First time posting here. I really felt on Saturday that the team were transformed by the introduction of Hammy. I get he was riled up by not getting on promptly but his passion was key to us getting back in to the game. Unsung hero.

I thought it was a mistake leaving him out, his dig was needed against a tough Saints midfield.

Got to agree. I think he has been quite a bit better than Amade recently.

I see a big difference in the “local lads” under NL. I think Hammy and co thought they were safe but NL has them realising they need to perform. Matty Todd seems to be stepping up. Hammy has definitely improved - I always thought Hammy had it in him though. He was central to Arbroath’s near promotion and at least in the first season back up (the injury season) he was always dependable. Player of the season, that season.

Not really fair, they`re two entirely different types of midfielder, with different roles.

He might have some limitations, but he`s certainly dug us out of a hole plenty times, certainly the last 2 seasons when everyone was injured, he`s covered all over the place.
There`s clearly still a big part for him to play, I wouldn`t think he will play all the time, but he can certainly give us the option when we need some dig.
It`s the same for Amade, he`s a different player, but he will also be crucial in plenty games.
I was glad Hammy was signed again, and I`m glad Matty Todd has stepped up, this is a big year for him.

Hamilton is a prime example of NL`s man management style working perfectly. When he was out of the team he was like a bear with a sore head (according to close sources 😏) So when he was given his chance again he was utterly raring to go. It`s like having a new player again. Matty is another example.
No-one is immune in this squad and for that reason I am loving the passion that has been reignited.

I think playing more of guys like Todd and Hamilton has helped our form. Age wise neither are `old pros` but their experience of Scottish football and game/ref management has really helped during games.

Hammy has been doing the dirty work in midfield very effectively since he came back in the team and I don’t think it’s a coincidence our form has improved since he has come back in.
Both him and Todd deserve their place right now.
Successful teams always need to have balance and I think Hammy is giving us that with a bit of bite in the middle.

I seem to recall a number of posters who were not too happy that we’d given him another year?

Fraser was good but Hammy was right on the money today. Didn’t lose a ball all day & stuck to the task. MotM by a country mile.

I was one of them, because his overall play at the time didn’t deserve one. What is good to see is his turn around in form and working himself back into the team, and winning games. Maybe the new contract was what was needed to give him a kick up the @rse. Also could be playing next to a better player in Gilmour thats improved his form.

An absolute collosus today. Worth the entrance fee alone. It`s the kind of game that will slip from the memory fairly quickly but that performance was outstanding. Worth a mention the way Lennon has managed him this season. He knows what he has in Hamilton.

Few question marks raised when Lennon offered a new deal to Hammy in the summer but christ he`s shown why.
He`s en-route to a fresh two year deal the way he`s playing.

Great to see a player dig in,and show so much enthusiasm. He shows he cares about the club, and never gives in.I think mr Lennon, has given him some sage advice.😂

Been MOTM a few times this season. Really suited to playing in there beside Gilmour. As a few have mentioned above, playing the “Lennon role” and playing it very well.
Long may it continue!
Thought John Tod played well too.

Hammy was my MOTM, too. Robbie Fraser played very well and put in a great ball for the goal, but Hammy was more deserving of it, imo.
Is the award still decided by the match sponsors? There have been occasions when many of us have been left scratching our heads when the announcement has been made... 🙄🤔
