I’m mid-baking today so it’s the kitchen for me.
I waved off some Pars fans earlier - the free car park space is the number one attraction roond here these days. Maybe I should put a fiver sticker on it. Make some dosh.
Anyhoo, same as usual folks if ye get the line up before me please post it.
Cheer the team on for me.
Three points please Pars!

Stick or twist - After a great result last week but on what will likely be an attritional pitch does he sacrifice his 3x CB`s for an extra body in the middle of the park ?

Centre mid will be key today.
I thought STJ dominated in there at East End. Between the physicality of McAlear and the constant ability of Holt to receive and move on the ball, they were really good. We never really got anywhere near Jason Holt particularly, at least for the first 70 minutes or so when Hamilton came on and we started pressing more. I`d like Hamilton to start today and be all over Holt.

Morrison should play a bit deeper than Thomas so hopefully will help in midfield a bit. I might have had Hamilton in for Boothe but it`s hard to drop anyone after last week. Glad to see Kane back in the squad.
The Terrell thing probably isn`t serious, could more that since Mehmet came back in he hasn`t put a foot wrong
It shows how big our squad is now when Cacares, Bray, Hosler & Otoo don`t even make the bench

Nothing to fear today. Hopefully it’s a similar performance to last week

A competent enough display by the Pars so far. Saints don`t look like league leaders. Very impressed with our back three - they work as a well-oiled unit. Just need a bit more punch up front. Morrison and Tod look quite sharp (Andy`s first touch is improving every week). But Rudden could have done better with the opportunities he has been given.
The ground conditions are difficult, but you sense that we could win this with a little bit of good luck.

I was listening to ParsTV commentary and it sounded like Deniz saved another almost certain goal. Unfortunately they had picked their MOM just before it, but Robbie sounded worthy as well. Three great performances back to back - away at Rovers, home to Hibs and now at Saints. Still early to claim we`re consistent, but it`s looking more promising.

I saw this earlier.
St Johnstone normally have 60-69%. Weirdly their results appear to be worse recently when they have more possession.
Their results appear to be better when they have 45-60% possession.
Did we sit back and they struggled to break us down?!?

They would have had more, certainly, but I was surprised it was that high. I was also surprised their shots on-target plus shots off-target didn`t add up to their total shots. So I don`t trust their stats. They got the score right at least.
They must have counted a lot of ST holders who weren`t there to get to that "attendance" figure as well. With that stand behind the goal empty the ground can`t hold much more than 8,500.

Possession stats are generally irrelevant, but there`s no way it was as low as 27%. Obviously I wasn`t recording it, but if I had to guess I`d put it at about 53-47 in their favour.
The reported attendance of 8300 is also wrong. With one end closed and the away section behind the goals being 1/3 unused, that number is simply impossible. There looked to be less in all areas of the ground than last time we were there.
Anyway, great win. Saints had slightly the better of a pretty even first half with neither side looking very threatening. They got behind us a couple of times, but Mehmet made comfortable saves when needed.
Second half was good from us. Always nice to catch a team fannying about like that. The shot was probably one where you just try to hit it hard and get it on target rather than trying to be precise with placement, so it was nice that it flew into the top corner. After scoring we had a good spell, with the chances mainly falling to us. A few near things in that spell as we looked really well set up to match what they were doing and didn`t really look in danger. Defensively, we were very good as a team until near the end.
Inevitably those last few minutes were a bit nervy as we came under heavy pressure. Hard to see what happened from the other end of the park but looked to be a header off the line then a good double save. Will be interesting to see those again.
Like last week, the shape seemed quite rigid today without switches between 3 and 4 at the back. We`ve looked well organised both times so will be interesting to see if we change back next week against lower-ranked opposition.
When did we last beat St Johnstone? There haven`t been many games in recent times but the only semi-recent win I remember is the 3-0 early in the season when they won the first division, 2008/09 I think, in my commentary debut on Pars TV. It seems incredible that it was 17 years.

Beat them up there in our last season in the Premiership. One of very few wins that season.
