 Hampden S/F day info
Topic Originator: JohnnyLatics
Date:   Wed 18 Mar 23:06

Because of issues on the rail, original plan of a very early arrival to Glasgow Saturday morning from Manchester isn`t happening, so I`m travelling on Friday morning and staying in Glasgow for a couple of nights.
I`m guessing the following questions rely on what end Pars get, but I`m asking do Pars fans get designated bars before/ after the game?
Or is there other plans?
Staying south of the river.
Cheers!

I blame Andy Rhodes for this!

We are definitely getting the west side of the stadium (Rangers End), so presumably pubs at that side would be your best bet, suspect they will want us driving/buses to come in through city centre and down to that side of the stadium. Where as Grangemouth will come in from Aikenhead road etc. I’m sure we will get guidance soon enough.

Surely it would make more sense for us to be in the East Stand? 🤔

Honestly, I can see this being an utter sh*t show yet again and there being loads of issues/trouble outside the ground pre/post game. The authorities wont care about the logistics of fans.

I don`t know where the information comes from that we are getting the West End has it been decided.

The pinch point is going to be the railway station at Mount Florida, and all buses will be coming from the east so chances of flashpoints on route, but I would think designated routes, parking and pubs will be announced.

Hopefully the police are on top of this and know what is coming.

I thought we were drawn out first which would normally make you the ‘home’ team. What is considered the home end at Hampden? For Scotland games away supporters are usually in the west section if my memory is right.

We had the North stand last time we played Falkirk in the semi-final, with Falkirk opposite in the main stand: made it look better for the tv cameras apparently.

Dunfermline 6 Albion Rovers 0. On my birthday as well, thanks very much.

The Glasgow police will think we are coming in on our tractors. Not sure if they take the DAFC v F!!!irk rivalry seriously.

"We had the North stand last time we played Falkirk in the semi-final, with Falkirk opposite in the main stand: made it look better for the tv cameras apparently."

we were indeed, Prices for semi last year were

North/South stands - £40 for adults/£20 for concessions.
East/West stands - £30 for adults/£15 for concessions

Would be outcry if they "forced" us into the more expensive sections. or indeed lower the prices for North and south for our game but keep them at a similar level for the sunday match (given ticket revenue is split 4 ways)

At a guess they are assuming 10-15 thousand each. So North/South would make most sense rather than behind the goals. The Glasgow police made an utter mess of it the last time, here`s hoping they learnt a few lessons...

For segregation purposes alone East/West is a lot more efficient than North/South.

Have sat behind the goals plenty of times for Scotland games and never had a problem with it - higher you sit the better the view IMO. Was directly behind goals for last qualifying campaign and had great views of all the goals.

Dunfermline Athletic can confirm that we have received an initial ticket allocation of approximately 9,000 from the Scottish FA, with scope for this number to increase.

Supporters will be housed in the western side of Hampden Park and should demand require it, additional seating will be made available.

We continue to be in dialogue with the SFA and hope to be able to announce further ticketing and operational details shortly.

The club has also secured a small number of supporter buses for the fixture. Full details on how to book transport will be released when ticket sales are live. No seats will be held ahead of launch.

We kindly ask supporters to wait for further updates before getting in touch, as we will be in a better position to assist with any queries once additional details have been confirmed. Thank you for your understanding.

Behind the goals at hampden is one of the worst views anywhere in Scotland. Hope that’s not fully where we are being placed though.

front rows are but anything in the middle in line with under the screens/scoreboard around row GG is actually a pretty good view.

I’d imagine because fans will be restricted to the areas already sold and can’t just move about Willynilly anywhere in the West side of Hampden.
It would appear that these prices will apply to our game as well as the gate is split 4 ways.

We used to do that at Parkhead. Buy the behind the giant pillar tickets then sit elsewhere as there was always plenty of room. Then they started only selling the restricted view ones once they were there only ones left.

The question is whether we have access to what was/is called North? Do we assume St Mirren have no access to North tickets and the bottom cheek has all this area? I do hope we have tickets close to the halfway line or is this only in the South Stand🤔

Travel and hotel for the weekend is currently costing me short of £200 (change for a pint somewhere).
I`m hoping on a seat amongst the noise but not a lousy view, so I`m following on any advice here once the tickets go on sale please.
Many thanks 👍

The details haven’t been released yet. From COWs:
“We await the SFA to finalise the details of the semi-final, including ticket prices, allocations, and supporter options. I can confirm we have secured 15 coaches for supporters to provide a good travel option from KDM Group East End Park to Hampden. We will be offering this coach travel at cost to supporters. We’ll share more updates as soon as possible to give you plenty of time to plan.”

I believe tickets will only be available on the Barclays Hampden Tickets APP, you can download and register at the moment but only international fixtures are there, The semi`s will be up when the time comes and the app gives you access to the ground when scanned.

Id imagine you will be able to purchase them through the Pars website, then when the tickets “go live” they will transfer to the Hampden App prior to game. Thats what happens with Scotland tickets. You can then transfer them to others through that app.

Yeah with the league cup final I know the fans bought the tickets through their clubs then tickets were put onto the Hampden ticket app. All that’s needed is for then the lead booker to transfer all the tickets to the right people

You’d need to ask the club/SFA on that one. The QR code works on bluetooth around the ground, where it’s an ever changing code I think, like the Euros ones to avoid fane tickets etc.

Anyone who has the app able to give any advice as to what the process is/should be?

There should be a sign up/register when you download it. Once you have put all your details in they then will send a passcode to your email. Some folk had them sent to spam others had to ask a few times before it sent through. Once you have put in your code that is you all signed up.

Make sure when you are buying tickets that it is same email you registered with.

For those buying multiple tickets(if we are allowed) you can then send these to the individuals through the app just need their email address tha they have registered on the app.

Stuck at the first step as not getting the registration code through to my email.

I know when it was first set up obviously everyone already had an account on the Scottish fa website because that’s where you got the tickets from before so if anyone is having any issues maybe try setting up a Scottish fa account first

Take me back to the old days where you queued up at the club, handed over cash, and got a paper ticket, half of which you handed over at the turnstile and half you kept as a wee momento for a while afterwards!

I agree, having to download an app for something you’ll use once or twice is a nonsense

Plus the fact that Hampden has terrible phone coverage. So when you get to the turnstile, the code isn`t there, despite having the app open before heading down.

As long as you’ve downloaded your ticket before you get there the app won’t have any problems as it doesn’t need service to work

Well, it didn`t work for me for the Denmark game. Had my ticket downloaded and the code was showing on my way to Hampden, gets to the stadium and when I went to open the app, it was just buffering with no code showing.

They have improved the coverage, I struggled with my Scotland tickets for years but they improved it the last campaign.

You can’t screenshot the tickets though, so as a back up option. I always get my son to photo my phone and then send me the tickets though, just to be sure 👍🏻

I can understand it if it was the old firm playing, but we are not going to fill the stadium. Anyone who wants a ticket will be able to get one, so I think the app, in this case, is overkill.

Agree it shouldn`t be an issue for our game, however it is just how Hampden works now. Every event requires everyone to use the app, not just football.

I would guess it`s taking some time to configure ticketing systems to only allow each clubs season ticket holders to purchase for a period of time?

If we want to do this and Hampden were selling them we`d need to provide the details of our ST holders. If we`re selling them our ticketing platform would need to know the seating layout. Either way both would take time.

Jeffery, The seating layout has been published. There is no need for season tickets holders first, the stadium has more seats than the demand will be.

my suggestion would be that Hampden staff are just that, Hampden Staff. They will be dealing with 30,000 tickets being distributed for this weekend with another 10,000 for next tuesdays game as well as working with the 4 clubs for the sales of semi final tickets. Id expect news by mid-late this week with sales starting mid-late next week.

Personally agree that there is no need capacity wise. Clubs might decide differently though.

If you read the st mirren website they are selling to season ticket holders first before opening to all. I`m just saying that restriction might take time to implement from a systems point of view.

The only thing that’s holding tickets up is the fact that Scotland play this week they done the same when it was the league cup final they waited until after that to publish the Scotland tickets so you’ll more than likely hear about the tickets next week

Although there is no need for a Season ticket holder pre-sale for the amount of tickets available, I would suggest that it would be a good loyalty reward to Season Ticket holders in “getting the best seats available”. Especially when you consider we lose out on other incentives like when the gate prices are reduced for special games or it’s bring a friend for a fiver initiatives etc etc (not that I have a problem with them. It’s quite the opposite actually)

Presumably you can buy multiple tickets and just have it on your one phone?

e.g. I’m going with my father and son, I’ll just buy the three tickets and when we get to the turnstile just pass the phone around.

Falkirk have announced ticket prices. Dunfermline have to but cannot get the link to work.

There saying North/South stand is £42
East stand is £32 for adults.

Kids/seniors are £22

Prices are steep…I’ll be there regardless of course, as will many. But wonder if it’ll put a few off??

Hampden App is absolutely simple to work with, use it for attending Scotland games all the time. Very easy to transfer tickets to another person if bought through one account, all they need is to be registered and use their email to transfer a ticket. Simple. Do feel though for the older generation that don’t have smart phones etc, it’ll cause issues?

No, it`s a changing motion bar code to stop `harvesting` loyalty points for Scotland matches.

if you buy them both they will both come to your email address in the app and scan him in on your phone then swipe along to next ticket to scan yourself through on your ticket.

I know the app is meant to be simple, and there`s a guide, but I can still see folk trying to get in 15/20 minutes after kick off.
I know this is the way ahead, and the future is now, and why it`s got to be digital, but there`s gonna be an awful lot of heads being scratched outside Hampden on the day 😕😜

I don`t think everyone needs the app as long as one person has it on their phone, the same phone can be used to scan multiple people in, just swipe to change the QR code for each person and pass the phone on.

Encountered enough problems getting into EEP on match days with people with phones who could hardly turn them on!
This problem is amplified by the cup games when folk who haven`t been at EEP since Leishman was manager turn up.
Obviously not helped by our defective turnstiles, but getting in 10 minutes after kick off is a joke!

I`m buying 8 tickets for 3 different groups of people, including children, who will be travelling separately to Hampden, one from abroad.

Does each ticket have an individual QR code?

Can individual tickets be transferred electronically, eg by email or WhatsApp?

Can the tickets be printed once transferred?

Can the tickets be printed once transferred?

Tickets at Hampden Park will be digital tickets and only available on the Barclays Hampden App. You can download the mobile app from the links below:

Apple App Store
Google Play Store

This is only a ticket app which will be used to manage your purchased tickets. You will be able to assign and forward tickets within the app. The ticket purchase takes place on the online ticket website hosted on the Scottish FA website.

The Barclays Hampden App is not compatible with a Windows Smartphone.

You can buy tickets here

App Information

After purchasing your tickets for the match(es), the tickets will only be visible in the Barclays Hampden App. Tickets purchased will be visible in the app, but the QR code will not be active until the morning of the match.

Please ensure that the Barclays Hampden App is up to date. Versions of the app that are not updated may have limited functionality.

Update your app by holding down the Barclays Hampden App and selecting update app.

Ticket Transfers

Tickets bought on public sale can be transferred using the Transfer button on the Barclays Hampden App. Select the Ticket(s) you want to transfer and then enter in the email address.

We have listened to supporter feedback and now SSC Member tickets are limited to 1 transfer. This means that those without a smartphone can have their tickets transferred to a member who does have one.

Each ticket will go to the individual rather than the lead booker if the ticket has been assigned to a member during the purchase process. This will also be the case for any ticket assigned to a supporter during the purchase process.

Please note if you transfer tickets you have 24 hours to accept, otherwise the ticket will go back to the original owner.

QR Codes & Scanning

All tickets will be issued digitally and only on the Barclays Hampden App. The QR code of the respective ticket will be activated on the app the morning prior to kick-off.

Please load your ticket at home on match day prior to leaving for the stadium. This will avoid delays at the turnstiles when opening the app.

USING THE APP

Step 1: Download the App

You can find the Barclays Hampden App on the mobile store. Please download the app on your mobile phone, tablets are not recommended as they will not fit in the scanners.

Step 2: Register for the App

You will need to register for the app using the same email that you use for your Ticketing Account.

You will need to accept the terms and conditions of the tickets as well as the data protection statement to use the app.

It is preferable if you allow the app to use your contacts to be able to forward tickets quickly. You can change the app’s permissions at any time.

Step 3: Account Verification

After registering in the app, the email account your registered with will be sent a 6-digit verification code. Enter the code to verify the account. This process should be followed each time you login to the app.

Simplifying this right down you either need to be in the possession of your own ticket via the app and the app only or be with someone who is in charge of your entry, via the app and app only.
