Teenage Kilmarnock winger Findlay Curtis is a surprise inclusion in Steve Clarke`s Scotland squad for two friendly matches later this month.
Curtis, 19, joined Kilmarnock on loan from Rangers in January having played 32 times in an impressive first half of the campaign at Ibrox.
With Bournemouth`s Ben Gannon-Doak just back from injury and Scotland lacking depth in wide attacking areas, Curtis has been given the chance to impress as Clarke prepares to lead Scotland at the World Cup finals in June.
Scotland host Japan at Hampden on Thursday 28 March before taking on Ivory Coast at Everton`s Hill Dickinson Stadium on Tuesday 31 March.
Wrexham centre-back Dominic Hyam and Middlesbrough striker Tommy Conway have also been re-called to join an otherwise settled squad.
Everton right-back Nathan Patterson is also included having played no part in Scotland`s successful World Cup qualifying campaign in the Autumn due to injury.
Napoli`s Billy Gilmour also returns after missing the last camp through injury, while his club team-mate Scott McTominay and Aston Villa`s John McGinn are both in as expected after recently returning to action.
Goalkeepers: Scott Bain, Angus Gunn, Liam Kelly.
Defenders: Grant Hanley, Dominic Hyam, Jack Hendry, Ross McCrorie, Scott McKenna, Nathan Patterson, Anthony Ralston, Andy Robertson, John Souttar, Kieran Tierney.
Midfielders: Ryan Christie, Lewis Ferguson, Billy Gilmour, Andy Irving, John McGinn, Kenny McLean, Scott McTominay, Lennon Miller.
Forwards: Che Adams, Tommy Conway, Findlay Curtis, Lyndon Dykes, George Hirst.

Clarke showing again form means nothing, just sticks with his known team.
Ralston - being kept out of the Celtic team by 19 year old Colby Donovan but gets selected
Craig Halkett - part of the 2nd best defence in SPL and league leaders but is ignored whilst Hanley is picked.
Barney Stewart - whilst young is scoring so why not try him out.

Hanley & Ralston should be nowhere near that team. Leaving out Bowie/Stewart for George Hirst is daft aswell. You’ve got young strikers who are scoring goals, & playing with confidence.. you already know what you’re getting with 99% of the players in tha squad. A wasted opportunity to give boys a chance to make the squad.

With Gannon-Doak out and not guaranteed to make it, I would have liked to see more attacking/creative players come in.
Calvin Miller, Barney, Elliot Watt and the rampaging Harry Milne would surely have been close to getting in.
Don`t see many goals in that bunch but hope I`m wrong.

Oliver Burke was worth a shot surely. There are a handful of players in that squad that are hardly getting game time for their clubs and this was an opportunity to give a few newbies a go. Disappointed with this squad.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Steve Clarke has always been conservative with his squad selection. He`s not going to change now. He`d probably argue that it`s served him well considering his record on qualification for international tournaments.

On what grounds? 4 goals 1 assist in 22 games this season (3 of the goals coming in 1 well documented game back in September). Hardly in *hot* scoring form that cant be ignored.

I always thought Scotland should take another dozen promising young players. Not as part of the official squad, but there to train and learn.
Wouldn’t that be a fantastic opportunity?

We need a right back, hickey is a big miss.
Ralston should be nowhere near any football team.

I’d have looked at the Dundee goalie McCracken. Hes looked a really good keeper from what I’ve seen. Bain is obviously on the way down and let in a howler at the weekend.

No McBurnie, no Stewart, no Halkett but includes folk like Hanley and some rangers kid and George Hirst. Form means nothing to Clarke (who I do like mostly). Hardly motivational.

I agree. He’ll argue that this has served him well, and it has, but he gives little consideration for the national team of the future.

Could easily see 5 or 6 of this squad plus the manager being gone after the world cup.
This kind of wholesale change won`t be great.

Hanley was sitting behind me at the football on Saturday and looked very uncomfortable any time he stood up or walked

The comments on the announcement on FB by Hibs of his callup are quite telling.
His own fans saying, `what about Halkett/Welsh`, etc 🤦♂️😂
