Just a wee thank you,to the ground guys and girls, for the efforts they are putting in,to keep the pitch up to standard. With so many games,at home coming up,full credit, and thanks for their hard work.It does not go unnoticed.

It doesn`t look great, trust me.

The strip in front of the technical areas looks terrible

Yes I first noticed it during the Hibs game there’s a strip in front of the main stand that was very boggy. Gray was making a point of trampling in players footprints.

Given the state of some of the pitches in the top division generally ours looks better but you can see the odd bobble on the highlights.

Given the run of home games the pitch maintenance team will have a job on their hands. It’s better than last season but it’s not there yet.

I`ve never understood why goalkeepers warm up in the actual goals when there is a set at the side that wouldn`t cause damage to the goalmouth area. There’s more sand in the goalmouths than on Aberdour Beach.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

Gives them a true reflection of how ball bounces, what it’s like under feet for movement etc

And damages the conditions underfoot making bobbles etc more problematic.

I agree it shouldn’t be used

The pitch certainly looked bad in some places on Tuesday night.

Dread to think what it could be like by the time Aberdeen and Raith games come around given we’re in it today and Tuesday again.

The thing I don’t get is why the ground staff aren’t out with a heavy duty roller on it for the 10 mins the players are back in before kick off….at least get it a bit flatter to avoid situations like Deniz’s

Pitch is very bare, but that’s a result of such a wet winter.
Lots of sand all down the main stand side, making it really easy to bring up big divots.

I assume we don`t have grow lamps on the pitch to help problem areas?

Think the problem with putting a roller over the pitch,is it would probably compact the soil too much, thus creating more drainage issues.

From what I`ve seen in TV in recent weeks our pitch is better than Aberdeen, Dundee utd, otherwell Arbroath and st Johnstone`s.

It will suffer now due to the amount of games, but agree good work and effort has been put into it.

BEAST!

Looking at old footage for games from the 60s and 70s the pitches were so much worse for wear at this stage of the season. We have come a long way since then.

Tannadice and Pittodrie had more sand than the bunkers on the Old Course.

Is the pitch only played on for first team league and cup games ?

Not used otherwise hopefully ?
