Am I right in thinking VAR will be in operation tomorrow vs Hibs? And will this be the first time we`ve had VAR at EEP?

Nope, VAR is only used at grounds that can provide it 👍🏼

But as the game is live on BBC, what would be stopping them? Not being argumentative, I`m genuinely not sure of the system. I assumed VAR was a separate package, that could rock up in a van, plug in to the TV feed, and work regardless of location, as long as the match had sufficient TV cameras? Or is there additional cameras/systems that need to be installed at each ground?

I think these two questions from the SFA FAQ answer that.

How many cameras will there be?

A minimum of six cameras – two in the main stands, one on each of the 18-yard lines and one behind each goal. If there are any additional cameras at the match (e.g. Sky matches), the VAR will have access to the additional cameras.

Who is providing the technology?

We are working with Hawk-Eye Innovations, the leading provider of VAR technology in world football. We will be using Hawk-Eye equipment that is used globally by all other associations supplied by Hawk-Eye and is approved by FIFA.

The top flight sides all pay their share towards the 1.2m a year running cost for VAR as well.

It`s not cheap.
