I’d like to see Chris Mochrie back at EEP. I think he could be really good in our present setup.
You’ve seen the Pars now please go home!

Isn`t he a defensive midfielder quite similar to what we already have? We`re not a big enough club to have 4 or 5 players fighting for the same position unless a couple leave.

No, he is an attacking midfielder/forward.

His work rate off the ball wasn`t great when he was here last. Lenny wouldn`t have any of that

Ex-Pars Dom Thomas and Robbie Mahon (Motherwell loanee) were also in the Airdrie line-up. They only brought on one sub and that was in the 31st minute!
Stenny 2-1 up v QoS in the other semi-final.

Mochrie is a talented lad and decent age, think he would be an excellent addition under Lennon management.

Question ~ why are the league one to champ play offs not the same as the champ to prem play offs?
Why didn’t Alloa play QoS then the winner plays Stenny then that winner plays Airdrie?

Because the regular season in the Premier league is still ongoing with the split. Still think it should be consistent across the board.

An attacking midfielder eh, could be worth a shout. Maybe in a better squad he`d be more prolific, we were a much worse squad when he was here before.

If Airdrie had held on to win 2-1against a young Pars team a few weeks ago they probably would have avoided the play-offs.

and we already have 4 or 5 attacking midfielders....
as for the playoffs, its never going to be the same in all 4 leagues when 1 of them plays a different amount of games.
said after our last game against Airdrie, when you are 2-0 up at home against a reserve/kids side with 40mins to play and only get a point, you deserve to go down......

Got to say the Rec (or Indodrill, or whatever it`s called)is one of my favourite grounds, we always take a crowd there, they have decent fans, a friendly club.
And if the game is boring (I`ve seen us getting horsed there a few times) there`s always the Ochils to look at.

Because the teams in the Premier league ,were never going to vote for the playoffs the same as the Championship ,the only way for them to vote for playoffs was for it to be so heavily in favour of the Premier team .

The Premiership is still playing so their teams can’t play in the playoffs just now. They play more games than the Championship. If Partick beat us they will have played the exact same amount of games as the Premiership team they face. We will have played 2 more in total. It’s a bit of a myth that it’s heavily in favour of the Premiership team tbh.

Yeah happy to see the back of airdrie!
Mochrie looked good for the first few months he was with us in league 1 but then faded badly but think it was his 1st or 2nd loan spell where he was playing anywhere near 1st team football. He’ll have improved but not convinced he’s what we need. We need players capable of playing in the premier league to help get us there and not sure if that’s him and at 23 how much room for improvement is there. He’s a better option than Morrison though.
If we don’t go up at least we’ll have a couple of different clubs to play next season! Relatively Local too if alloa come up.

Tod, Cooper, McLeod, Kane, Rudden, Morrison. I don`t see how he fits.

I’m not sure Mochrie is any better than what we already have. His lack of work rate was evident the last time and that was in the league below as well. There are probably better options out there.
This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

Players change as they mature, look at Shankland and the difference when he was with us to Hearts. Shanks admitted himself he should’ve been more professional at the time re fitness etc. All plays a part.
Despite the attacking players we have I don’t see one that can really sit behind a striker in that AMC role apart from perhaps Cooper.
Morrison despite a small flurry has been poor, Macleod injured most of the time so hard to determine how good he’ll turn out.

Cooper isn’t signed up for next year, he’ll be away as not even getting on the park just now and hasn’t kicked on.
Mcloed is an interesting one, really should have been out on loan this season but it hasn’t happened, some flashes of good stuff but generally not been at it, hopefully he comes onto a game next year. Same can be said of Kearney who can’t get in a team with ahead of matty todd who isn’t a wing back.
If we want to go again and improve we’ll need better than Mochrie, with Bene likely away we’ll be looking for more experience again too.

From the highlights Alloa looked quite handy. Mochrie I think has the talent, but agree his work rate would need to improve. He does have the ability to score from outside the box that we struggle with. Morrison is perhaps a little off it at the moment, but you can't question his work rate. The Arbroath games were not his best but hopefully see more from him against PT. He just needs to get his composure back when opportunities come his way.

Went along yesterday, really good game and some brilliant football on display especially from Alloa who were great to watch.
Two or three of them really caught my eye, then when i asked my pal about them turns out two were there on loan as part an agreement with Rangers and the other from Dundee United.
Airdrie were decent too but lacking anything potent up front. Mochrie was up there on his own and very tidy footballer but never a centre forward. If Airdrie had someone half decent up there throughout the season i think they would have stayed up.

Apologies da no 1 saw he had signed an extension for 12 months but didn’t realise he got another 2 years on top. He’ll need to pull a few rabbit out next season to see much game time.

NL must rate him to have effectivley given him a 3-year deal at the start of this season. What has happened to suggest Cooper has fallen out of favour since then? When he`s fit he usually features from the start or as a sub.

Agree. Very quick with and without the ball, gives us something different.
People forget he was only 19 when he was on loan with us.

At the moment, it looks like Cooper is going through a confidence crisis, in the recent game against Queens Park when he hit the post, his reaction to it was very much like "what do I have to do?". Im sure he got his contract extension when he was on a decent run of games, and was our most creative outlet for a while...

Cooper had a long injury remember.
I personally like him.
He’s intelligent on the ball and has good positional sense in and around the box.
Hopefully he has a big part to play yet this season and beyond.

I tbink Cooper will get better next season. He does lack a bit of pace in my view so would benefit from some sprint coaching. He is an intelligent player and knows where the goals are. Maybe he needs a bit of a run in the starting 11.

In my view he doesn’t need much pace it’s the players around him that should make the runs I think in recent weeks definitely we’ve been waiting until the balls out wide to make any movement but then it seems everyone runs out wide and leaves no one in the middle
