 St.Mirren v Kilmarnock
Topic Originator: veteraneastender

That`ll be as tasty as the top of the SPL table clashes this weekend - and have a bearing on the Pars promotion playoffs, assuming Partick Thistle don`t follow our preferred script.

I`d fancy us against St Mirren but PT (the team, not the amazing Hideo Kojima tech demo*) I`m far from confident. Our H2H for the last 20 games is 4 wins for us and 10 for them. Stats mean hee haw though when it comes to big games like this. Among those 4 wins were a couple were we scored 4, it would be lovely if we could pull a result like that out of the bag on Tuesday.

Does anybody have a stat for how many teams have achieved promotion when having to play all 6 play off games? 6 high pressure games in a row is a sizable task, but not insurmountable.

*One for the gaming geeks out there. PT, the masterpiece that never was.

I’d agree, we’d do well to get passed Partick, would be more confident facing St Mirren.

Partick haven’t played in a wee while though so hopefully catch them cold on Tuesday with a good performance, need something to protect going into Friday.

Ocht I dinnae ken lol

That’s what I was questioning earlier.

Alloa have played second bottom Airdrie now they have to play Stenny who beat QoS. That’s just daft.

I agree with Berry (and my big brother) that it should be the same across the board. Same with L2/lower leagues.

St Mirren have only scored 27 goals in 36 games, 11 fewer than any other team, and they`ve lost 20 of these games, the same as Livi.

Partick have all the tricks arbroath have but with some quality on the ball. We don’t have a good record against them either and they finished miles ahead of us in the league. If we are still in the tie in the 2nd half on Friday that would be a result.

St Mirren in free fall just now, I fancy whoever faces them in the final to beat them.

If we were to go up I’d wager we would have went up with the lowest ever points total in the championship, last season our points total wouldn’t have made the playoffs.

They finished miles ahead of us due to the first half of the season. They`ve taken 2 points more than us in all games since Christmas.

When you factor in our cup form and the fact that we played heavily rotated sides against them and St J - and reserve teams against Airdrie and Arbroath - you could find grounds for optimism.

Absolutely da-go, wonder if they rested players for the last few games or certainly eased off once st Johnstone had it wrapped up.

We’ll have to be clinical and make the ball stick up front this time. Hopefully we’ll be a bit more match sharp as Partick won’t have played for 11 days come Tuesday.

Agree with this. Partick are just as much hatchet men as Arbroath.

Remember O`Reilly trying to pull Caceres` shirt off then going down like a ton of bricks when he reacted.

Also, was it Oisin Smith that clotheslined Amade off the ball?

Partick and Arbroath have had the fewest yellows this season. That`s an incredible stat given how they play. Masters of the dark arts.
