C`mon Pars, need to show the same commitment and fight as we did in our last few games, we need the 3 points today as we did last week, so lets no slip back into making it hard for ourselves, lets keep the momentum going.

Could be tricky, Airdrie picking up a wee bit.

We`ve been great recently, but any result can happen in this league.

Airdrie signed a couple players too, if they frustrate us .

Free kick should never have happened, incompetent officials strike again.

Looked like it bobbled in front of Deniz and up over him, but the pace it went should have been saved.

As I say that ref has another mare in booking Gilmour for being hauled down on the break - twice.

Shocking first half, a stuffy Airdrie are more than worth their lead. Quality of crosses into the box, when we eventually get round to it, is awful. First 10 minutes of second half will tell us if a fightback is on. Not hopeful. Abdulai miles better than anybody else, very disappointed in Robbie Fraser today, first time I`ve said that.

Thats pretty close to be fair. Cant think of any shots theyve had except the goal and one a lad put past post from 5 yards out.

We’ve had a few half chances, Tod won a header well, Hamilton hit bar then a few blocked efforts.

Rudden needs to find a first touch too though, bring others into the game more.

Yeah, we need a "Fergie-style" team talk right now. Too many slack passes, poor first touches, and a general reluctance to go forward when the opportunity presents itself.

We can do much better than this. Defeat at home to Airdrie is not an option!

Not that bad overall, but a few players reverting to type.

We all knew Deniz had that in him. Hammy`s passing has been pretty poor and Matty Todd has lost a bit of the precision in his crossing that he had (re)gained over the last few matches.

It can still click in the second half I think.

I thought it was a good foul. I doubt it should have been a red. A yellow was the right call. There were defenders running back and he still had lots to do. Maybe a relative of John Beaton ?

Honestly don`t think its a red as there`s cover, but its idiotic to do as it gives the ref, who`s been shocking, a decision to make. Amade must be awful in training that he can`t get in this team before Hamilton and Booth. Less I say about A.Tod the better, been poor for weeks!!!

The boy was clean through running away from the defence and no one was getting to him if Hamilton didn`t foul him.

Tough shift now to get anything from the game.

The Pars have struggled versus the bottom 3 all season, not too shocked by this. Disappointing to drop out the playoffs again though.

Plenty of the match and plenty chances, need to be more clinical with finishing off crosses.

One of those days, keeper howler, stupid red, missed chances.

And here`s me having it all worked out this morning ,
Arbroath to get Beat , us to win ! then win our games in hand and we jump to third , I should know better than get carried away with a couple of good wins of Late , normal service was resumed today !
We could play all night and not score !
Every home team won today 2-1 , we obviuosly didn`t see the script
The only thing we can say about that game is Thank Feck it`s finished as others say no matter the opposition you cannot gift them goals go a man down with a sending off and expect to get anything out of the game

Yes we were but we’ve also proven on occasions that we are so much better than we expected! So it’s understandable that folk can get carried away. If we were able to keep up the good play we have played consistently then we’d have a decent chance!

I do fear we are not good enough up front I’m afraid, our strikers aren’t clinical enough, and more often than not we’ve relied on goals from the midfield to get us through!

Today showed why Hamilton and Mehmet don’t deserve new contracts.

Both are well below the levels required.

Howler for the first goal.
All players were in line, 40 yards from goal, never a red.
Hammy should have been off at HT though as he was brutal in the first half.
Thought we were pretty decent after the red to be fair but oh well.

In the three recent wins Mehmet has played a blinder. There’s no need to tell fans off for believing in him.

Typical pars. Had a chance to build momentum against a team who lost at home to the bottom claim last week and they bottled it.

We started the game with no intensity, felt like we expected to just turn up and get the points.

Mehmet, Todd and Hamilton reverted back to default today, I’ll be surprised if any of them are here after the summer. You need better and Lennon will know that.

Andy Tod is either great or worse than a man down, zero strength today to get and keep possession and always caught on his heels, needs a break out of the team.

The other younger players actually done okay given the circumstances. Morrison worked his socks of but lacked any cutting edge, hopefully there’s more from him and rudden looked rusty.

Bad day at the office, couldn’t even take a decent set piece and beat the first man.

Mehmet, Hamilton and Matty Tod were awful today. Tod & Hamilton should have been off at halftime. We never got going at all. Both Tod’s and Mehmet should be dropped for the next match. Fuming watching that ***** today!!

Tod hasn’t been the same since his U21 call up. I don’t think he’s scored or created anything since.

Kearney should start next week ahead of Todd.

Hamilton should be nowhere near the squad.

Player performances were poor obviously but arguably Lennon is more at fault for that team selection and then not changing it until after we were a goal and man down.

How do you watch the first half and not think to make any changes at half time, you have 5 subs so use them!

Poor game all round and it`s games like today which exemplify why we are where we are in this league

Kearney was poor as well when he came on and was culpable at the second goal. Todd was murder though, couldn`t cross the street. As for Mehmet, that is always in his locker.

The fact Mehmet has made a career in full time football sums up the way the club has been run prior to park bench.

Hammy had a shocker. If he can’t win a tackle or second ball what can he do?

Overall thought we played okay but predictably lacked intensity against a lower placed team at home. Hopefully Lennon can spot the ones that need dumped in the summer after that.

Referee and nw side linesman should be sent back to the Sundays.

We still have the problem of scoring Goals ! and giving soft goals away

That was our discussion today. To be top 4 will need a level of consistency. We aren`t scorong goals or even getting enough crosses into the box. Tippy tsppy football again today. Whats the point in being in the top 3rd of the pitch amd then knockibg it back to tge half way line. No punch today, out smarted by Airdrie. We didnt do anything like enough to win tge game let alone come away with a point. We could have played all day and not scored. Airdrie were far more positive going firward when they had the ball. It wasnt often but they scored twice when they did.

Don’t think anyone gets pass marks today. If I had to pick someone, maybe Fraser or Rudden, but even that’s scraping it. Everyone was miles off the levels they’ve shown the last few games.

The goal we conceded was poor, but the reaction after it was just as bad. Heads dropped and nothing changed. I was genuinely stunned we came out for the second half with the same 11, first half was crying out for changes.

Hamilton’s red was brainless and completely avoidable. Personally I’d have hooked him at HT anyway. That left us with an impossible task and killed the game stone dead.

Corners and crosses were brutal, especially from Todd, no quality at all. And can someone explain who’s telling the players to take “quick” free kicks 10 yards backwards, mess about with it, then gift possession? Happened time and time again. Airdrie were delighted to let us do it and just break when we inevitably lost the ball.

Biggest worry for me: we were second to every ball. Looked like Airdrie wanted it more, which I’ve not seen from a Lennon Pars side until today.
Need a serious reaction next week. If we turn up thinking wins are a formality, we’ll get exactly what we deserve, same again.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

That’s exactly what I thought. Any positives we had going forward were because of Morrison.

Defence was solid-NL threw everything at it and we got caught on the counter 🤷🏻‍♂️ 2-0 is basically the same as 1-0.

Abdullai outstanding again but felt Mullen and Ngwenya were good. Gilmour and Fraser solid again. Fraser just needs to keep working on his delivery.

Deniz Mehmet still isn’t good enough. He costs us too many goals. That was terrible today. Hopefully NL sees it and just drops him before he costs us more later.

Serious question although far from the biggest issue this week...

Why is it every single week the first corner or two we try to play it short, realise that`s a shambles of an idea, then actually start swinging the ball in?

Fair take tbh, but I didn’t think JCM was anywhere near “solid”. Those offside calls were nonsense from where I was sitting, the second one in particular, Mullen was clearly playing him on.

What surprised me most was his positioning. That’s usually his biggest strength, but today it felt off all game and he kept getting caught between decisions, not quite tight enough, not quite covering the space either.

I agree he wasn’t the worst out there, but that almost says more about the overall performance. For a guy we normally rely on for composure and reading the game, I thought it was a pretty poor showing.

A bad day at the office that’s for sure. Was wildly optimistic going into today and I need to learn not to be. Airdrie were hungry and wanted it.

Some of the performances were nothing short of appalling, big Nurudeen the only pass marks today. Morrison chasing scraps which is a shame cause you can see he wanted it but wasn’t getting the service. A.Tod needs a rest and benched, may do him some good. Also for christ sake, take Matty Todd off fckn corners.

Beats me why Lennon never changed it earlier or even at HT. Regardless on his thoughts towards Chris Kane and his fitness scenario. If he’s within the match day squad, he’s ready to play, and if you are chasing a goal, Chris Kane is the man you want on that field, I don’t care what anyone else says. That is a fact.

Just to mention Lennon set us up wrong. Against airdrie who haven’t won in 5+ games and with us on a decent run we went with a midfield pairing of Hamilton and Gilmore! Really?

That mcpake type tactics and we ended up with a mcpake like performance.

Gilmore and a more attacking midfielder is so much better. Less sideways passing and more forward thinking intelligent passes forward. Wasn’t keen on how deep Fraser and Morrison were when they got the ball either, very easy for airdrie to sit in and watch us play it around in front of them before we inevitably gave it away.

The performance today was like we had a hard game on Thursday!

We have about 5-6 players who are good enough to take us forward and a few who are only good enough if they have a real good game. Squad still needs work.

I completely agree about Kane - the boy from Bristol City looks no better than the loanees we had last season - in the short time he was on Kane looked way superior to him.

Hamilton had a shocker in the first half and his red card was just ridiculous - if he’d fouled Mochrie with a crunching tackle he may well have got away with a yellow.

For the first goal Mehmet initially started to blame his wall - I wonder if he was already annoyed at them and took his eye off the ball because it was such a weak shot. Whatever the reason it was a shocker - plenty of time to get back into it after that though.

Attacking wise we probably carry more threat from set pieces than we have for years - if only we could put a cross into the middle of the box (Morrison fought well today but his crossing wasn’t much better than Tod’s).

Probably unfair to criticise Carey so early but he was also very poor when he came on.

Fair enough, obviously sitting in the Norrie it can be hard to see offside lines. Maybe if I had, I would have came to your conclusion.

We just need to take it on the chin and move on. Hopefully we can turn the results into a positive in that the guys learn not to switch off. We’re a far better team than Airdrie but felt like the players thought they’d win by just showing up.

Well, that was a bit sh-t and I don’t think anyone saw that performance coming. Genuinely shocked that we dropped our levels to that display.

Fair play to Airdrie, they sat in, played on the counter and we more aggressive off the ball than we were. They weren’t great, but they didn’t have to be because they battled and although Mehmet has gifted them a goal, they still had to dig and a battle and they did that, before a lovely finish to seal the same.

Where do you start? I think the obvious place is Dennis. We know he is liable for the odd clanger, but the saves he made against Raith, Hibs and St.Johnstone, he deserves to be the number 1 at the moment. However chat of extended contracts, should be put to bed. We need better. At QOS, Ayr and today at Airdrie, I’ve really liked Harry Stone. I know he is on loan from Hearts but he’s the type of Goalkeeper we need (with what I have seen). Apart from that, Dennis didn’t do much wrong, but he already gave them the gift that cost us.

Some of the supporters around me were going mad at some of the offside calls, they really need to get a grip. Quite often the linesman called it right, getting so hot under the collar and being wrong, is embarrassing. The Ref, baffling but he did get the Hamilton red right. It was the same as ours last week, yes, no consistency but he let himself down and left his team mates in the lurch, most of which were having an off game anyway.

We saw the downside of Hamilton, Todd & Memhet today and the reason why I don’t think they should stay past their contracts. They do well, but they’re not consistent over the season for a team that’s looking for promotion. I love Todd and Hamilton but performances like today (from them) come as no surprise.

For me, our biggest problem remains in the forward areas. We’re not clinical enough and….some of you will disagree…but for me Kane is still our best striker. Rudden tries and he does the dirty work, but often his hold up play is poor, his first touch is off, and he doesn’t get shots away. I’m not saying he is a poor player, not at all, but he’s not clinical and not as good as Kane with linking up. Tod needs re-earn his slot for me. Since the International call up, his levels have dropped off and today was the lowest. So weak and just not contributing. The effort is there but so often he weakly gave up play or just didn’t contribute. Morrison, as has been sad, tried his heart out but he lived off scraps and did what he could do and looked lively. I think he’s going to be a huge player for us and playing off a link man like Kane, would be the making of him (for us).

Nobody saw today coming, which is frustrating, but it’s time for a wee…and it’s only a wee…rethink for Lennon. Amade looked lively when. He came on, Thomas put himself about without being brilliant and Carey did ok. I genuinely think they’ll start (along with Kearney) next week. That’ll be a good opportunity for them. Fingers crossed they take it.

We still have a problem up top. We don’t have an out and out scorer. ( I’ll repeat what I said a week ago )
We have scored 29 goals in 22 league games, which at first glance, doesn’t look terrible, but 9 goals came in two games. It’s then just a goal a game for the other 20. That’s not going to get us into the playoffs.

I agree. I’ve said it elsewhere but Morrison looks like he can bring a lot to the table. It’s a shame that he was laden with Rudden who worked hard but showed little quality and A Tod who worked about as hard as the stewards who walk up and down every 10mins.

Much prefer Kearney to Marty Todd on the right.

Agree young Toddy needs a rest.

I thought Hamilton was very poor even before the red card and is nowhere near the quality of Amade.
