We never get the breaks in the box as our players are on their heels and have no anticipation or positional sense apart from Kane.
Better players always make space and are in the right place at the right time to get on the end of things.
I just wish we had a pacey winger of someone that worries the opposition and helps force them back.

Was thinking the same myself. Never seems to drive forward and was posted missing in Centre mid in the build up to their goal. Even our best players , Fraser is another one, seem to be going backwards. Lacking confidence obviously. Very worrying.

we are not getting any breaks , because you have to anticipate and make things happen instead of standing back waiting on things happening , we are also snatching at things when we just need a bit of composure ,
some good play at times but we are too slow never on the front foot or in about PT , It`s hard to see where a goal will come from at present , we need to go up a couple of gears and get into them we are standing too far off them and get into Ashcroft too ,he is slow so get it past him and you have half a chance , his strength is in the Air
pretty sure NL will be getting into them to gee them up

My Thistle supporting friend has got this game won already. Imagine us giving way to a very average Partick Thistle. If I could get into the dressing room right now I`d give them all a right good kicking ( verbal of course) and tell them there`s no way we`re losing this game, in fact we`re winning it. If we can`t turn the tide tonight, when will we? Time to start winning or die trying.

Looked lost until we changed shape, zero attempts is telling though.
Weirdly hopeful of getting back into this as we do look a lot better at 442, strange the manager hasn’t picked up that if you tie up our wing backs in a 352 we have nothing, as the first 30 minutes showed.
Here’s hoping for an improved 2nd half and a goal…….attempt.

Desperado, morrison feels like a total shot in the dark, barely played at this level before and it’s looking like another largely ineffective player signed up on a long contract. If that’s the level Lennon seems good enough best get cozy in the bottom half of the championship.
There’s defo a confidence issue and the players lack resilience when it goes against them. But if we get the next goal it could turn the game around.
As per the previous 3 seasons, still missing quality where it counts, crazy when you think about the turnaround of players we’ve seen.

Good point considering relative league positions and our recent abysmal form.
Hopefully that persuades Lennon to bin the 3 at the back as it leaves us overrun in midfield. If so, which CB drops out because JCM is definitely not a RB but Kearney has been so poor last few games. Can`t see Lennon benching JCM having made him Captain though.
Turley has been good last two games alongside Gilmour as well.

They all contributed some good things. Ngwenya was fab at times, but there weren`t many of our players who didn`t dither now and again and give me the fear.
I don`t agree with criticism of Morrison, I think he did well - played with pace and was threatening. Can`t fault Kane, or Abdulai. Yes they all contributed, we`ve got potential as a team, though it looks as if it`ll take many more games before we get into our groove.

I don’t think being captain is helping Mullen. Give it to Gilmour if Hammy and Bene are non starters.
We have been dire since ToB got injured. Coincidence?
Really need to find a striker from somewhere as this U21 English Championship striker on loan experiment that we keep trying does not pay dividends.
Morrison is either not fit or not interested or both. Would rather see Bray or Cooper start.
Better win on Saturday or the amber light that is flashing will turn red.

Thought it was a decent enough display considering how we have been playing.
Thistle were just punting it long for most of the game and it paid off eventually.
Was their second goal not straight at the keeper and went right between his hands ?
Few decent performances and a few poor ones. We definitely deserved at least a draw though.
Can’t beat it when they’re keeper was time wasting all second half then rushing about at the end

I thought the boy Turley had a decent game and look forward to seeing what he can do the more game time he gets.

After we went into 442 we looked pretty good. It’s definitely the best shape for this squad. It’s simple and effective. We need to start in that every week.
Poor defending for their second goal. When the goal came over the top Ngwenya and JCM were either side of Samuel and neither of them took the initiative to stop him. One of them should have. There were some poor individual performances tonight but I’m not going to bother naming names.
We kept going tho and kept getting balls into their box. If you do that at this level eventually chances fall for you. Morrison unlucky not to score with his one that hit the post.
Glad to stop the run of defeats, not just to get the point but also for the confidence of the team. Hopefully it gives them all a lift and we get a couple of wins on the board against QP and Ross county to ease any worries of getting dragged into the relegation fight.

Yeh Turley was good.
I don`t think confidence is such a big issue, but there`s value in knowing you`ve got something from a match if you keep going with determination right to the end.

p*** poor tonight. I don’t think we registered a shot on goal in the first half. Aimless football with no end product.

Tremendous performance tonight. they kept fighting.``
Credit for battling to the end but it was far from ``tremendous`` Poor quality building play. Everything was in hope rather than a structured way of breaking Partick down.
We are vulnerable at the back and pretty cluelesss attacking teams. Certainly kept fighting and putting hopeful balls up the park playing the percentages, which managed to get us a point.
It stops the rot hopefully and I`m hoping a bit more confidence helps us play with a bit more quality on the ballnext couple games.
Thought our players would`ve progressed a bit futther than this by now though. Spent a fortune and it`s not great.

Did anyone else want to take that ref’s whistle and shove it up his derrière? It was like a blooming foghorn.

Point a piece probably a fair result, still wasn’t a great performance but didn’t feel they offered hellish much, second goal to concede was criminal.
Folk giving Matty Todd a hard time, take a look at yourselves, thought he done well tonight, and he gets asked to play all over the park at points. His name sake, with one less D in his name, the grandson of god? Offered sweet heehaw tonight, lack luster and gutless when it comes to a fighting for the ball. Would like to see Cooper get a game ahead of him on Saturday.
Thomas n Kane together up front is what I’d have a go with against Aberdeen, a real handful they could be the pair of them.

I thought we did ok and deserved the point.
We lack a playmaker or midfield general that can play defence splitting passes. Generally, all our best midfield players are defensive types, neat and tidy on the ball, but usually looking to play the safe ball.
Morrison has had enough games to get up to speed. I’ve yet to see what prompted us to give him a long deal. Maybe he will prove me wrong?
We weee more solid with the back four. Thistle had managed to cause some problems down our flanks and their two most dangerous forays down our right ended up with a near miss and their goal.

Pretty dire game but I was happy to come away with a point at the end. We didn`t really deserve to get anything out of the game.
As I was watching the game I was bemoaning the lack of leaders on the pitch. That team is crying out for 4 or 5 big, solid, experienced professionals that can do the dirty side of the game, manage the game, and take the pressure of the youngsters. A couple like Alex Gogic, Raith`s Scott Brown, even someone like Particks Ashcroft would really help the youngsters out and bring them on. Fair play to the tonight for keeping going and earning a point. The seasons on a knife edge, could go on a run and get promoted via the playoffs or go down. Neither would surprise me

Whoever said we were ‘tremendous’ tonight has clearly had one to many ales tonight.
It was the complete opposite of tremendous but I’ll take the point and move on to Saturday, where we will need to be a lot better than tonight.
We’re so slow and passive when in possession.

My thoughts.
We are overrun in midfield for the first 25 minutes with our shape totally wrong.
I get we started with basically 3 forwards but we had nothing in the middle of midfield so creativity was next to nothing.
Once that was tweaked we controlled much of the park again without chances but it was an improvement.
Started excellent in the second half and deserved to level the scores but then fell of the pace again but Partick looked out of sorts as well until their goal.
Fraser is strangely a different player recently. I don’t know what’s happened to him.
Morrison just doesn’t have that extra yard of pace he had with F*lkirk and his final balls are abysmal.
We haven’t won a single game he has started with us which is also telling.
More than happy to snatch a draw in the end and probably a fair result.
