I don’t actually know tbh Leslie. I was just guessing that it would be on Sportsound but there doesn’t appear to be any schedule on the bbc sport website unless I’m just not seeing it.

They did it last season and through the Covid pandemic when fans couldn’t attend.

However I think it’s been the semi finals and finals not the interim rounds.

Gilmour, Hamilton and Bray keep their starting places. No sign of Fisher (or Kane).

Strong team, but as you say, it`s a strong squad.

Basically were playing as many fringe players as we can, which I`m pleased about, I want to see how Ngwenya plays, this could be his last full time gig if he doesn`t kick on. His career is passing him by

Want to see as much of Otoo, a player I think we all have a lot of time for, previously was our top player, but hes been pretty poor this season, with a couple of stinkers, he can go either way, trundle along or improve and play at a higher level. KRH still has to prove at this level, and needs to play with both feet- hope he shines.

That was pretty poor. all round. Far too easy.

Bene not able to get close enough to close down the cross and the scorer in miles of space dead centre on 6 yard line. Otto & Ngwenya not covering for Bene and goalie stuck to line.

And another goes in as I type.

Can’t believe people commented that we had a strong squad. This just shows that we still have a number of players in the squad that are not good enough.

We had a strong starting 11, and then not much else after that.

It’s getting laughable now.

We clearly have no strength in depth at all, we might have the players numerically but quality wise it’s a massive drop.

7 of that starting line up will hopefully be gone in January/end of season.

Apart from Barney on the bench who else if gonna come on and change anything.

We’re in a rut and got 3 massive games coming up, I don’t see it going well.

Bene never had the legs before his injury.

I know it’s a diddy cup, but with a game lined up against the Rovers in the next round. Should’ve seen it as an incentive.

However we’ve left, Mullen, Abdulai, Fisher, A.Tod, J.Tod, Caceres and Kane all sitting in the house tonight. Unless any of them are carrying knocks, they should’ve been at least on the bench surely?

For goodness sake, Ahoy Ahoy, will you calm down, I hope you don`t write like this, talk about melodramatic.

It`s the diddy cup, most of the team are the guys who were still under contract from before, some we couldn`t give away.

I`m glad we use this game to see how they get on, ditto Bene , give him minutes. I`m also glad we rested players- particularly the internationals.

Personally I`m not too bothered about this game, we could still win it! We might get humped. I want to see Cooper and Rudden getting minutes.

Im interested in Saturdays game.

Bene & Rudden off at h/t for TOB and Barney. Guess that`s pre-planned to ease the returning players in gradually.

Looks like Hamilton still rb and Gilmour pushed in rcb? Pity as Gilmour did a lot of good stuff to get us forward in first half.

I have never been convinced by this "we must get minutes in their legs" philosophy. Half the starting eleven tonight we already know are not good enough so why play them? We are not got to learn anything new and run the risk of exiting the cup to a lower division team and costing us money.

He was a standout in every game a couple of seasons ago. Now he`s barely competent. He can`t pass, he can`t cross, he can`t beat a player and he can`t tackle. He`s become a total waste of a shirt.

Can he do a Matty Todd and find his form again?

Not sure what sparked off TOB for his booking but he went down the tunnel as soon as the whistle went. Clearly not happy about something.

Overall didn`t really deserve to a draw although we could have sneaked one in the last 5 minutes.

Not sure putting Gilmour into central defence at half time was positive. I would have preferred to see Hamilton moved in there and KRH or Todd put to rb.

Something offf with this squad at the moment. Been thinking it for weeks. Is it due to Lennon not being on the touchline?

I know it`s the diddy cup tonight but there a chance for fringe players to claim a starting 11 spot and we just get the same slow start, losing two goals in the first 11 minutes for the 3rd time this season. Why are we so bad at starting games. Is it the way we prepare?

There doesn`t seem to be any fight or willingness to attack until the game is running away from us.

You can`t play attacking football for 10 minutes out of 90 and expect to win a game. Really disappointing performances from the majority of the starting 11, pass marks to Mehmet,Gilmour ,Bray and KRH. Subs were ok when they came on except TOB who would have been as well staying on the bench.

Otoo was a standout in the team the last couple of seasons because he was playing with dross.

Now he’s showing his level that there is a better standard of players in the squad and he’s having to fight for his place. He’s arguably 4th or 5th choice CB. He’s never getting a game at LB/LWB ahead of Fraser in a million years. Gilmour, Hamilton n Amade all start ahead of him in the midfield too.

TOB, again, waste of a jersey. He’s so ineffective in the centre and offers nothing compared to Hamilton n Gilmour.

I don`t think it`s should matter what the competition is. As a team you should be going out to win every game. That`s what professionals do. We were far to negative again. Passing the ball around the back gets you nowhere. At times we were on the edge of their box and the ball went back to the half way line. It`s not rocket science. You have to create opportunities on the edge of the box, get around defenders or run off the ball to create space for a pass forward. We are too easy for teams to defend against. I think I agree with some of the other posters. Some players have gone backwards.

Tonight we got out of the game what we deserved absolutely zero
and if it wasn`t for two late quickfire goals it was a tanking
I know tonight this wasn`t our normal defence , but they need to have a long hard look at themselves in a mirror !
As i said earlier at present the way we have been playing I am not positive about the outcome of any games because we keep giving cheap avoidable goals away and we seem to have went backwards lately and always giving teams a goal of a start is suicidal ,
anyway good luck to Queen of the South in the next round they deserve it

I`m not sure what some are seeing in recent performances that makes them think we`re going to go on to have a better second half of the season.

I really hope we do but we`ve been pretty poor and getting gradually worse in terms of performance levels recently IMO.

Looking at the number of changes made tonight and the lack of any cb`s on the bench maybe there was something in the rumours of a bug going through the camp and the flunami has done us no favours??

We lost 4 goals to a league 1 team. It’s just not good enough enough. Yeah you can say we scored 3 but 🤷🏻‍♂️ we were playing a league 1 side.

I think it’s safe to say we need reinforcements.

Definitely a creative player. Another one in CM to back up Hammy and Gilmour. Amade is away but he wasn’t looking like the answer tbh.

I think Kearney has potential but still looks raw/young.

I think both Tod’s could go far but I don’t like how reliant we are on so many younger players. We are starting to see what can happen with a young team-when the grind starts it gets to much for them unless they’ve got enough experienced players round about them to keep them moving in the right direction.

Mind when Hansen gave his little “you don’t win with kids” comment… Man U started that match with Schmeichel (31) Irwin (29) Pallister, (30) Paul Parker (31) and Brian McClair(31). Roy Keane and Lee Sharpe also started and were about 24. Keane had been at Man U for 2 years and was a first team regular and Sharpe had won 3 league titles. 6 experienced players out of 11…

Tbf tho, I’d be more than happy with 6 players of that calibre

Did we have a late goal chalked off? It was 4-4 on Flashscore for a few minutes, then back to 4-3.

Disappointing result, would have been a lucrative tie against the nazi boys.

No goal chopped off. Glitch in the live score system.

"Some players showed they simply aren’t good enough"

that was clear long before tonight so no surprise at all, hopefully its the last appearance for a large number of that side but unless there are massive changes in January then it wont be.

Barney had one chalked off for offside in the build up I think, no?

When I got back from work tonight and saw lights on in the two flats across the car park, I thought that’s not a good sign. Hoping the lads don’t have the flu.

I’ll be over with the scrubbing brush and dettol, if that’s the case.

The players are told to keep possession at all costs, which means passing back.
I long for football to go back to the good old days and get it forward at all times. The modern way bore`s the tits off me, mainly because its designed to lose goals if the personnel can`t play it properly.

Salton everytime tash comes on the park it makes me doubt Lenny a little more. I’d expect some business in Jan and hopefully we can loan the likes of Ngwenya out and I guess we’ve missed any possible fee for Otoo now too, zero chance he’ll be here next season either way.

The intensity has gone from our game just now, will be interesting to see if we can pick it back up with a hard run of games coming up that on this evidence we can quite easy loose them all.

The likes of Otoo ( honking tonight) and Ngwenya are not getting another game.
Barney unfortunately unless we find 500k is gone to back to Falkirk ( that`s a huge player in the making)
Zak Rudden is warming up nicely though
We rested the good players tonight.
Onwards....
Bray does great things and fluffs every shot.. A pre season of beefing up and he will be good. McLeod the same
Happy days ahead
