Neither have quite hit the heights of previous seasons.
I look forward to seeing Morrison after a full preseason here. The last two seasons have been quite stop start for him.
Loosely on the subject of the best creative wide players.... I see Logan Chalmers and Aiden Fitzpatrick at Partick are both out of contract in the summer. They`ve caused us real problems. I assume both might be on the radar of StJ.

Its been a change for Morrison to return to Scotland and try and settle quickly into an existing team. I tgink with a pre season, and well settle at home he will be an asset next season.

Easton can be easy on the eye but take away his penalty goals and there`s not a lot of end product
Plus he`s a diving moaning fanny :)

They are very different players, so hard to compare.
I’ll judge Morrison during next season. I’m prepared to cut him some slack for this season.

C’mon guys easton has regularly played, created and scored loads goals at this level and been raiths best player for years. Hes also very good at protecting the ball and rarely has a bad game. You could see why we wanted him.
Wasnt impressed with morrison early on but some tidy finishes and hard work means he’s come onto a game and contributed although is very much hot or cold. Got to remember he left falkirk after a great couple of seasons in league 1 and that doesnt make a championship player espechially physically. Hopefully theres a bit more consistency there next season, main worry with morrison is he’s a bit lightweight in possession and generally bigger is better in this league.
Would i rather have 27 year old easton or 27 morrison in my team in this league, i think that’s a pretty obv answer.

Morrison has already scored 5 goals in less than half a season. Only 5 players have made double figures in the Championship and they`ve all played over 30 games. He has shown he has the bottle to take a decisive penalty and he has also scored direct from a free kick, something we Pars` fans rarely see.
Fortunately people at the club thought he was good enough for the Championship. Successful coaches and managers can`t sit on the fence for ever. They have to exercise judgement. If they didn`t, guys like Barney Stewart wouldn`t get a chance at League football and Josh Cooper would be playing part-time in League 1 or 2.
As things stand I`d rather have Morrison in my squad than Easton.

I think that most recent post from Berkey has confirmed for me, he is a Raith Rovers fan. He can`t possibly be a Pars fan, he seems to disappear when we win, only appearing when we are playing poorly, or getting beat, to berate his scapegoats or try and get a pile on started against the management.
If he is a Pars fan then he must be a psychologists dream, he`s only happy when it rains.
On Easton, he`s a good League One, or bottom half of Championship player. That`s where he`s played most of his career. A career in which, he`s not really done much, Elgin, Kelty, Airdrie, Clyde, Forfar, Berwick, kicking around the lower leagues, achieving nothing. The only reason anyone is talking about him is because he`s a drama queen and tries to make himself the centre of attention. The folk on here that big him up probably only do so because he`s been nice to their kids at some p1shy football training they pay for them to attend

Now he’s a Rovers fan that oozes negativity?
Honestly, you couldn’t write the irony amongst our fans 😂

The thing about berkey is he talks a lot of sense in most parts. Not everyone agrees with him and that`s fine, and if folk think he is hiding when we are winning that`s ok too as we are winning!! I really think calling people out for having an opinion is worse. At least he sticks his neck out for what he thinks. He said he would rather have Easton at 27 than Morrison at 27, but he also said he was willing to give Morrison the chance to have a pre season and judge him on next season. I think that`s fair, but people we want to jump on him for whatever reason.

Of course he`s entitled to have an opinion but others are entitled to challenge that opinion.
One thing I can never understand about him is that he rarely commits to having an opinion on whether a player coming from a lower level is good enough to perform at a higher level. He invariably reserves judgement until they have played at that higher level. One of the main attributes of football management is to spot players capable of playing at a higher level. Somebody has to give them an opportunity otherwise they will never progress.
I think most fans like it when a signing from a lower level makes the grade and they love anticipating when that looks like happening. It`s really the lifeblood of the game.

Wonder what wee eck and dunce no1 have been doing with themselves as I’ve been too busy to post regularly here…. Now I know they have been sitting waiting!
Got to laugh at folk saying Easton is a league 1 player of bottom half player. He’s a proven player at this level, in my eyes Morrison hasn’t proved that yet, unless all you need is 5-6 decent games and you’re a top championship player now?
Plenty bias on show and folk acting like a woman scorned that he didn’t come. Lennon was super keen to get him in and we made multiple offers haven’t seen anyone criticise Lennon for trying to bring him such terrible dross in?

Said at the time, the reason we wanted Easton was to get it right up Raith.
I was pretty gutted at the time but the longer the season has gone on, the less I care.
We`re better off without him as a team, in my opinion.

If NL being keen to sign Easton proves he`s a proven Championship player, what does it say about Morrison if NL actually signed him? I wonder how many games he had to see him play before he decided he could cut it in the Chsmpionship?

Easton is by definition a decent league one/championship player. I`m saying this due to the fact of reality. That`s exactly where he has played all his football, nowhere else, not had a sniff of it.
He has bounced about Elgin, Airdrie, Berwick (!) etc. before hitting a good run and finding his place at the Rovers. He is 32 years old. Think of him as the wee teams Joe Cradle.
Morrison has played in every league in Scotland including 30 odd appearances for Hearts. He is only 26.
Personally I like Easton, because I like a wind up merchant, and also he is good in the limited area that he is good at, also good for him getting this contract out of the Rovers.
Morrison has significantly more to his game, he is far more adaptable.

I agree with most of that but woah woah woah a minute... Joe Cardle had a way, way better career than Dylan Easton, and it`s not even close
He`s more like the wee team`s version of Ryan Wallace maybe :)

Berkey seems to live rent free in some posters heads.
For what it’s worth, I think Morrison is the better player. Lennon has mentioned on several occasions how important pre season is for the way we want to play. It will be interesting to see how much of a difference it makes when Morrison has a full pre season.
This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

I would expect to see an improved Morrison next season. Easton chose to stay at RR. Fair play to him, he chose the best option for himself. Its how they play within a team that elevates their performances in my view rather than individual skills. I thin Morrison at times has been a little to eager to please by overdoing things or being a bit selfish. I think that will change next season once he has fully settled in. What you get from him is 100% committment. Easton is a bit older, a bit more experience, but for me Morrison has potential to improve, Easton is approaching the end of his career at this level.

I’ve yet to be convinced on Morrison, in the big occasions I don’t think he’s performed that well, he had a poor game against Falkirk, been struggling to beat a man and easily taken off the ball.
That being said he’s had spurts of form where he’s shown he has talent so it’s a consistency thing for me.
Not sure why we’re comparing to Easton as completely different players

Morrison scored in 4 consecutive starts for us before he got injured (including a double against Ross County) so I am sure he is capable of performing in this league. He has struggled a bit since his injury but looked more dangerous again vs Queens Park yesterday.
Personally, I’d rather have him over Easton, that ship has sailed.
