I know the CL is not everyone`s cup of tea, but PSG are almost always worth a watch, with their abundance of attacking talent. I can`t help thinking Arsenal will need a minor miracle to take the trophy back to London. I wouldn`t rule them out completely as PSG are not exactly watertight at the back, and if Arsenal open the scoring, they might just nick it.
I`m not sure why the traditional 8 pm ko has been abandoned, Budapest is CET, is it not, so just an hour ahead of the UK. I think Arsenal will have to wait a bit longer for their Champions of Europe medals. 3-0 PSG

Score after 5 minutes then 10 behind the ball the rest of half and yet they nearly grab a second!
Had to laugh at the end of that half.....they take forever to take a long throw to ensure they get to H/T,get a corner and ref blows for H/T....cue them running complaining to the ref😂.
PSG movement is a joy to watch.

Time to make keepers temporarily leave the pitch when they get treatment, like everyone else on the pitch. This goalie cramp to give everyone a tactical break has been laughable this season.

It’s not a shirt grab into box, so the minute Madueke grabs him and pulls him into him to go down, it’s not a pen.

Nailed it for me. Arsenal may be on the brink of a double and yet are boring as Fxck to watch.YES I would have accepted us doing it last week at Hampden But they rely on such a boring defensive style then throws/corners and thrive in the "dark arts".

Shades of the 2021 Euro final - early lead, anti football rest of the game and bottling on pens.
I say bottling because the PSG keeper was so bad in his attempts at saving pens that all Arsenal had to do was get them on target to win and they failed at that.

As for the game, that was pretty dire. It`s hard not to put the blame firmly on the old @rse for that. Contrast the final with PSG`s epic semi-final encounter with Bayern, who went toe to toe.
Arteta`s Arsenal are reminiscent of some of the club`s previous incarnations, when their supporters regularly used to sing "One nil, to the Arsenal..."

Arsenal have been my 2nd club for about 40 years. Gutted we didn’t manage to win this evening. Would have been great to of celebrated the double. Sadly it came down to the lottery of penalties. I must admit that watching us play if you are neutral will be frustrating and not entertaining. I myself wish we would play a bit more attacking football as we are definitely capable of it. But the first rule of winning a football game is not to lose it. Certainly PSG had lots of shots at goal but if you check the stats, the majority were not in target.
I’m sure if the Pars win the league next season by winning most games “one nil too the Pars” none of us will be complaining.

1986/7 we got promoted to the Premier having won 9 of 23 wins by 1-0, including the first three matches, and had the lowest goals against in the league…
However, despite those figures we were significantly more attack minded than Arsenal were.
But to answer your statement, of course we would take a load of 1-0 wins!

Many people tag penalty kicks as a lottery. I don’t agree. It’s a test of technique, skill and nerve. Two of Arsenal’s players failed to hit the target from 12 yards.

@RTL I suppose the penalty takers would be decided way before the game had even kicked off. They would have all practised and the most confident players would put their names on the list. If they have the confidence to take one then let them have a go. I don’t think I would have put Tash down to take a penalty in the semi. But he had the confidence to have a go.

Think the fans get it because of entitlement. They were getting upset that fans of others clubs weren’t backing them to win the CL.
Also, their football and manager don’t help the situation. Arteta is a complete tool on the sidelines. Cant stay in his technical area for more than 10 seconds at a time. He is infuriating.

This^^^^
OlderPars fans will shudder at the memory of Jocky Scott, who used to lean on the outside of the dugout, occasionally looking at his watch - the epitome of boredom. His team managed to squander a 7 pt lead over Killie with 5 games remaining, meaning we missed out on promotion.
Not surprisingly, he was sacked, but he wasn`t happy and demanded £90k compensation. I don`t know if he got anything for his brass neck.

Used to watch Arsenal from the North Bank with my cousins back in 1969, what a delight that was. Teams with a sprinkling of Scottish, Welsh & Irish players, way before money became king!
Don`t like Arteta, so not much fussed.
