
Game got scrappy after that but bringing Kane on made the difference.
He kept their defence really busy and got a typical goal for his standards lol
Lots of pass marks.
Hamilton deserves immense credit tonight for his performance after being out so long but Gilmour absolutely bossed that game and was my MOM by a margin,
Very pleased to see Matty Todd getting back on form as well when he came on.
I’m a very happy chappy tonight for sure.
Well done Pars!

Great performance, especially when you consider we are missing Caceres, Rudden and Cooper. Lots of good perfomances througout the pitch tonight. We dominated them with our young team.

Our points tally hasn`t matched our performances, so it is nice to get a great derby win. Hopefully this result is the turning point for our season. Was such an important game for us tonight with a tough few games ahead.

Too much wine drunk this end ! Well done players, management team and owners.

Superb performance - solid defence inc some good saves from Billy & Jeremiah looked more like his old self.

2 good goals & Grandson of God very unlucky at the end - that was a tidy finish.

Great 3 points - wee team were never in it! COYP 👏🏼🏁

Really good game, obviously sweeter with the win, Lennon got it right, players got it right, more agression and a bit of quality.

Agreed. I described it as Lennon-like. Sometimes you get a result, sometimes you get a performance. Tonight we got both. I love to see a team play aggressively and with pace.

Yeah I’d say what I saw tonight should be the defence going forward.
I get Bene is the club captain and puts in a shift but these guys look like a fixture for me.
Abdulai is very good and nothing much is getting past him AND he likes to push forward not sit back and the same goes for Mullen.
These guys are our future and we have a very capable goalie as well.

Last time at Stark`s I was disappointed that Hamilton wasn`t in the team as it seemed well set up for him. I was glad to see him start tonight and even happier to see him have an outstanding game. When you play 4-4-2, the two in midfield both need to play well, especially defensively, for the team to be coherent. We got that tonight.

It`s infuriated me that so often we seem so utterly soft and submissive so it`s a big plus to see a Pars team stand up for itself. Chris Hamilton was crucial in that, but it seemed to run through the team. We aren`t as good at it as teams like the Rovers as we`re just not well practiced at it, but great to see us finally make a start. You have to be competitive in there to allow the rest of the team to play and it`s the first time in a while I`ve thought that the midfield worked well.

Pretty comfortable win in the end. We weren`t brilliant but we didn`t need to be and certainly deserved to win. The Rovers were utterly dire in the first half, had a wee spell early in the second half when they were on top, but that was it. The closest they came to scoring was with a cross that hit the post. None of our players had a bad game and it was just one where we did the basics well and didn`t allow ourselves to be bullied. More of that would be braw.

Well done to the manager for his changes. He’s f*cked it a couple times this season but not tonight. We started very deep at the start of the second half and in years gone by we’ve seen it enough times to lose our lead to that.

The switch to the back three was seamless and got our foothold back in the game. Well done to all involved happy as Larry.

Also I’m liking the eastenders song on at full time.

I think Neil Lennon deserves huge credit. All the posts during the week about not looking forward to it (understandable given previous results) and then after the team was announced. Fair to say Neil Lennon was spot on with his decisions tonight. Subs during the game as well, made the right call at the right time.

Fair play to Barney Stewart as well. Great finish. He’s not exactly a good looking type of player but he gives 100%. He occupies the defence enough it makes space for others and he won his fair share of headers. He could be really useful for us going forward

I don’t think we should be dismissing Bene. It worked well tonight because the back line was defending higher up the pitch rather than on the 18yard box. It squashed the midfield and made it difficult for the wee team to create much. However we will need Bene this season. Horses for courses.

Most I`ve enjoyed watching the Pars in a long time. Looked fit, fast and aggressive. Brilliant football at times and you could tell from the goal celebrations the group love playing together.

I also liked the way Lennon was in the ear of every substitute or player near the touchline. Reminded me of the way Calderwood used to go around speaking to every player during the warm-up back in the day.

A lot to love about this Pars team and manager. COYP!

I think every player we have brought in has improved under NL and the management team. Collectively we are a much better team. Credit to them for getting us to where we currently are. Barney has come on, he is still raw but with the right development he will score goals. I also see an improvement in Bray, much more purposeful on the ball. A master stroke by NL to bring in Hammy and make him captain. What NL has been very good at in my view is rotating the squad to keep everyone involved, give them game time and first team experience. That may mean results are a little up and down, but it brings on a group of players and moves them one rung further up the ladder in terms of experience and performance improvement. Some have said RR didn`t play well but I would argue that we didn`t allow them to. A couple of times they had a bit more space than you would want but overall we limited them to very little. Terrel as the last man is also looking good. More assured, his kicking has improved and his positioning to make the save from the cross was spot on. I thought we always tried to move the ball forward, even if that meant we kicked longer. It kept the pressure on the defence and I thought Easton had to resort to dropping deeper where he was less effective. Frazer and Kearney are really coming on and JCM and Nuru look like they will be a solid partnership. Hats off to JCM for that run forward that created the opportunity for the second goal, and the cross was perfect from Frazer (I think). Kane still has it in his locker to put the ball in the net, and we will need that from him this season. Good to see him congratulating Barney at half time for the goal. It looks like the experienced players like Chris Kane and Bene are contributing more to the team than just on the park. That`s important

Really solid performance from us and hard to see where rovers go from here. They look an aging team with zero pace and very 1 dimensional.

It’s the fine margins again, that cross come shot goes in and it could have been a different result.

Good to see the players stand up for themselves a bit more and we competed so much better in the air, I like the lad from Falkirk, it allows us to go long knowing we have someone up there who has a good chance to win it and we managed to pick up a lot of the second balls.

Good to see Kearney have a good game and finally some quality deliveries into the box which were not overhit or hit the first man.

The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity!

I just watched the whole match on iPlayer. It`s a very different experience when you know from the start that you`ve won 2-0. Much less stressful.

I thought that Stewart and Andy Tod looked like they were really forming an understanding up front. Stewart looked lost when he came on as a sub for his debut, but I don`t think he was match fit. He seemed much sharper tonight and had a better idea of what the manager wanted to do. Obviously, he took his goal really well on top of that.

I thought Bray was really good as well. That`s the first time he`s really stood out for me. There`s so much young talent in the team though. You`ve got to give NL credit for bringing through younger players, but also transforming the squad. On top of that it he`s now got players like Hamilton, Todd, Otoo, Bene and Chris Kane playing with commitment and energy.

I`m also getting a real buzz from having to pay attention to a bunch of different international fixtures, because there`s so many Pars players playing for their countries. Hopefully its just a matter of time until we have a couple of Tods in the full international squad!

Indeed, Terrell had a busy night - denied Rovers more than once, the one from Brown which he touched on to the bar was a great save.

I think NL is one of those rare breed of individuals who is both a leader and a manager. Passion for anything can be both an advantage and disadvantage. Ying and yang when managed in the right way can lead to great things. I was interested to hear Rudden say NL is a perfectionist and that an attraction to coming to the club for him was to work under NL. That is the type of player we want and who NL will attract.

Good performance, great result. How much did we need that? Training will be buzzing this week and confidence will be high. Hopefully, we`ll carry that into our next game and capitalise by taking another 3 pts.

What I like about this team is that we keep on playing football in the final third - trying to find space and make passes in and around the opposition penalty box rather than hitting speculative crosses or shots with no real threat. That`s what impressed me about Falkirk last season and now we`re doing the same. Having intelligent, skilful players like Tod and MacLeod up top helps and we`ve got Caceres to come back too.

It will be interesting to see if NL puts Caceres straight back in the starting 11, or does he go with the same team again.

VEE I agree about the keeper. It bothers me slightly that he is having to make so many good saves in pretty much every game though. But I am being picky after a solid performance last night.

Terrell had a solid game but the stats say he had only 2 saves to make from 2 shots on target. The Raith keeper had 5 saves from 7 shots on target.

Leishman`s Pars side was transformed when Westwater signed. I think Terrell has the potential to be the same solid keeper that the defence can rely on. I hope Lennon gets his contract extended asap.

He`s decisive and brave to clear his lines, let`s try give him a break when the inevitable mistake does come, i think he deserves massive praise right now.

Terrell looks good & he`s still young but has a few rough edges to sort for me, was lucky to get away with dropping a cross before half time, a couple punches that almost didn`t come off & one that he wanted to drop into his chest when he should`ve reached up and claimed
Good saves & distribution though
Hopefully can kick on like Tobi with a good run of games, definitely our #1

A great team effort where everyone managed to hit pass marks and several well beyond. Missing players too the hope now is for greater consistency. The future is bright.
